Regardless, I am happy to come here for all of my cats' daily needs from litter boxes, litter, to snacks and sometimes canned goods. I was baited to come in here because I was surprised to see a cat in a store on Yonge St. I peered inside and decided to take a peek (while also discreetly petting the kitty inside). It's quite spacious on the inside and very clean. The kitten ended up being the owner's 9 month old British shorthair that was wandering around the store. It was interacting with everything on display, which is pretty much really good advertising for any pet store. I ended up getting a shark toy on a whim - apparently it had a smell that cats were attracted to and the sounds generated from the texture is one that they adore. I saw that the cat walking around also really loved it, so I decided to buy one for my friend's cat. She also gave me a free sample of Japanese cat treats. This was seriously an amazing store. My friend reported back that her cat loves the new shark toy. When she got back home, her cat, Nyla, snatched it out of the bag it was in and began playing with it. Love this pet shop and hope it's here to stay. :) Overall, a great place to get a present for a pet owner!

She is the friendliest cat EVER! Even when you are playing with her, the paws never scratch you, and they are super soft :D Don't be surprised if you see food packaging got nibbled on... Nugget's behind it lol. We also met Benson aka BenBen, who was up for adoption. This cat has been in the store since early June 2022. He has a grumpy face but loves belly and chin rubs! Hope he gets adopted soon :) The store is very bright and clean, the aisles are stocked, and staff are very friendly and welcoming here. Pet-friendly, you can certainly bring your pets in and roam around the store!

Quite a few dog treats were going on for sale at 50% off or BOGO! Great time to stock up on some! The only complaint might be the lack of pricing on some of the dog food?? I usually like to know the price or if there's a special on some of food I purchase frequently. Staff is nice and friendly. There was a little dispute over the wording of the sale, but all sorted out when I ready to pay!

The bigger store permits more selections. Some pet food brands here, such as Blackwoods and Chicken Soup for the Soul, are not even distributed at the GPF in Unionville, which is owned by the same owner. I am delighted to have the access to many unique and quality brands through this location. This is an one-stop shop for all things pet. The store carries pet supplies such as leashes, litter, training pads, grooming supplies, etc. On the day I visited, there was cat adoption services. This was the first time I saw a cat adoption practice at a GPF. Kudo to that! The food pricing and placement reflects the strategy to be an elite food supplier. The narrowly distributed pet food brands, such as Blackwoods and First Mate, are fairly expensive. The food brands that are more broadly available, such as Taste of the Wild, are not predominately displayed.

This vet is extremely incompetent! I had to self-diagnose my dog a few times before he confirmed…read morethe problem. He will only investigate your dog's problem IF you bring it up. Otherwise, he will do a rushed and half-assed job examining your pet. I recently noticed my dog is developing cloudy eyes (a sign of cataracts). I brought this up during her follow-up appointment (about a week after her initial exam), and he said that he did not notice anything and that she was fine. However, after I asked him to check again, he came back and stated "Oh yes, like I said, she has cataracts". At least own up to your mistake and don't lie to a client straight to their face! Over the years, I have noticed that their fees are so inconsistent! (Exam fees = $80, Recheck fees = $50). Sometimes, they will waive the re-check fee and sometimes they will make you pay. In my most recent visit, they told me in the initial exam that I can bring my dog back without any charges for her follow-up appointment. However, when I brought her back for a recheck, they now tell me that I have to pay another fee! Their staff obviously are not on the same page and seem so clueless. At least recognize your mistake! In addition, this vet pushes meds every single visit. My friend used to go to this vet and she said the same thing too! He doesn't even give a clear diagnosis and says this "might help". I am never ever bringing my dog back to this clinic! It seems like their main objective is profit not care. Please don't make the same mistake I did. If you love your pet, please find a better clinic that actually CARES about your pet, not your wallet. FYI - they created a new Yelp page, because they had so many negative reviews. So don't be fooled!

