Had them come out to check my cooling system today. $120 for the service call, sounds good. The service itself was fine, however, I was charged $200 for one pound of R22 Freon because it's supposedly very expensive according to the technician. After the technician left, I viewed current online pricing for R22. I found prices for a 5 lb cylinder of $200 and 10 lb. cylinder for $350. In short, I was way overcharged. Never again White. I went with you because you're the largest company in town and figured I wouldn't have any issues using your company. Folks, steer clear of White Heating and Air. Read reviews and go to a different company and you'll likely pay less and have a fair experience. read more

Prompt friendly service. Came within the same day I called. The part that needed replacement is available form supply houses for $30.00 (exact same part number). They charged me $148.00 for the part in addition to the service charge. I can understand having parts available and needing to add a profit in the part price but over 400% increase is a bit much. read more

They may come up as able to replace a hot water heater but don't bother calling them. Had them come to your house for a quote/estimate. Originally we wanted an on demand water heater but that was going to be far more than we are willing to pay at this time. Old house and old house problems. So my husband requested a quote for a regular water heater also. No problem, will email that to you. We wait and wait. I end up calling and asking if the quote bounced back or something. Oh no, he hasn't done it yet. Will get on him to get it done. Next day, still nothing so I call again and get this line that he is heading out on a job and can't get it to us and there are issues he needs to discuss with us. The SAME issues he discussed with hubby days ago. They call my hubby and give him the same lecture about what would need to be done. Then tells him that he doesn't think he can do the job, he has a bad back and the kid who helps him has a bad toe. The steps are steep and they aren't sure they can get a water heater down there. Funny how we got one down there when the water heater died (lousy replacement which is why we are at this point again). And the last guy had no problem. Purchased a house in Billings where they had recently installed a new furnace and air conditioner. When a/c wasn't working I called them. Their repairman came out and told me they did not install enough return air and their least experienced and worst employees do installs, so things like this frequently happen. I didn't think I should pay for their mistake, so I went to their office to plead my case. The owner asked if we purchased the unit, I said, No, but it is a very recently installed unit from the previous owner and their stickers are all over the unit. Their troubleshooter stated the install lacked the proper amount of return air the unit requires. He stated the warranty only covers for the original purchaser of the unit. I had to pay $2,850 to get the unit the proper amount of returned air. I would never use them or recommend them to anyone. If you install it, install it properly or fix the problem at no cost. I guess if you already got paid you hold all the cards. Evidently with White it is all about getting the money for an install that they may do correctly, but if they don't install it correctly, you can just charge them more and make even more money. My humidifier was not working properly (some steam, but not much) so I called Whites to send someone to troubleshoot it. The tech they sent out told me upfront, "I don't know much about these things". After spending about half an hour on the phone with Aprilaire, he told me that they said I needed to replace my humidistat. Thank goodness I knew enough to know that my humidistat was working fine, otherwise I would have gone down a rabbithole of unnecessary repairs. After the tech left, I called Whites and politely let them know that I would not be paying for the humidifier service call because they sent over a tech who did not know anything about humidifiers. They tried to push a second service call on me "for free"; sorry, but sometimes gross incompetence means you don't get a second chance. I called a different HVAC co who come over and correctly diagnosed the issue: It needed 240V instead of the 120V we had plugged into it). I upgraded the voltage and the humidifier works great. Whites really wanted the money for their service call ($98). We went back and forth for about three months and then they send the bill to collections. From the other comments I have read here, it looks like White's has a pattern and practice of shady billing. They definitely will not back down, even if their "service call" was missing the "service". I will not be doing business with White's ever again. read more

Super thrilled with the service. I own a house in Lakeside, MT that is undergoing a remodel. I needed covers for the round ceiling vents in the basement. Stopped by on a whim to see what solutions they might have. They showed me the most up to date covers that slide in and attach to the pipe. Super easy to install and they look great. I really appreciate working with professionals that are willing to help and offer a solution. Keep in mind they did not have to even offer up anything. I did not buy a furnace from them nor have they ever serviced the home. The covers are $12 each. They look beautiful. read more

Scheduled White HVAC to do check of 2 gas fireplaces prior to winter use. No problems found, cleaned glass, checked for gas leaks, and explained safe operation. Was here about 1 hr due to going back and forth to truck at least 4 times. Then proceeded to charge me $215 ($130 for "service call" and $85 for "miscellaneous repairs".) This is a bunch of crap. We will not be using White HVAC in the future. read more

I really wanted to LOVE White Heating. I scheduled an appointment twice and they never did show up. I even called the second time and was assured my tech would be there in an hour or two, he was just running late. After taking two days off from work and no show we decided to go with someone else. We live in Big Timber. We purchased a Lennox furnace from White H & A in 2011. The installation went Great. We had some air flow problems and they fixed them at a reasonable price. We also had a warranty problem which they also fixed in a timely manner. We really felt good about the company. NOW-- Sept. 26, 2017, I called to see what it would cost to have someone come up and service our furnace ( it is not ramping up properly). They called back and told my wife that it would cost $395 to have a service person come up and look at it !!! This price would not include any labor for the service !! We feel that this is unreasonable as it is a 2 Hr. round trip. They must charge $200 per hour for their service people !!!!! read more

Alex spent extra time taking care of us and the new fireplace we had in our new home. It looks fantastic now and works perfectly.
