This is one of those stores that Marie Kondo would agree that it simply sparks joy. Their collections, wares, displays and arrangements are beautiful and whimsical. There are brands and products that I've seen at other stores but somehow they are arranged in a way that showcase their "purchase-ability". They always seasonally decorate and I enjoy it more than other Christmas displays. The pink tree and sparkling adornments really spark imagination and fuel gift giving ideas. They sell clothes, beauty items, boutique toys, homeware, stationery, candles, jewelry and even desserts up front. As you would expect, everything is quite pricey. Similar to many other reviews, the staff are not the warmest or friendliest people. I've asked a question or two and did not get the most helpful of responses but have experienced open rudeness either. If I lived in the area, this would be The place to go for gifts - so many choices! Home goods, soft goods, handbags, kids stuff - not the run of the mill crap you see everywhere, high end label fashion clothing, jewelry - it's a place you need to stop in and see. It's a place you need to keep in mind for later when you need a special gift for a special person or event. Its hard not to love this store. Its a frenzy of beauty stacked to every square inch with decor, accessories, jewelry, clothing, baby gifts, gardening and art. You can get effortlessly lost in the sea of beautiful wares. They have an interesting selection of high-end and costume jewelry housed in long cases. Its amazing how much shopping one can accomplish here: gifts for everyone, bridal shower, baby shower, birthdays, colleagues...the list goes on. I purchased a beautiful piece of indoor artwork and a handful of various trinkets. White Magnolia has an idyllic location in downtown Chagrin Falls, right on the corner. They're also connected to Past Meets Present, a lovely vintage shop with an interesting selection of clothes and accessories. Combined, you can spend a significant amount of time here! I did, however, have a hard time finding a staff member to assist me. Maybe I caught them in a training moment, but the 2-3 people in the shop were all focused on wrapping one gift for one customer. After a while of awkwardly standing there, I asked one of the gals if she could assist me before my meter ran out and felt weird about doing it (she didn't seem pleased). Hopefully the next time I visit it will be a bit easier to see the collections that are behind glass. read more

I have been into this shop many times over the past couple of years. The women behind the counter are consistently rude and not helpful. This past weekend was my last visit. I entered the store and was immediately followed by one of the store associates. I picked out a doll for my granddaughter and walked to the register where I stood for 10 minutes waiting to pay for the item. There were many associated straightening coasters and anything else possible, while watching me stand there. If the doll was not for my granddaughter, I would have left long before. Most of the items in the store can be purchased on Amazon or at Home Goods. White Magnolia is overpriced and frankly not worth the effort. There are many other shops in Chagrin Falls worth my time and money. read more

We live in Chagrin Falls and had extended family visiting over the Holidays. Despite our warnings to skip White Magnolia (in favor of Hedges), our visitors were curious to see inside. Immediately and right on cue; the woman at the counter was rude and offended the entire party of 8. This was precisely as we predicted. We turned around and walked out immediately. It doesn't matter who is at the counter; they are all rude, dat after day. A+ for being consistently off-putting and one star for always choosing to be rude. The offerings are not worth the aggravation and disappointment. The locals know this but the visitors don't. Run don't walk. read more

my family and I go into this store. very bougie. we find a rack of robes, and I try one on, leaving on the hanger... it is very comfortable! one of my relatives goes to take a picture of me in it... UNTIL! a lady behind the counter comes up and says "i really wish you wouldn't..." i say why not? she says "i see no reason why you would be trying on that robe", full of malice. she's upset. she looks at me with FURY. she starts to walk away. i tell her "that was unnecessarily rude," and she says "you are unnecessarily rude for trying on the robe!!! it's $300!!!" i say "it's very comfortable..." i take it off. we leave. i've never been judged so hard for my perceived economic status before. this was such an uncomfortable experience. we were clearly not welcome there. you probably won't be either read more

I go into White Magnolia weekly. Not every single time do I spend big bucks, for example, I went in there this week to get one of their very unique cards, but I just can't seem to get enough. This store has the most unique home decor that I just have to have. My husband knows when I say I'm going to the village of Chagrin Falls that I'll be making a stop into White Magnolia and he knows I won't come home empty handed. The staff is very helpful and very personable. I always end up getting into conversations there that make my trip twice as long but I wouldn't trade that for anything. It makes it an experience and you truly feel like you are one-of-a-kind customer rather than just a number on their list. They have delicious sweets for sale, adorable baby gifts, a small wedding section, the best candles you will find in town, and the unique home decor your house have been craving for. I can't say enough about White Magnolia and highly recommend making a stop in there when you are in Chagrin Falls - it's right across from the popcorn shop! read more