Cleanliness of centre: 5* Parking of plaza: 5* Receptionist(many): 5* all very friendly and caring, all also young which is interesting Receptionist Cat Kenzie: 5*, she is so cute and fat from me giving her too many treats Communication: 4*, they will call and prefer to speak directly to you. So unless requested, they do not email results. But ask them anything and they will double check for you. Medical opinion: tbd I like Dr Susan in the sense she gets large dogs as she is a german shepherd owner herself. Most medical professionals lack or are not the best at bedside manners, as they lean more to the evidence based information side...that's why the friendly assistants/receptionist make up that end. She's thorough in interview intake, physical assessment and suggestions of objective testing ie)blood work or xray, but helps inform why you really need it now or what can wait. Her job is to communicate what she thinks is happening to her furry patient and makes sure the owner understands. Unfortunately most owners, myself included, see the costs of understanding first and get distracted quickly after. I do find she is not pushy but knowledgeable and passionate. Our previous vet retired early and was not as up to date as Dr Susan is on pain meds. She is able to examine her blood work and tell me why the red flags seen on the test are red herrings, and may mean something else the other vet missed. We tried a new med that my dog hated and she was ok to adjust another one to compensate. Senior dog health is the most complicated and expensive phase of the animal's life. This is where you need a knowledgeable professional that you can feel comfortable to work with. My dog is 12 years old but even in her lifetime the suggestions on dog tramadol and ssri have changed, which my previous vet missed and Dr Susan knew well. I won't say she is a good fit for every pet owner but she sure knows her facts and enjoys continuing learning in her medical field. This should be a really important consideration.

To keep it short, there's 3 problems…read more 1. She's quite rude to her staff. I know her staff aren't the brightest but she's disrespectfully rude to them. 2. 2 and 3 are related. Perhaps she's been better 10 years ago, but now, she's very driven by money. She will try to sell you hard on stuff you don't need, or processes. In the process, she'll try to sell you things in good or bad ways, like scaring you, threatening you or guilt you into buying into doing extra. She might even do "extra" for you because that's what "most" people do or that's how it's usually done. 3. She's not that good (anymore). Related to above, how can anyone prioritize the health of your pet if they prioritize money first? Let's say your pet has _____ disease and it's pretty urgent. But she needs to prioritize money first, so she'll ask you to do many tests, and that may waste valuable time. Or if a medication she prescribed has certain side effects, when you report back to her how your pet feels and experiences some of those side effects, she'll tell you "I don't like it". Your pet shouldn't be like that. If you tell her that could be the side effects, she will be like you don't know that until we test it. Anyways, I've heard other vets are super greedy as well. But this is another one, I'll suggest a pass just to save on some $$. If you don't mind, I would still suggest you not to. It's encouraging bad behaviour.

I know it's tough to operate a business during the pandemic, but this clinic has made it very safe and I really don't mind talking to someone over the phone to ensure that physical distancing measures are practiced. It has only been a few months, but I'm glad we received their services.

Everyone there has always displayed the highest degree of professionalism and competence. They've seen my feline friends through sickness and health, as well as the sadness of end-of-life. I've always been impressed with their focus on the animals, and how they continuously search for new ways to help them. They have always taken care to explain things to me and answer my questions. I've found them all to be unfailingly kind and considerate. More importantly, all of my cats have trusted them (none of them enjoyed visiting the vet, of course, but were never fearful of any of the staff). They have my highest recommendation.

Update: we had to go in to finish the booster shot and their temp vet tried to put a muzzle on my dog without my permission which was not cool or okay at all then asked if I would like to wait to make an appointment where my boyfriend could attend. I have let my boyfriend know everything which happened on the visit from the pushy attitude, condescending questions, to still having his late fathers card on file (which has been requested to be removed multiple times now) and we are not happy here anymore. Tip: have your employees greet the owner before their pet. Remember who has say in this relationship... because I am treated as an afterthought at this vet only to serve them and my dog.
