It feels a tad bit "unsafe". I'd avoid coming here alone. That said, it is one of the only (the only?) fenced in dog parks.

There's 5 or 6 designated "off leash" parks in Anchorage, but if Fido is exactly trust worthy off leash, this is your spot. It's surprisingly and mercifully poop-free. Thankfully it seems people actually do understand and take to heart the implications of not cleaning up after their furry charges. It's seems dog ownership is a fraternity of sorts in Anchorage and they're a lovely group of friendly people who enjoy interacting with each other as much as the fluffy puppies. It's quite lovely. As for the park itself, it's just the right size with the perfect mix of trees, open space, sun and shade. There's a few benches in the shady side for lazy dog owners, but I do wish there were a few perches on the sunny side so I could work on my Alaska tan while Fido burns off some energy. All in all, this is a great little park. There's even a small assortment of playground equipment outside the doggy area.

The initial dog fee isn't what I'd call cheap, especially if you're bringing one dog only (and in all honesty when I first heard of an indoor dog "park" I'm thinking why would I pay money for that but AK can get cold - poor pup's feet!) but for a group gathering, it's well worth it! This is my first time here but I think you likely get the whole room to yourself with the reservation - so note - if you are bringing your dog in hopes to meet other dogs, please be sure to contact owner Amy to see if that's an option. It looks like they also offer training classes, do definitely check it out! Amy is responsive via her online reservation request form and coordinates all by email. It's easy to go over an hour, just a warning!

This south Anchorage unleashed dog park + lake has a few trails…read more A dog owner waited for me to get our pup in the vehicle before letting his out --definitely considerate. Again, this dog park is unleashed, if dogs running up to you, isn't your thing. The wide maintained trail starts on Jewel Lake (more parking here) and ends on Raspberry (less parking here). This dog park is very popular (visitors at all hours) so it's a good thing it's size-able. Bring mosquito repellent especially and prepare for mud. The bugs are absolutely ruthless here due to the lake.

They have double-doors for dog-security and there's almost always folks here with dogs. I don't have a dog, so I usually go here with friends that do...or worse...I'm a creeper in here with no dogs....trying to get a pet in. (I've tried to get dogs, believe me, but it's hard as a renter) The dog park also gets a lot of activity in the winter, so there's a decent bootpack and good access.

All of my kids have played here and enjoyed the offerings. Surprisingly, there isn't a single swing at this park FYI. But still tons to do, to keep the kids entertained. There is a man-made pond front and center. Lots of birds + bird poop. Lots of walking/biking trails here. Lots of space to lay out. Tons of space to hold events here. I attended some of the best music festivals/concerts with mountain backdrop here; but due to disagreements with the city and the unhoused population, the space isn't utilized for these purposes anymore. Highly recommend.

This year I spend most of winter exploring Kincaid park via my cross country skis…read more Holy cow the park is HUGE! Previously I've only really explored the paved trail going down to the beach and connecting to Earthquake Park. If you are a beginner xc skier, I recommend starting at the stadium and slowly doing the smaller mize loop. This is where I built my confidence for 2-3 weeks before moving to the "blue rated" Jodphur loop. Kincaid has so much to offer and I am so glad I had the opportunity to explore it from the perspective of my skis!
