Don't ever go and get a quote from this business to get new downspout. They will charge you $700.00 before taxes to have it done and when you need it done ASAP, they will make you wait 2 weeks. Stay away from this business. read more

Although initial communication and set up of the our job was decent, once the work began the quality of their service dropped significantly. The crew took long breaks daily, threw cigarette butts in our yard, didn't clean up nails very well, forgot tools, and exhibited poor workmanship in many places. Calls and texts to our representative about unsafe practices (not tying off) went on deaf ears, keeping our anxiety high hoping no one would get hurt at our house. Lucky a couple good 'inspector' type employees came to fix all our issues and they admitted the crew screwed up in many areas of the job. This crew was 'the best crew' as per our representative at Wheatland which now makes me shake my head and laugh. And to end our relationship by arguing over your miscommunication is petty. Glad the boss knows the importance of customer service. read more

Being a large company I mistakenly assumed they were the best. Nope. I first hired them 10 years ago to do my garage but my shingles are already curled even thought they were 25yr shingles. A few years ago I asked them to do my house. While they had the shilgles off I wanted them to pop off the sheeting around the edges, put soffit vents in and baffles on the inside which would allow air circulation in the attic. I also wanted two vents for a bathroom and kitchen vent installed on the roof and I would hook the two fans up to the vents. I left home at 7 in the morning and when I got home at 2:00 they were finished cleaned up and gone. Impressive but odd with the amount of work I asked them to do. The vents would have been hidden from the outside by the soffit although, being pours the air would have been vented through. I climbed into the attic to inspect expecting to see light coming through the vent holes from outside. I saw nothing. No light at all. The baffles were there but they were the crappy cardboard ones that collapse after the sheeting went back on. The bathroom and kitchen fan vents were regular roof vents. I questioned them about them but they assured me that everything was done correctly and those are the vents they always use without any problems. I thought that perhaps the low profile vent cap they used would just blow the exhausted air directly on the singles (common sense) and melt the snow in winter and create ice dams. He assured me they wouldn't. Yup, that's exactly what happens. Ice dams all over below both vents. Plus the vents they used freezes up in winter so I need to take apart my fan a couple of times a week and blow my shop vac through the vents to blow open the flappers. I found them to be very expensive and arrogant when I questioned their work. I suspect my soffit vents consist of nothing more than a drill hole. No light comes through. The baffles are useless as they all collapsed after they put the sheeting back on. The vents they use were confirmed by a plumbing place to be the wrong vents just as I thought. I now have to hire someone to install proper vents. My baffles and eve vents I cannot do anything about unless I put off my soffits and redo them myself. Expensive company, crappy workmanship, cheep products, and arrogant managers. I would never recommend to anyone. read more

I got new shingles, drip edge, ice/water membrane, underlayment, turbo vents...etc., and a fancy warranty. While arranging this in person at their office, I was given a yellow copy of a form with some faint notations on it. But the rep said I would be getting an extremely detailed list of everything they're doing. When I realized this would not be a contract, but a report, sent weeks after the job was complete, I asked for a real contract, not just a yellow paper with very little on it, he refused. I should have backed out then - my bad. That winter I researched replacing my attic insulation and adding roof vents. I briefly emailed Wheatland about my plan to add roof vents, and they confirmed that the only way to preserve my warranty was to have them do the work. In the Spring, I had the old insulation removed and called Wheatland. A different representative promptly scheduled an appointment to do an inspection and an estimate. But Wheatland failed to show up for the appointment. I called and the rep apologized profusely and made another appointment for the next day. But they missed that one too! Again I called. But now the language had changed and they would only mention coming over if they had spare time. They missed a third "appointment." When I asked what was going on, the person said they normally charge 300 bucks for the estimate. I asked why are they only telling me this now? They said it was because I was such a good customer. This didn't make any sense, of course. But I was actually too angry to think straight. So I said I would consider this further and hung up. I'm feeling very frustrated. I really don't want to contact them again. Also, when I had the insulation removed and got a look underneath the roof deck, I noticed several things that worried me: where the chimney was removed, there is now nothing to support the roof deck but a trisected rafter with the middle part missing; the original tongue & groove deck is cracked and broken where the turbo-vents were installed; where the old vents were removed, there appears to be some sort of metal covering (don't know if that's ok or not). read more
