A cute park right in the middle of downtown Riverside. I'm not too familiar with this town but it could also be somewhat the business district or historical district from the Victorian houses that was nearby. Anywho, I seen the gate driving by on the way to an appointment. Had an hour to kill so off to the closest Starbucks for a cold drink and back to the park to lounge for a bit. The main entrance was what caught my attention. A cute archway that welcomes you to a very cute park. Almost like something you would see on a movie set. There's street parking out front which is paid with the metered. I ended finding some residential parking on the end of the park side as there was shaded parts. Front had full parking available but it was full sun. Anyways, I found out that there was no other entrance beside the main one in-front. Had to walk from the back but it was fine, a nice little walk along the side streets which barely any cars drove through. Once you walk through the gate which had a nice rose garden in-front, you're greeted with a water fountain that is very picturesque. It's somewhat the focal point when you walk in but behind it is the gazebo. It's a cute park that's not big but big enough. Plenty of benches along the path. On one side is a cute little Japanese style garden minus any ponds. Don't think your allowed to walk through as it's more of a garden feature. Plenty of nice big trees with shades for lounging with a blanket. Theres no play ground as it's more of a community garden but very well kept. A cute little oasis in the heart of town. Worth a nice little lounging under the trees. read more

Came here today for the Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) Event here in Riverside! The closed part of Market St and lots of vendors come out, music, food, arts & craft, face painting, etc. In the park you can rent a space so you can mount the altar for your loved ones and you can be as creative as you want. They also let vendors to set up shop inside the park. The park is about medium size, from what I could see, the park is kept clean and well maintained! read more

Came here for the taco fest hosted by kggi 99.1 on sat Oct 21 & it was great! Parking sucks round here but we knew that and got here early. Brought our chairs too and they were clutch! I was not about to stand all day. Start at 11am-6pm. My fiancé and us had a great time. Great show, good people having fun and tons Of taco vendors! Nice secure spot. Tons of Police and security and there weren't any issues that I saw. There was even a beer/wine garden Too! Great family Outing. Loved it! read more

I was riding my bike and pass by this park. I saw the outside of park is very beautiful, so I rode inside to the park. There are so many homeless people ha g out inside the park. Even though they don't bother you but feels creepy just go around the park. Sorry one star for this park. read more

This is the only place in the world where I have seen the infamous Bunya Bunya tree. Every 4-7 years they form pine cones that are as big as bowling balls and weigh some 10 pounds. They have to cordon off the area so that people do not get clunked on the head by one. read more

My first time here was for the Tamale Festival this year. The park served its purpose for the event. More than a dozen tamale vendors, a live band and dancing. Shout out to the tamale place from Escondido. OMG their pork tamales were the best I've tasted. I wish I could remember the name, I would drive there tonight for a dozen. Can't wait for next years festival! read more

I like this place. I married a couple and their wedding was very lovely. I am a wedding officiant and I travel to many locations. Www.weddingblissbylily.com Here is my review for this place The pros: it was fairly quite during the ceremony. You get guards for the gates to keep strangers out. Cons: you may here sirens. There is limited parking near by. You can use parking structure but the walk is far. If you park by the senior center and use their entrance to walk in to the park, when you go back to your car you will have to go all the way around the park in order to get to your car. All the doors in rear of senior center are closed. read more

It's a beautiful park - the gazebo, the fountain, small Japanese garden - the reason for the 1 star? Homeless people everywhere. As I'm walking into the park, they were staring at me. Once I sat on a bench, a few got closer to me, 2 of them asked me for money and food but I didn't have any. I was just trying to eat my sandwich in peace. Then a homeless lady started taking a shower by the water fountain with a small bucket she had. Thank god she didn't take off all her clothes. I didn't feel comfortable so I left before I even finished my sandwich. read more

The homeless in this area ruin everything. It's a shame they are allowed to ruin this beautiful park. Went here for graduation photos but couldn't get a photo without homeless in the park being in the background. Felt very unsafe, enter at your own risk. read more

Visited 7/13/13 - Beautiful park! Disturbing occupants. We chose White Park as the location for our daughter's 6 month photographs. Upon parking, our photographer pointed out a transient female who was urinating in a plastic cup she dug out of the trash can. She threw it back in the trash, resulting in urine spilling all over the pavement near the senior center. There were six different groups of homeless occupants set up around the park each with shopping carts and trash bags filled with clothes and miscellaneous items. Two groups were shouting threats and profanities at each other One man threatened a female "don't let me ever catch you in White Park again!" Each group then began eyeballing us and sizing up the photographer's equipment and our stroller. We immediately identified the area as unsafe and departed promptly. It is so sad because the park is so beautiful, but overrun by homeless / transients. read more
