On this particular day I ordered Al a carte--2 soft scramble eggs with cheese, hash browns with onions and ham, and one pancake. Listen, I still feel how I felt previously about the okra, so I'll just refrain from ordering that in the future. Otherwise, I'll continue to support this hometown establishment.

We decided to stay and try out other things on their menu. I had the hamburger steak with gravy and onions corn nuggets, green beans and garlic bread. The garlic bread I don't recommend as the garlic was burnt and you know how that can taste. The rest of my food was cooked perfectly and seasoned with what I like to call "seasoned to perfection". My daughter had the shrimp platter with fries which she cleaned her plate. The shrimps were huge compared to fried shrimps around this area, they were also fresh and flavorful. My Husband had the classic cheese burger which was good but he didn't rave about it the way I raved about my food . Thank you to the Manager on duty Jackie she was so kind and helpful to us while our visit here. We will be back for breakfast as a family as I am dying to try their French toast and perhaps other things on their menu.

Things have started feeling different--the atmosphere is less welcoming than it used to be. On a recent visit, there was some confusion regarding the corned beef hash. I was previously told they were out of corned beef (which implied it was homemade), only to find it was canned on a subsequent visit. When I politely asked about this, and about why the dish was served with an additional side of hash browns--which contained onions and peppers that I am allergic to--the interaction became uncomfortable. The conversation with our waiter took an unexpected turn when he asked if we were "Yankees." When I confirmed we were from the North, he remarked, "It figures," and accused me of having an "attitude" when I merely questioned the menu composition. The experience concluded at the register. When we were charged 79 cents for extra salsa instead of the 50 cents we were quoted, an older woman stepped in. When I politely pointed out the price discrepancy, she was dismissive and snotty, turning her back on us while we were still speaking. When I asked about "the customer is always right," it was clear service--and kindness--no longer seemed to be a priority. It is disheartening because the food has historically been consistent, and we truly miss the days when staff like Ami made us feel welcome. I am not writing this for a refund or a correction; I simply wanted to share my perspective. Everyone has a bad day, but to lose a long-time customer over such a minor interaction is a shame. While I personally won't be returning after being treated that way, I still hope those who enjoy the food continue to support the business. I just hope that, moving forward, the team remembers that kindness matters as much as the meal itself.

I enjoyed the Western omelette--add spinach + hash browns--add onions; DELICIOUS!! I have to admit that it is better than the local Waffle House there in town. Get there at a decent time, because it does draw a crowd, mainly locals and truck drivers passing through.

Waffle House is a pretty familiar sight here in the southeastern part of the United States. Waffle House is a chain of restaurants geared to give a consistent greasy spoon diner experience (and I say that in a positive way) with a cook cooking up everything behind the counter and served by a friendly enough staff. Waffle House generally captures that greasy spoon diner ambiance and vibe. They are not a huge place, but if you drove through the southeastern United States, you more than likely have seen their bright yellow buildings. My usual go-to at a Waffle House is usually their patty melt or maybe one of their breakfasts centered around eggs. Despite the fact that the word "waffle" is literally in their business name, I have never had a waffle at a Waffle House. I prefer a savory breakfast over a sweet breakfast. The real star at Waffle House, at least in my opinion, is their hash browns, which you can have topped with a slew of various toppings. I usually mix it up, but chili and cheese is usually in the mix, along with several other things. Again, this to me is what makes Waffle House unique in its selection. This Waffle House overall is a good representation of the brand and it is an overall good place to head to for a meal. I would definitely recommend here and will give it four stars.

It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life. Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try.

However, because we were fewer than 12 guests, the owner came over, insulted us, and told us to leave that area, saying it was not intended for small groups. Perhaps what she said was technically correct, but the way she said it completely ruined any desire we had to return to this restaurant. We moved to the area we were instructed to use without arguing or complaining. No one even apologized for the uncomfortable situation they put us through. As we were leaving, we took a quick look at the private room we had been asked to leave, and there was only one group of six people sitting there, eating and chatting. That made us wonder whether we had been moved because of prejudice rather than the restaurant's seating policy.
