Definitely a must while visiting Scottsdale! The ambiance, the DJ and the set up is great! The only downside was the pool was freezing (in October) and there is nowhere to sit or stand as all of the areas are reserved. We even tried to get a lounger or table when we arrived but the minimum per person didn't even make sense (I live in Miami and it's less expensive) and the lounge chairs are for hotel guests. Other than the tables having a minimum of $1800, it wasn't that busy so we enjoyed our time at the bar which is located stairway down from pool. Also, before arriving, they had tickets listed $100 online and on another site for $50 and also in ResortPass. Luckily, upon arrival and a group of 8 girls, we were not charged. Four guys and I were part of the Wet Deck pool party the first Saturday of May. This situation still frustrates me so I figure writing a review might help others avoid the same situation. We ended up staying offsite and got sucked into a 4k minimum table by the pool because they said we wouldn't get in otherwise. That wasn't the case, guest or not was walking in without any problem. While we thought we could easily meet our minimum, that isn't the case because the service team takes 30 min to bring out drinks. Also, the food takes an hour to come out. Lastly, as a table, you're being forced to pay a 20% tip outside the minimum for mediocre service at best. Avoid paying for a table, it's not worth the stress or $$. I think the W management needs to look for a new company or leadership to run their pool parties. Hope this helps someone to not fall into the same trap. read more

This place is not for you if you are not white. My friends and I, all black females, already understood that the environment wouldn't be what we were used to but decided to go anyway as it seemed like a pretty safe bet for a good time and a safe environment, us being from out of town. However, before even entering the party we immediately felt unwelcome and we were treated very differently from other groups also entering the facility where they were rude and curt with us, but friendly to others. To make matters worse, the bouncer appears as we are entering the facility and rudely tells us to move to the side even though he had plenty of room to pass through. When I was resistant to being talked to like that, he made to try to kick me out. Ofc we all know that environments such as this one can be considered somewhat exclusive, but the disparity in our treatment seemed it could only be attributed to one thing: racism. Once inside though, this place is so overrated and not worth what they charge for cabanas. The music was not varied or even pop hits but all techno renditions of pop music with absolutely no variety. Overall, this place isn't worth it and the drinks are disappointing. The one good thing though is that this place seems to attract very fun and friendly patrons and we met lots of cool folks all looking to have a good time. read more

Keep an eye on your bill! they forced us to pay for a booth and $2200 minimum alcohol spend which we did reach but then on top of that they added all these additional items that we did not order adding almost $500 more to our bill. they also required us to pay a 25% gratuity which seemed to be a bit extreme for the service received. read more

This place is awesome. We had a blast partying here during the day with friends. The bar cover was 25 per person. It is quite expensive here but this seems to be the place to party when in Old Scottsdale. There were numerous bachelorette parties here and had good music to chill in the pool. W Pool is probably the best place in Scottsdale if you are looking for a pool party. The pool is super nice but a little small. The area surrounding the pool is really cool. A bouncer guards a velvet rope at the foot of an open stairway that rises to a bar with misters, a large pool with infinity edge gutters, and lots of large cushioned lounges. Private cabanas with bottle service can be reserved for $350 a day. The party goes on from 11 AM to 5 PM. Live, popular DJs provide a club beat that greets anyone arriving at the W. Expect a young crowd (Are those girls really old enough to drive? Are those guys cutting class?) strutting fit and often enhanced bodies in revealing suits, large floppy hats, designer sunglasses, and high heels. And of course, reality show worthy TV tans. Just came back from a girls trip to Scottsdale. We rented a daybed at the W on Sat. The pool party was awesome. Best time ever!

I rented a cabana here for my bachelorette party in September. Huge mistake and big waste of money. The cabana was free to rent, but you had to spend a minimum of $2,000 to sit in one. I thought it was pricey, but I thought it would be worth it to be able to get out of the shade as it was 105 degrees out. Such a waste of money. The bigger cabanas next to us remained empty the whole day and they let other random people just sit there in the shade without buying anything, but charged us money to sit in a tiny one. There was nothing special about the cabanas. They didn't turn the tv for us, there were no cushions on the benches, no towels, and it was so small, the waitstaff was rude and didn't make us feel special at all. Strike one. The waitress was either rude or drunk because she wasn't making sense. We ordered all of our bottles of alcohol weeks beforehand, but when we got there they notified us that they were out of everything we ordered, but didn't have record of what we ordered... So I ordered the cheapest thing on the menu. A bottle of titos... for $450 and a bottle of Moet champagne for $185. Conveniently, they were out of both of those options and when I asked if we could have the next cheapest bottle for the same price they said no. So they wouldn't give us things on their menu they were providing us because they were out and then forced us to buy more expensive things at last minute notice. Strike two. Then we had an extra charge of $250 on our credit card the next day and tried to call 100 times to ask and get an itemized receipt and they gave us the runaround and said it is a 3rd party company that runs their pool parties and not the W so they don't know? Strike 3. The pool party itself was fun, but that was about it. If you go just go to the party, do not waste your money getting a cabana. read more

I would hope this place wouldn't get any more business but sadly it won't be the case. We tried to have a milestone 30th birthday party for a friend only to have a nightmare that dragged the whole night down. Right when we get there it's a disaster. It's supposed to be a pool party with swimming and good times. All we got was hassle and disappointment. We get there and the little door boy is confused as to why we have bags. Hello, it's for our towels and clothes so we can go swimming. Only to be told the pool is unusable on Fridays and Saturdays because of the "nightclub" it turns into. So much for the 24/7 pool that it is specified to be on the website. We are also told there's a dress code. SERIOUSLY!? A dress code of nicer shirts, pants and shoes for a pool area!? What idiot is running this place!? Get over your elitist "we are better than everyone else" crap and accept the business we are trying to give you. We have a reservation for a party, GET OVER IT! Then we get up there expecting luxury and what do we get? Cig butts and cheeze its in the middle of the deck that the staff decided wasn't important to clean up until a long time later, a dirty and stained bar top, huge roaches running around and constantly tripping over loose fake tiles. So to recap, we had a difficult time being accepted up, crappy environment, the further problems with a dress code didn't allow a good portion of our guests to join the party, ruining their night and wasting their time and not being allowed to use a pool especially when the place is empty enabled us to pack up our things after a short amount of time and promptly leave. We decided it would be more fun to go to someone's house rather than stick around this place. We made the right decision by leaving.
