Amazing staff, some are a bit... antisocial lol, can't blame them though. The indoor pool is amazing, as is the jacuzzi and sauna! We stayed in one of the lake house's directly in front of the lake and it is so peaceful listing to the waves clash. The big bed is super comfortable. I personally have no issues with this place at all! Their breakfast options are a little small, but yummy! by far the best cinnamon rolls from a hotel for sure. Warm, soft and the cream cheese glaze is amazing! Their food prices are a bit... ridiculous, almost $50 for two people, but the food is pretty decent.

We drove cross country from California with the goal of finding some peace, quiet and hopefully some distance from all the Covid madness, fortunately and rather by happenstance, we came across Clear View! From the very beginning John, the owner, was extremely attentive and an absolute pleasure to work with. John and his wife Trudy went above and beyond to make my family and I feel welcome, comfortable and safe in their gem of a resort. In our time there, we stayed in two separate cabins. The level of attention and detail that goes into the cleaning and resetting of the cabins is above anything my wife and I have ever seen, no detail was missed. By the way, every single cabin has been very recently remodeled down to the studs. The end result being modern, clean and very comfortable. The kitchen cabins are fully stocked with many thoughtful details which even a gourmet cook would appreciate. In the living rooms, our cabins had large screen TV's and high speed WiFi. The internet speed allowed my wife and I as well as our kids to conduct multiple Zoom meetings simultaneously with no issues. The bedrooms were cozy, and the beds outstanding in comfort. Outside of the cabins we enjoyed the amenities available at the resort. They included stand up paddle boards, paddle boat, bikes, a HUGE rope swing and a small yet clean and super kid friendly sandy beach. I could go on and on about the resort, but will end by saying that we are already planning on spending more time at the resort next summer and look forward to seeing our super hosts John & Trudy once again.

As such it's not ideally suited as a guest room, but it was all they had when we reserved. The main room is enormous, with tables and chairs for 20 diners, upholstered furniture, large fireplace and windows overlooking the gathering area and A-frame, and the lake. Not exactly intimate, but anything but cramped. Large and modern kitchen (plates, bowls and mugs for dozens of people, flatware for less than half that). Gas grill worked great, good char on our steaks. Bedroom layout was haphazard, again being a repurposed common area, but more than enough room for the 7 of us. 2 showers (hot water is metered, our shower was lukewarm), huge washer and dryer. Not a lot of privacy as the main windows faced the grassy gathering area but they have privacy glass, and ppl minded their own business. Hate to say it but their pizza may be the worst I've ever had, including take-and-bake, and most frozen. Edible, but not by a lot. Burnt on one half, and mistakenly half cheese only. Sausage and pepperoni on the other half almost non existent. Bring your own food or drive to town (Luekens grocery in Bemidji was outstanding). Staff were all very nice and accommodating. I liked it, others not as much.

Very clean, up kept, many utensils in the cabinets and more! I can't say enough about how welcoming the Putnam's are. (New Owners) They are there when you have a question, will help you with what you need and are very accommodating. We rented a pontoon and got to explore the lake and get some fishing in. The lake itself is great. Pretty quiet, big and great for swimming. I will recommend this place to all of my family and friends! We hope to be back next summer and enjoy Kohl's resort for even longer.

Ahh Jammers. This…read morecould take a while. In the five years that I have been frequenting Bemidji for CLV, i have never found a more entertaining bar. We are always up to no good there, flirting with Sjolundeners or the folk from Skogfjorden. Its a hole in the wall for sure, but has a lot of charm. I dream about Jammers in my sleep. I wish there were places like it in California. Maybe I'll open one. Its on a HUGE piece of property that allows for all kinds of shenanigans (sp?) to take place. From cheap shots, to the "Birthday" drink (a HUGE concoction of alcohol in a giant martini glass) You'll never want for anything. Except maybe a larger bank account. "Matthieu, I need 20 bucks for shots" is my favourite phrase often uttered at this bar. Man. I love you Jammers. From Amazing Grace with the live band to dancing up a storm to odd German pop, this bar could not be better. In the summer that is. Concordia folk always make places interesting, and maybe that is part of the charm. You will never meet a nicer group of bar tenders or locals in your life though. ahh the Northwoods and all of its splendour.

The new barn is made from repurposed wood from a train trestle and is unsurpassed in craftsmanship. The bride's room is a little small, might have too many cute pieces of furniture in it to be real functional. All the tables and chairs are relatively new, so they are in great shape. The chairs are different from most venues, and are beautiful. All the tables are an assortment of shapes and sizes, with the bridal party table smack dab in the middle of the immense room. Perfect. there is a permanent built in bar that I have seen in other barn venues too. Good call!! There is a covered area for the caterers to set up a buffet that is nice. The BATHHOUSE, (privy) is small, but cute cute cute. Outside tables offer a pleasant place for guests to mingle and socialize. The parking area is sooooooooooo far away from the barn, that the cutest red and white shuttle wagon pulled by a red truck is in continuous trips. All night. The area for wedding ceremonies is awkward and slightly difficult to get to, as it is slightly hilly. A golf cart type open vehicle is provided for older or non really-that-mobile people. Whew! The area for chair set up is rather uncomfortable as it is on a hill. And the place for the bride, groom , and bridal party is totally uneven and very difficult for bridesmaids to navigate in heels. Standing there for an entire ceremony was difficult to do without feeling like you were going to fall over. Maybe if it was leveled and smooth cobblestones were installed it would make for a more pleasant experience. The remote remote location makes it a little difficult to find.