Disappointed. Again. The cupcakes here look so good! But they look a lot better than they taste. I specifically asked if the $4 cupcake was fresh and the woman told me they were baked yesterday. Not a chance. I got a carrot cupcake that was stale and hard. Also got a key lime cupcake. The frosting was good - light and creamy but the cake was STALE!! I thought it was a cute store. I didn't have the same experiences as the other reviewers. I'm a guy so it's not really up my alley, but my girl loved it there, enjoyed her baked treat and loved their merchandise. I bought here a stuffed lamb and it was not cheap but it's a really great little stuffed animal that she fell in love with. They have really cool baby stuff and we left with some cute socks for our niece. The employees were friendly and courteous. read more

I am sure that not one person from the White Magnolia will even see or care about this review, but I feel so strongly about it that I am not holding it back any longer, especially after a conversation with a neutral person who worked in this quaint little town and confirmed my thoughts. I loved going into this shop. It is not one of those places where you buy a ton of stuff, because they are pricey, but for a nice gift that you aren't going to see all over the place, this "WAS" the stop, and I am emphasizing WAS. I took a friend here to experience Chagrin Falls, and to show her around some of the shops for a relaxing day of shopping and fun. She is from California, and doesn't have that much experience here and living in the Youngstown, Warren area, shopping experiences are not that great. Well, we arrived, had a nice lunch and shopped and walked and in doing so stopped in to see the White Magnolia. Immediately I had an uncomfortable feeling as she more than I were followed through the store, to the point that her personal space was invaded. You see, my friend is a doctor, she just bought a new home, and I thought the White Magnolia would have some nice little items to add to her home to cozy it up. She being of African American decent did not occur to me as being an issue, until we entered the White Magnolia. I have never felt so uncomfortable as I did in this store on that day, and was confused as I had never had this experience prior to this visit. She bought a candle, and we left. While waiting at the traffic light, she said to me, "Gosh, I felt so uncomfortable in there, it was almost as if they thought I was going to steal something." At that point a light bulb went off in my head and I became really angry. I thought, "Surely I am imagining things, but upon talking to a new acquaintance and having her, without even hearing my story tell me how she had observed real prejudice when she worked in this little town, I was compelled to share my story, and she said "I am not surprised at all". So, I am writing this review about a store that has a lot of character, some really neat items, and one less patron. I was recently back there with family on our traditional Holiday trip to browse, and shop and enjoy this picturesque village and when passing "THE WHITE MAGNOLIA", did not stop in. I did go back once. On the very next day after that visit, I drove all the way back up there to tell the patrons how I felt, and was informed by one of their daughters that she would have someone call me. The excuse was that their customers like that one on one service. It was funny that I had walked through the entire store for about 30 minutes and no one had approached me. I didn't get the same "invade my space attention" that was given the previous day. Instead she handed me a small plastic container with Petit fours in it and said "Take these for your trouble", as if pastry would make up for ignorance. By the way, the Petit fours were horrible, dry tasteless little sugary blobs. I gave them to my daughter in law and son and I think they went into the trash. From the previous review, I don't find this surprising. read more

White Magnolia is my favorite store! I am in love with the shabby-chic country French decor. The boutique is always charmingly decorated for each holiday and season. Every Christmas I buy family and friends an ornament from there. The price range varies from moderate to expensive, its a boutique In Chagrin Falls is anyone really surprised? The store is worth it! They have one a kind decor that is made with quality and it won't go out of style. If you cannot afford White Magnolia's merchandise, then don't go shopping there. It is oblivious that it is not for you. That should not affect the rating or review. The employees have always been kind and engaging. So, I'm taken aback by the harsh and negative reviews. I live in Chagrin Falls and I am always stopping in White Magnolia to check out the new merchandise. I often come in with my four year old son and my eighteen month daughter and the employees are always kind and accommodating. They NEVER make me feel unwelcome or uncomfortable and I am in a little shop with a lot of nice breakable objects with young children. Since, I am a resident of Chagrin Falls and that I am in the store frequently my experience with the store is believable. I won't let the negative reviews effect my patronage to White Magnolia as well as my family and friends! I LOVE the store expansion and of course the cupcakes! Beautiful Cupcakes......placed on back seat of car, 45 minute ride home air conditioned, placed on kitchen table a little overone hour....opened box for grandkids and friends........most were melted and frosting had run off, gobs of chocolate, key lime, only two oreo survived out of eight. Frosting is pudding like.....Not a pleasant experiance.....will go to Costco for good less expensive cupcakes that last more than two hours. read more
