RECOMMEND!! After reading the positive reviews here, extolling Joanne's knowledge and expertise, you might imagine I was a little apprehensive when *Andrea* took my call -- I needn't have worried! Andrea provided outstanding service!! I had a vague idea of size and colors needed for small table arrangements for my son's rehearsal dinner at a Bloomington restaurant, which I was planning from several states away. Andrea was incredible: knowledgeable, patient with my questions, helpful with suggestions, and responsive to my calls and messages. A few days before the event, she thoughtfully recommended three arrangements per banquet table would look better than two, so I deferred to her judgment and braced for the up charge.... VERY REASONABLE....to be honest, less than I expected and still within my budget. And she was right, it did look so much more beautiful! Worth every penny. She selected beautiful flowers that would last to do double-duty at the reception (in the bride's chosen color scheme, too!), and allowed us to purchase the vases very affordably so guests could take them home. Many thanks to Ms. Andrea for delivering flower arrangements that exceeded my expectations! And yes, she did deliver and set them up at the restaurant, and left boxes for our use to transport them afterward. I cannot praise White Orchid Florists highly enough!!! read more

Joanne is INCREDIBLY knowledgeable about her craft and field. I came to her requesting ALL out of season (spring) flowers for my October wedding--she carefully substituted all the flowers with in-season alternatives of very similar shape and spot on color matching. I was almost in tears when I saw how beautiful my flowers looked--it was more than I could have imagined! I was absolutely blown away. But then she recommended a florist in the town that my friend lived in and the recommendation was awesome! Worst experience of my life I just paid $32 for six sunflowers no customer service no selection she acted like I was a bother to her I explained that it was a special occasion and I have used this service before and loved it but I will never go back again. I came to Bloomington to help my mom with some of my little sisters wedding plans. Who knew how many details go into wedding plans?! Linens have to compliment flowers? I was really out of my element when I tagged along to The White Orchid but Joanne was incredible friendly and helpful. She and my sister AND my mom totally vibed. It's like they were all soul sisters. Joanne really knows her flowers and had several photos of previous floral arrangements that can all be modified for your event. Not that you have to choose a pre-made floral arrangement. Joanne can customize arrangements for your event and I can almost guarantee they will be gorgeous. With only 3 months to plan a wedding, she had wonderful prioritization and an enormous amount of flexibility as well; she even modified our centerpieces the day before the wedding! I tossed out different flower ideas to her and she was able to confirm for me what was in season and what would hold up well in the July heat. Her experience in the floral industry was very attractive to me when selecting a florist because I knew she would be dependable and create beautiful arrangements. She showed me photos of past events she did and was open to seeing pictures of flowers I found on Pinterest. Because she runs a smaller shop, you will always get to speak directly to Joanne whenever you have a question or concern. She will also work with any budget size, which not all vendors do. DELIVERY SERVICE SUCKS! My husband has had flowers delivered to me twice and both times the delivery driver calls me several times beforehand freaking out about traffic and parking. The whole point of having flowers delivered is that it is a surprise! I work at IU at the library and parking is difficult but I used to deliver flowers and I would put on my hazards on and a sign in the window that said "DELIVERY IN PROGRESS" then if I couldn't find the person I would call from the lobby which is much more professional. Instead I had to go wait outside in 20 degree weather waiting for the delivery driver to show up, kept trying to call the driver to see where they were and got no answer, then when she did show up she didn't even apologize. Thanks a lot for ruining what was supposed to be a pleasant, wonderful surprise into a frustrating and irritating experience. Get it together ladies. read more

My family said this was the nicest bouquet they had ever received: fragrant, long lasting and very colorful. The florist was very courteous and efficient and called me when one of the specific flowers she was going to use ended up not being available due to circumstances beyond her control.
