When I called Whatley's, I explained that we had a propane heater that was "like a fireplace" and that the problem was related to the pilot light. When the repairman came, he spent about 45 minutes looking at it, then called his boss and told us it wasn't something they could work on but he still needed to "collect a check." $160 later, we know they don't "work on appliances." Horrible Mistake! Can't imagine how awful this furnace and service have been. All I can say is RUN to anyone else. These guys don't know what they're doing and will say Anything to get your money. I called a well-known local HVAC company to correct the headache WHATLEY left us with. Apparently WHATLEY leaves many customers desperately seeking help elsewhere. Mr. Whatley came to my house for a consultation. He to tried to scare me into spending money. He said, "I'm sure you are just going to keep running it and when you do it's going to catch on fire". He told me nobody would work on my furnace since it was 20 years old, that there was no way to fix it and I just have to buy a new one. He is demeaning to women and had an aggressive selling style that was meant to intimidate. I absolutely felt he was lying to me from the moment he started talking. I wouldn't recommend him to ANYONE. 1 star is the lowest it would let me rate, I wanted to rate this company 0 stars. read more

They sent a service person to check why ac was not working correctly. He went into crawlspace and changed filter with a new one that I supplied. He didn't check to see if rhat had any change in the cooling. Charged mw $120 and left. Didn't do any good. I called and told them that this did not repair or even change a thing. Owner got nasty about it and said he would charge another sercice fee of $120 to check what they should have done on the fiest visit. read more

I hired Whatley for basic inspection of my system. The repair man was at my residence for 15 minutes, installed the air filter incorrectly so it whined (I corrected error), and then failed to provide a receipt. For this i was charged $150. I followed up with numerous emails and phone calls requesting a receipt so I could at least get the energy rebate. Non responsive after over a month of attempts. His answering service is generic and the "business owner" is never available. You can watch a your tube video on how to check your own system, buy a CO2 monitor, and end up with far superior results for less money. Complete joke of a company. read more

An incompetent disaster of an installer. He does not have the level of expertise to design a system and comes up with major additional charges after the job has begun and blackmails you that he will walk off the job if you don't pay it. He bids low to get the job and then he uses this tactic. I had to have someone come back and mostly replace what he had done since they said Whatley's install was a fire and safety hazard. Called them on a Saturday and setup furnace R&R. They showed up first thing Monday morning as was expected. Did the job professionally and for what the cost estimate was. I am very happy with the results. read more

if you want service after the sale go somewhere else. After he was paid 5000. dollars for a new heat unit that I couldn't get to work I called them back out. Said there was a direct short between unit and thermostat. Was told they didn't do it. Was looking for someone or something to blame instead of looking for the problem of it not working. The thermostat worked on old unit. He acted as if he was disgusted that i wanted the new unit to work. I checked wiring after he left and found 5 wires hooked up from thermostat in new furnace, only four wires in old thermostat hooked up. The previous installer of thermostat used the blue wire where green was supposed to be therefor wires in new unit didn't match wire in old exististe thermostat. Not their fault but instead of being helpful and friendly as was the case before he was paid 5000.00 he was rude, arrogant, bad attitude, and acted as though he was pissed off to even be there to check on the unit. if anything he could have found problem as I did , fixed it, charged me, and he'd have a happy customer. I wouldn't wish this persón or this company on anyone. And this was the owner. BEWARE. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

Danny Whatley Sr (owner of the company who works with his 20 year old son) is a former air duct installer NOT a furnace installer. Not only is he dishonest but his furnace installation in my home CAUGHT FIRE and nearly burned down my house. He literally does not have the knowledge to do what he is doing. When I called other furnace people to repair it and told them I thought I had a bad furnace installation TWO separate installers at the point on two separate calls asked me if it was a "Whatley install". Other businesses in town are skiddish and/or tired of cleaning up the Whatleys' dangerous messes. Ultimately I had to pay thousands of dollars to have a proper and safe installation done by someone else. He is a known menace, a con man and HIS WORK IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE. read more
