I am a semi local, first off the music and the food is good. That being said some of the bartenders come off as rude, on a slow night more than once I have sat down, get a drink and from there im ignored. I can drink at home if I wanted, this is supposed to be a social atmosphere as it really that hard to be the slightest bit friendly? Its happened more than once and it just kills the mood. After that I just decide to walk around the courthouse and not in some boring bar where im not even acknowledged. read more

Located at the downtown Prescott, it feels like travelled back to old west time. Plenty of bars for bar hopping. I really liked the swing doors as seen on old west movies. They also have lots of shops selling cow boys stuff, fun place to walk around. Price on goods were fair. I didn't find much of great deals here. Fun area to walk around, but we came on week days and discovered a majority of the shops close by 6pm We promised the kids ice cream one night and had saw an ice cream/treat place during the day but when we went at 630 (after dinner) found it to be closed We are hoping to come back and visit the saloons when we don't have our children with us We did enjoy the old structures and history to read about. I love coming out to Whiskey Row with friends when I come visit them. It's charming in it's own right filled with history of days past and has a great village square feel. Filled with bars/saloons, restaurants, galleries and boutique stores, hotels and all sorts of other establishments. You can easily spend a whole day just venturing about and checking out various establishments. You can't miss Courthouse Plaza smack in the middle of it all with it's grand courthouse building, grassy areas and statues. We have been coming here for several years and it never seems to disappoint us! They have some of the biggest chicken tenders I've ever had my eyes on, four fingers big! They have an amazing selection of craft beers to choose from. The bartender are very rare to find one that can make a true black & tan and they can make them! This is a very relaxing environment with lots of cool decorations and history. I would highly recommend stopping in and checking them out! A special shout out to our waitress who was very accommodating and funny! She was fast and made sure we had a great time. This place really does have down home values. Whiskey Row is a fun stop if you are up in Prescott. It's located on Montezuma, one of the four streets that border the Court House area. About a year ago, there was a terrible fire and most of the turn of the last century buildings burned down. History tells us the same thing happened 110 years ago. Well, Whiskey Row is back and a better than ever. The street is now made up of Art galleries and yes -- saloons and biker bars. But since we were up here for the 10th Annual "Whiskey Off-Road Bike Race, it was a different sort of biker. LOL Enjoy! read more

Whiskey Row is a blast! (the wild west lives on) There are about 20 bars in the general downtown Prescott, AZ area, and about 10 in a row on one block... Amazing little pubs which all feature live bands on the weekends with NO COVER. Drinks are cheap and the crowd is fun (half locals and half tourists). If you come to Prescott, you have to come to Whiskey Row. It is the entertainment center of this area with a good collection of bars, restaurants and shops. This large courthouse square is a great place to hangout. Parking is usually adequate. With Prescott being so high above sea level, afternoon and evening temps are usually quite pleasant which enhances your stroll. I always enjoy coming here when I am in town. read more

My friend has a house up in the mountains above town - it's quite a hike to make it down to the main plaza, and because we were limited in time, she choose Whisky Row as the place to bring us with only 2 hours to wander around. Loved the combination of souvenir shops, funky bars, quirky souvenir shops and people-watching. The street has done a terrific job of maintaining its "personality." We got lucky and got great parking, but come early if there is an event going on. read more

One of the fun bars ironically as they call it on Whiskey Row period has been around for many many years has a good mix of locals and tourists. They pour nice drinks and have a good selection of liquor. I prefer a few other spots right on Whiskey Row but they're all right next to each other so you can definitely check them all out and see which one you like the best. Although only a block or two long, this strip act so much history and uniqueness into it. What is probably the crown jewel of whiskey road today, is the palace. The bar and brothel where folks like Wyatt Earp and doc Holliday frequency. Today, it is a well-known restaurant that displays all of the original antique charm. There's a very large separate bar upstairs from the restaurant that has elevator access, which comes in handy after enjoying some whiskey on whiskey row. The storefronts along the street have many items in their windows that are handmade and found nowhere else. Everything from jewelry and knickknacks to Western Wear. There are also several other restaurants and bars on that block which all some of the best in the area. Pretty likely you will run into panhandlers there, especially at night. read more

A bunch of my friends and I just went there this past weekend to celebrate my birthday and we had a BLAST! We started the night at the Prescott Brewing Co. with dinner and drinks. Definitely did not disappoint! Everyone enjoyed their appetizers and dinners and we all left with full bellies, not to mention an excellent buzz, to enjoy the night out on the Row! Despite the large crew, our service was great and the girl did a good job getting everyone's order right. First was the Irish bar then on to Lilly's with the patio...both of which were crowded but not uncomfortably so. The eleven of us didn't have to feel alienated from each other all night and we all had a great time. After those two places, we headed further down the row and encountered a few bars we didn't want to pay to drink at, so we walked back to the main drag and ended up at Scottie's to round out the night. I liked that all of these pretty cool bars were in a row and if you didn't like one, you could just walk out of one door and right into another. Right across the street from the Square. I will never come back to this bar. Bruce the owner or manager not sure which, is spineless and has very poor customer service. I was with a group of 6 and spent most of the day (4th of July) in the bar,we had tickets for the rodeo and before leaving asked about using the chips (buy one get one) after the rodeo and was told yes. Upon returning from the rodeo we were told there would be a cover charge....and after explaining we still had chips and was told we could use them they declined our business. So again Bruce, I know my lack of business won't hurt you, but I will let everyone know what kind of businessman you aren't !!!! And by the way you may want to inform your security staff of AZ Bar laws and regulations because I can assure you that I will ruin them. read more

