TL;DL/The Short Version: Home improvement/hardware store…read more Very big. Ok selection of indoor plants in March. The Long Version: We are looking for a new sink for our laundry room, so stopped by this Home Depot to look at sinks. They had a few options which we are considering. Since I recently started getting into plants, I also took a look at their indoor plants section. It was March and the selection was not bad. The plants were in ok shape in general. No plants looked in really rough shape like I saw at the RONA down the street. However, I was looking for a Pilea Peperomioides and they had quite a few at a good price ($7.99), but none nice and healthy enough that I wanted to take home. They all had some scarred, yellowing or dead leaves. They had some cute succulents though that I would have gotten if I was in the market for them at the time. Plants at big box stores don't usually get the best care, but they are much cheaper than at speciality shops, so that's the trade-off. Plants, aside, this Home Depot location is really big and has all the usual items you need for home improvement projects. The washrooms here were exceptionally clean during my visit and I like how the exit door is a push and not a pull. I hate having to pull a handle after I have freshly washed my hands, lol. This location is a bit tucked away, you can't see it from the street. Lots of free parking. Review #89 (2025)

Went to get paint for a cabinet project that I'm doing. I ended up leaving the store empty-handed…read more The person in the paint department was completely oblivious. He wasted the paint, told me that he couldn't mix a quart because it doesn't fit in the machine and it wasn't the right size??!! Home Depot should really invest more time into training their staff or not leaving staff that are un knowledgable and unable to do their job to serve the public. Thankfully, we were able to get help at the neighbouring Rona.. Gabe at Rona is super knowledgable and outstanding and knows a lot about paint unlike those working at Home Depot.

I have had an unsuccessful attempt to get warranty or replacement parts for a $600.00 item that…read morefailed after a few months of service. Customer service sent me on several goose chases to finally end up at the same contact message after 8 months of follow-up. Formal case numbers included and zero contact. I followed all requested for information and then was told to contact Rona....which ended up in the same situation. I offered to pay for the parts needed to fix the problem myself and got more misguided information. Now I have no choice but to throw a massive garden structure into the landfill and pay for a new one. NOT a friendly or sustainable company. I would not recommend dealing with Rona as they are unethical in business practices.

Verdict: I will never, ever, EVER shop at Lowes again. I would rather pay $50 more than ever…read moreallow Lowes the chance to sell me something again. A couple weeks back I bought a carpet here. I drove to Orleans from the West end of ottawa for a specific carpet, and I had a coupon that was emailed to me online for $10 off my purchase. After racking up over a $400 bill, I was rudely informed by the store wannabe manager that the $10 coupon was only for online orders. When I asked them if they would rather me leave the carpet at the cash, go home and order it online and have it delivered for free, I was informed that I may have to just to have a measly $10 coupon honoured. In the day and age where human jobs are rapidly being replaced by machines, I would have expected the wannabe manager to honour a coupon that amounted to less than 1% of the total purchase. I guess there is a reason Jeff Bezos is doing so well........
