From the moment we stepped inside the shop we felt relaxed and at ease (especially after a negative experience elsewhere). The fact that we had an area to ourselves and a welcoming drink made us all feel at home and individual. Sally looked after us so well and we all felt her passion for her job. She took time to listen to what Sam's likes and dislikes where which wasn't easy as my daughter hates fuss and attention. She chatted away to all of us, listening to the wedding plans and how they had met, which was lovely. Sally picked out a dress which my daughter would not have originally thought of but when she put it on we all knew 'this was the one'. As a mum I felt Sally was like an old friend and we could be honest with her. Up until now I had not been emotional... but let's just say we owe you a box of tissues!! After trying a few others, just to be sure Sam tried THE dress on again, I am biased of course but she looked amazing in it. Sam initially did not want a veil but Sally tried it and it all came together. Perfection! I can't thank Sally and everyone there enough and I am so looking forward to seeing her in the dress again. When I turned up to my appointment with my Mum, Sister and Best friend I was a nervous wreck! From the moment I walked though the door I was greeted with friendly, helpful and attentive staff. I really wish I could remember the name of the wonderful lady who helped me. She was really understanding and got to grips with what I wanted quickly. She asked me what sort of wedding I was having and asked me a little about myself and what ideas I had before I arrived. We then went downstairs to look at certain designers she felt encompassed my requirements. We picked 4 presses together then she picked a 'wild card'. Once back upstairs I tried on all the dresses and found 'The One' in dress 2! It was funny as the dress I chose was the dress I thought I would like the least. The ladies commented that if they had a pound for every time they heard that! I don't want to give it all away but I wanted to explain that last bit because I thought it was just so stress free and completely took the anxiety of being faced with so many dresses away. The sales advisor clearly knew each individual dress so only pulled out dresses she knew I would like. It was just a really professional and fun experience. I just want to say thank you to Isabella Grace for making the experience so special and a day I wont forget, I just cant wait to put my dress on again!

I have had Curve Couture design and make a number of items for me over the years. The most ambitious being a full length leather coat inspired by the French movie 'Brotherhood of the Wolf'. For every project, Chrissie has provided excellent expert advise, enthusiasm and top quality garments. Alternative weddings dresses, fitted corsets and performance clothing are the main focus of the studio and the website displays a good range of the work produced. Generally, a deposit is taken and then paymetns may be made on completion of the work, or by installments. You wouldn't do all your shoppinng here (I wish I could), but I guarantee that anything you choose to get made from Curve Couture will be in your wardrobe for many years to come. And, the more unavailable a product is where I live in California, the more I covet it & set out to acquire it (why am I like this?!) I came across Cath Kidston while strolling around Brighton. Although many of their prints aren't exactly what I'd call my style, I did find one that was to my liking -- a pale pink background with crude sketches of British landmarks & icons. I picked up a makeup pouch & passport holder (along with a few other bits & bobs for my fRamily back home) & am happy to have a piece of the U.K. with me wherever I go! If you're a true girly girl or if you've got young kids at home, Cath Kidston will add adorable touches to your life. This is the image that comes to mind whenever I walk through the door of Cath Kidston and am surrounded by beautiful, carefully thrown together, homeware. Thankfully, one glance at the price-tags - £150 for a roll of luxury wallpaper, £200 for a digital Roberts radio, £135 for a rose bedspread that could have been my grandma's - usually jolt me to my senses and reminds me, I've never had a desire to be a domestic goddess or desperate housewife.
