I used to stop by Mills Outlet all the time and always loved the experience. It's been a few years…read moresince my last visit, so I decided to make time to visit today. I've always enjoyed walking the fabric aisles to admire the vibrant colors and unique upholstery designs. They usually have great remnants at good prices, but today, I have to say, I was very disappointed--and this will likely be my last visit. While browsing the precut remnants, I noticed an employee staring at me. I moved to another section of the table, but the same employee "coincidentally" hovered near me again. I ignored it and kept looking, determined to find a piece for a special project I had in mind. As soon as I found something I liked, I turned around to see her standing nearby, pivoted toward me, and she commented, "I see you found something." After a long day at work, I was simply looking for a quick, creative outlet to pick up some fabric for my design project. Instead, I felt scrutinized and uncomfortable. As an avid fabric purchaser who regularly shops in fabric stores from Raleigh to High Point and NYC, this was a disheartening experience. Most stores I frequent are welcoming and allow me to browse freely without unnecessary oversight. Mills Outlet, please do better. Your customers come to you for inspiration, not judgment. You never who could be shopping in your store.

I visited Bernina World of Sewing this afternoon after having a difficult time with my new sewing…read moremachine, Bernina 590. Lynn Turner, an employee, was there to help me figure out what was causing the problem. She went through step by step in the sewing process of my machine and discovered that my needle was bent and it was as simple as that. She put in a new needle and it worked! I was so sure that something complex was the cause, but no!! Whew!! I love that store and have learned a lot with their classes and of course asking many questions when I visit. Thank you Lynn!!

The selection of fabrics seems to focus on soft florals and there were beautiful ones. Or maybe that was my focus today. The shop was well lit and nicely decorated with samples. Great shop in Wake Forest!…read more Many different vendors under one roof who have displays of their items. Each area is more like a little shop unmanned. There is a selection of items for everyone. Also they had a couple people there in person doing the business ( one did jewelry and I forgot what the other one was). The staff at the register were friendly as well.
