It was good to finally attend an event here. This event space was spacious enough to fit 20+ tables and they also had a large multi tiered crystal chandelier featuring numerous candle lights. They looked so pretty. Bar area was a decent sized one too. Restrooms were clean and maintained well. There are plenty of options for parking near the venue.

There was plenty of space for hundreds of us, and yet it never felt crowded. They pulled off the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and the after-party seamlessly. The rooftop and well-placed bars made everything flow effortlessly. At no point did we feel rushed, overwhelmed, or stuck waiting around--which is rare at big events. It was an incredibly fun night. If I ever had a large event to plan, The Abbott would be high on my list.

I'm only taking away a star because in the bridal suite where we all were getting ready the bathroom door kept getting stuck and the doorknobs would fall off. There was tape affixed to I think keep this from happening, but it kept latching anyways and at one point my six year old got trapped in there for a good while until we could finagle the door open to get her out. Each room has its own personality and is perfect for setting up specific vibes. We had food and the cake in one room, bar area in another and a dance floor in the main fireplace room. We had the wedding ceremony outside under the tree which was perfect. We loved the rooms upstairs. Charles was great to communicate with even when we accidentally left with 3 of their tables. The space is located just outside of Weston, and the ceremony area backs up to a beautiful field with a tobacco barn in the distance. They've done a lot of landscaping around the area, so there are flowers and mature trees any where you look! They've got two places outdoors where you can have an open-air wedding, and they even have a third space that's covered. Yay for an included rain plan! Christy and Kate, the owners, were wonderful to me throughout the wedding planning process! They returned my emails in a timely manner, and were easy to work with to make my dream wedding happen. I like that they allowed us to use several different things throughout the property without an additional charge. I even needed a small table for the ceremony and they took one right out of the management office for me to use for the day! These ladies know how to figure things out and make it work! When I got the hair brained idea that I wanted wedding pictures IN the tree out front, they found me a stepladder to make it happen. The only reason they didn't get five stars is because of a couple of snafu's during the months leading up to the wedding. About a month after we signed the contract, we got a letter from them saying that we suddenly had to pay taxes on something that wasn't included before. It wasn't a huge amount, but it was $200 or so that we hadn't planned on, and I'm still unsure of what exactly we were having to pay for. The other issue was that the lady (note that it was neither Kate or Christy, although they showed up later in the day) who was there while we decorated wasn't the most friendly. I never got the lady's name, but she criticized our drink choices, made fun of the decorations, and when I went to fill up a bucket of ice, she told me that it was too early to do so. (I knew I had guests coming in a couple of hours and I wanted to have the water bottles cold before they got there. I also knew that I wasn't going to have anyone around who could fill the buckets for me later, so what ended up happening? The groom and I filling up metal washtubs with ice...in our wedding outfits!) Nothing the lady did was really "bad" per se, just a bit unprofessional. The day was wonderful, and it wouldn't have been that way without Eventful. The place is moderately-priced, too, for the amount of space that you get, so it's definitely a place I would recommend!

We went with a 3 protein buffet (rotisserie chicken, roast beef carving station, salmon) with salad, rolls, and 2 sides. It was AMAZING-- easily the best wedding food I've ever had. Another bonus with TTOG is that they offer two day-of coordinators, which I couldn't have appreciated more. A few weeks before the wedding, we met with Emad to set a timeline for the night so that everything moved along smoothly as the night progressed. I dropped all my decor off (and a list of the ones I wanted to use from their supply) the week of the wedding, and they do all of the set up and tear down for us! Everything looked perfect the night of. We don't have a single complaint about the venue, Emad or Maggie, or the bar/serving staff. If anything went wrong, Emad or Maggie took care of it and we didn't notice a thing! For the price, they offered a lot more than any other venues downtown that we looked at, and came in at our projected budget. I cannot say enough nice things about TTOG and would 100% recommend them to another couple.

Which I liked since it helped give it a barn chic and it's a bit of a distance from downtown KC. I came for a wedding and I really liked the venue but it wasn't a breathe taking venue since it's beside the main road coming in and out of Weston from the highway. Apparently, it's hard to get a spot to reserve for the venue and I somewhat see why.The parking area to the main venue area is a climb especially if you have heels and/ or older guests with you. Do I recommend it? Yes but I might want to look other places since I don't feel like it's unique.

I walked in the front door and was greeted with gorgeous chandeliers that go all the way down the hall and into the ball room! To the left is a bridal parlor and the right is a grooms parlor. I loved the barn door closures in these rooms and was told they came from the old lifts/elevators in their building. Every square inch, every little detail has been so well thought out. The back bar is absolutely awesome that will rival any bar, anywhere! A WHOLE LOT OF LOVE WENT INTO THIS BUILDING! I just can't tell you how very, very cool this place is! The Gatsby is not only the most beautiful wedding venue I have ever seen, but a really great place to host many other events! The Gatsby can take on different forms...feminine or masculine! I asked about the bakery items available, since there were only three, and asked him whether there were any more available and he sarcastically said that he wasn't hiding any baked items. Excuse me, but sometimes coffee shops will have baked items that they haven't come around to displaying yet. I decided to order the scone, which he told me was a lemon scone, even though I told him that the white icing had speckles on it, similar to vanilla bean. He affirmed in a snotty way, "It's lemon." After I received the scone and took a bite, I knew that I was right. I asked for a refund in which he insisted that what I had was a lemon. I told him how it didn't taste like lemon but vanilla bean. He insisted again. Yes, we were doing this. He lamented that his bakery person told him that it was lemon. Hey, if your bakery person tells you lemon, it's not on me. He gave me the refund. The latte I received was supposed to be a pistachio latte, not a pistachio latte taste at all. I wasn't sure what it was.
