We wanted to have our wedding at Joshua Tree National Park but found out how restrictive it is, so we rented a house for our reception. We had a somewhat smallish group so we did not want to hire a caterer and we had to have something more than rice, beans and tacos, which is fine for a birthday but a wedding no way! We got lucky and found these guys and their drop off was exactly for us. We ordered a few dishes for the next day we baked and had some left overs. The have such a fresh and unique take on food, it's incredible. We were searching for food catering options in Joshua Tree and got lucky to find this proveyor. We have a wide range of food needs for our smaller group, so was starting to get frustrated. Since we got married in the JT park and rented an Air BnB, I wanted to keep our family together instead of trying to find a restaurant (and not a lot of options). After reviewing their services we decided to do their drop off catering delivered to us and the food was beyond our expectations. It is rare to find good food is such a remote place and with such high standards for sourcing and handling. This pizza was an awesome surprise! I eat a lot of catered food at different events, but nothing compares with Wheatfire. The staff was friendly and they had uh-mazing pizza. There were a lot of different choices, including vegetarian! The pizza was not just tasty, but served in a high end gourmet way, so the guests felt like they were getting something very fancy. It took me a while to settle on Wheat and Fire amongst the slew of caterers close by for our my event. I'll admit I feast with my eyes, they had great hunger inducing images but among the wood fired pizza caterers, they stand out with the information on their website. Artisan flair and that the ingredients are farm fresh were priority on my list as I had guests to impress. The food lived up to the hype. The challenge is we'd find one thing but not the other... with other caterers... at least those serving or could cater within our vicinity, and this was the right fit. The things they do in creating their food, we had a few gluten free people who loved their wheat dough. Californians are all about that organic, chef scratch made food and an experience for your guests (the price was just right by the way). Mind you, I have put 6 months preparation into this. All in all, this was a great experience. Ask any host, ruin the food and ruin the event. I had to let people know. We can not imagine how anyone can not appreciate this experience and the Wheat and Fire Team was wonderful to work with and calmed my anxiety with lots of hand holding. Before our wedding, Tony was great at helping us plan out appetizers and responding to our needs. Our wedding day turned out to be cold and rainy, and despite the less-than-ideal conditions the Wheat and Fire team were professional and speedy in feeding all our guests. They even added in extra bruschetta and made a few custom pizzas for vegan relatives and picky 9-year-olds! The food was excellent in quality. I think my husband ate half a dozen caprese salads in a matter of minutes, and every flavor of pizza we tried was excellent. Just have to say this group really knows their stuff, I have never had a catering experience like this. They knew how and why they did everything their way from the ovens to the dough to the toppings. Have to say this is pretty unique in the Los Angeles area where most catering offerings are people who just do it for extra income. I guess we have never really had a chef cook for us before even though we have hired many people calling themselves caterers in the past. The only down side is now we are really spoiled and still talking about the conversations and food we where able to enjoy with our guests. If you want something special this is the option, just do not book them the first Saturday in August, we need them to come back! read more

This caterer is a hoax and I fraud. They catered my party about 4 months ago. They charged me $800 for "all you can eat" pizza for about 2 hours. They made a total of 10! Pizzas. My whole party of 40 guests were starving. On top of it all they were not professional and made sexual comments to my guests. I am a Real Estate agent and always looking for new ways to change it up for a Broker's Open. One of my lenders suggested Tony's. As the smell of pizza radiated through the hills of Playa del Rey, the agents devoured slice after slice. His normal routine is to hand out a whole pizza in a box, but for a Broker's Open is was better to slice them and allow the agents to taste several different ones. The reviews from each agent was 5 stars. Everyone was amazed that it was organic and had an amazing taste. The only downside was his 30 pizza min. Wheat and Fire catered our wedding reception in our backyard on 9/29/18 and the whole experience went WAAAAAAYYYY above any expectations I had!!!! From the beginning, communicating through email with Vicktoryia about the details and specific things that I had wanted was super easy. My house is on an incline, and my backyard is laid out oddly, but they were super accommodating!! The setup in front of my house looked great. The food was amazing.... all of the appetizers, salads, and pizzas were so fresh and soooo tasty. The thing that I was most impressed by was the service!!!!