About half a dozen watering holes that i noticed, but several more were scattered about town and I'm not sure those are considered official Whiskey Row bars (a sign points to only certain bars). On the official stretch there was a pretty young crowd milling about and smoking away outside. One bar had a balcony, another had an older crowd, one was in a hotel up a long flight of stairs and also spotted one greasy spoon for late night munching. one bar that had more grey hairs. Alot of these reviews are pre-fire and it appears that the number of bars have decreased. There may have been other businesses on this stretch, but it was dark and they were closed. I would recommend the spice shop though and the Meadery just up the block from Whiskey Row. A few cops roaming around, so if you have to drive back to your hotel make sure you time things right. read more

After not visiting Prescott, AZ. for a couple of years, I was surprised at how the locals treat visitors. We pulled into a parking place to be immediately have the F bomb hurled at us! I was very dismayed to see how the saloons on whisky row have moved away from the traditional country music that you can dance to, in favor of the loud, thumping new wave kind of country-ish music. The dancers seem to think throwing their partners around on the dance floor is dancing. One young lady just missed cracking her head on our table by a hairs breath when her partner dipped her, pulled her up, and twirled her around at the speed of light. Whisky Row has a lot going for it. First, you are in Prescott, cooler weather than Phoenix and mountain views. Second, you have amazing architecture, most dating from around 1900 (After a fire, much of this part of town was rebuilt.) Then you have the collection of bars and pubs. Live bands seemed to provide most of the entertainment on a Friday night, with styles from rockabilly and lounge covers to country and rock. No cover charges made bar hopping easy, and the proximity of most bars meant we didn't get too cold walking from one to the other. It was very easy to do a traditional pub crawl; we had basically one drink at each place before moving on. Our hotel was on Whisky Row, so there was no need for a cab or to deal with driving. For a quick overnight trip from Phoenix, this was a great getaway. read more

Disappointing. There's not a single place that has a good whisky selection. It's just simply the old name referring to a strip of run down bars in the downtown area. Prices are high, with the same old stuff you can get at any bar in Arizona. If you want something worthwhile then to to the Raven or Prescott Brewing downtown. read more

The strip of asphalt, less than a mile from end to end.... (if you can find the ends), known as Whiskey Row, turned out to be a good location to celebrate " Cinco De Drinco". Save time, money and possible future court dates, by using the downtown parking facility provided, and put your keys in a safe spot, you would be needing a car from this point on. My expectation for a short celebration was soon upgraded to an extended "Pub Crawl". To the left the Lyzzard's Lounge a bar you appreciate for an interesting crowd, who, if you are around late enough, you will get the opportunity to see really "smashed". Some thing about this bar?....it's magical. There's no question in that Lyzzard's has the cutest bar staff in Prescott, Except for the bar back.....sorry dude, but I'm sure he has his fans too. Standard of band playing are always good. There's Sundance's Place. Brigett (that's not how she spells it) owns the bar and tends the bar and brings you drinks when you ask for them. She practically perfect, and the bands rock, no really Turn right to the Bird Cage, Prescott's Biker Bar and really the best place to see people, if you're into people? Business men and hobos, biker chicks and classic locals, Mary Ann and Lynn (sister's) and really good bartender's and "The Cage" has the friendliest bouncer I have ever met. Then on to Coyote Joe's, coolest bar in town and the most crowded, more and more these days. The Raven Cafe, Murphy's Restaurant, Jersey Liliy"s, Matt's Saloon, Donna's Hut, The Palace.....just walk on by the Palace, The Grill, HoldFast Tattoo is open.....no tattoos... tonight. I believe it happened in this (almost ) order. Not to forget the night cap PBRs on the top level of the parking complex. Actually a confined space for the adults to ride the rides and taste the wares, there's not really any rides, however rides would only make it better, and more then a few nauseous. I. Love. This. Place. After you enjoy the Courthouse Square or meet your friends you head to Whiskey Row. I lived there after graduating college and thus was Friday and Saturday night. Start at one end and make your way to the other. It was a wonderful time and you always had a favorite saloon. During the day there are touristy shops in addition to some great old and established Prescott businesses. The facades of the buildings and the swinging bar doors take you back to the Wild West. It us not unusual to see people in costume working in the establishments. I have always felt welcome wherever I go and yhe cocktails are delightful! I think a Whiskey Row crawl is something everyone in Arizona should do at least once. Go up where the air is rarer, the pace is slower and the whiskey pours freely. read more
