Had gas syphoned out of our SUV. There is a lack of cameras and I don't think they work. We parked against a side wall and this provided enough cover to be robbed. Did not see anyone patrolling the facility. Park in view of a camera and hope they work. read more

Whitaker Street Parking Garage - Parking Near Me - Savannah, Georgia

The surly parking attendant at this garage is over the top. She has a handicapped assistant that she manages. The two of them arbitrarily decided to change the entire direction of traffic when I parked in this garage. I followed the giant arrows painted on the floor, but for some inexplicable reason, this made them both furious. The lady yelled at me, and her assistant ran after my car and banged his fists on the trunk of my car. Needless to say the experience was frightening and highly confrontational. The second time I visited this parking deck the same angry parking attendant came out of her kiosk and angrily featured that I should drive over the 3 foot tall yellow plastic lane markers, and exit though a different lane. This attendant is extremely angry and lacks common sense. read more

Built in 2008, the Whitaker Street Parking Garage is an underground garage. It is very conveniently located near a number of hotels, the historic district, and the River Street businesses. The garage lets you out in Ellis Square. Parking is $2 and hour with a maximum if $16. They also have monthly rates. I ended up at this garage because Savannah was founded before cars were invented. In all of these old towns parking is difficult. Savannah's solution to lack of parking was to build city garages. When you stay in Savannah you quickly find out that your hotel doesn't include parking as was the case with the Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Historic District that I recently stayed at. Not wanting to pay the $35 valet charge to park my car at the hotel I opted to park at Whitaker. It was a decision I continually cursed throughout my visit. Of course there was no parking on the ground floor and I was forced down to the third level. That would have been fine except for the fact that the elevator was broken requiring you to take the stairs that reeked of urine. If you visit Savannah you will quickly learn that they do not offer public toilets anywhere. Every business has a sign that says they don't allow you to use the restroom. The result is that people pee on the street and the whole city smells like urine. Nowhere more so than the stairwell of the Whitaker Parking garage. Add to that it was 100 degrees and I had to climb three flights. After a couple of visits to the car I was seriously regretting my cheapness. I kept telling myself it was like going to the gym for the stair climber. During one trip I had to step over someone who had passed out. The only silver lining to this garage was that they didn't charge for parking during my stay. The gate was open and you could drive through. It seemed safe enough and my vehicle was okay during the overnight hours. With the lack of parking this garage may be your only option, especially during the weekend. That smell, though. How convenient was this place for us! Right across the street from our Hyatt hotel, as well as only a block from the famous marketplace of restaurants, live music, and bars. The place is underground and they gave stairs and a couple of elevators. It's very clean around this place. We parked here for two days as we explored the town on foot and it only cost us $10! read more

Whitaker Street Parking Garage (WSPG) is another parking garage owned by the City of Savannah, along with Robinson, Liberty, Bryan and State Street. It is conveniently located right next to Ellis Square, the City Market and minutes away from a slew of popular businesses and eateries. A few things to note about WSPG: - open 24/7, 365 - the hourly rates for WSPG is double that of the City's other parking garages in the historic district at $2/hour and a maximum rate of $16 during the day, during the week. Like the other parking garages, it has cheaper rates during the evenings and on weekends. - unlike the City's other parking garages in the Historic District, WSPG is an underground parking garage and it has four levels, equipped with elevators and stairwells. - one of the pedestrian exits come right out at the Visitors Info Center/Police Station and there are restrooms there which is super convenient and they are actually kept pretty clean for a public bathroom out in the city. Great option for parking, but make sure you check the time. With the double rates, it adds up quick! read more

While staying in Savannah at the Hyatt I had a few choices for parking; valet, street, or parking garage. Valet for $38 a day was way too much and street parking would have required a lot of quarters, so parking garage it was. I parked in the Whitaker Street Parking Garage across from the Hyatt on the Sunday and Monday night we stayed there. Sunday parking was free in and out and because I got up early enough on Monday morning I was able to get out free and come back and only have to pay $16 for overnight parking on Monday. So I saved quite a bit of change and time parking in the parking garage rather than using the hotel valet and street parking. The parking garage is convenient for those staying or visiting the River Street area. My only complaint was since it is underground more lighting would be nice; it was just dark enough to not feel completely safe. read more

I parked here in a Saturday night, had to go all the way down to P4 because it was so packed, but I did eventually find a spot. They are sticklers so if it was don't park there, don't. It cost $5, which is great. I've been charged as much as $15 on a Saturday. They have bathrooms in this garage too. It's really close to river street and lots of restaurants. read more

Whitaker Street Parking Garage - The deepest depths - Parking Near Me - Savannah, Georgia

The Whitaker Street Parking Garage is located on the west side of Whitaker Street between Bay and Bryan. To access the garage main entrance off Whitaker, you must be driving south along Whitaker since it's a one way street. This garage uses a ticket system so you'll need to keep this ticket to track the time you've used parking in this garage. Essentially the pricing is 2 dollars an hour to a maximum of 16 dollars over 24 hours. If you exceed the 24th hour a new 2 dollar per hour cycle begins again to a maximum of 16 for that day. I had spent just under 24 hours but more than 8 hours so my fee was 16. This parking structure along with several other lots scattered through out the city are municipal parking (City of Savannah) and this one is well kept and well lit. There are specified spots for smaller vehicles and larger vehicles alike (compact vs pick up etc). The elevators are accessible from the street level and there's two entrances. One is toward Bay street near the Starbucks and the other is the alley that leads towards Ellis Square. There's no machine to feed for your ticket so it's pay at the exit kiosk gate on the way out. I ended up choosing this lot to park over night because it made more sense to park here as opposed to using valet services at the hotel we were staying at because to park there was almost double (30 a day). 16 a day over 24 hours is much more reasonable and although there's no in and out as compared to valet, it made more sense for us since we didn't drive in Savannah during our stay except to leave. read more

Great parking garage in downtown Savannah. Prices were cheap but there is no in/out privileges which would have been a nice addition.

What do you ask for in a parking garage? Safety for yourself, vehicle and belongings. That's it. Very central location for the Savannah historical district. You have to pay for parking just about EVERYWHERE in Savannah so once out I left the car here for most of the day. Price is $2 per hour $15 for the day $15 lost ticket fee. read more

I was only there for a couple of hours in Savannah. Very close to Riverstreet. Parking garage was clean and only cost $2 for those hours. My draw back is there were no attendants and the person in front of us was having issues. Everyone in line had to back up. Not sure how they got it. Other than than, I will park there every time, it certainly beats $38 a day at the hotel! read more

This is right next door to the Andaz and parking here was cheaper than the hotel. I think it was $16 for the night. Plus, they have electric chargers right next to the cashier's window. The down side is that charging is super slow and limited to three hours. In three hours, my Tesla barely charged for 30-40 miles. Now I made the mistake of returning back to the room leaving the car plugged with plans to return back shortly. Unfortunately, by the time I was back, they had already ticketed me for leaving the car charging for more than 3 hours! Owned by the city of Savannah-the greediest bunch of crooks ever! If you provide the option to charge a car, at least allow a reasonable amount of charge time! Next time, I'll skip your city and stay at Hilton Head! lol read more
