On Monday night at around 11:30 pm I was transported by ambulance to the ER with severe shortness of breath and dizziness. I spent the next 12 hours in the ER while waiting for a room. They gave me a battery of tests, blood labs, chest Ex Ray , EKG. When they determined that my Hemoglobin was severely and critically low they were expecting to find some kind of internal bleeding. Their thoroughness found out that I had a urinary tract infection coupled with my diabetes, my anemia and some of my diabetic meds were adding to my severe anemia condition. They immediately put me on antibiotics and started to withhold some of my other meds because I needed to stabilize my blood. They gave me 1 blood transfusion that did not improve anything. After 2 more transfusions my blood improved tremendously. I would be remiss if I did not praise the staff. Mark the technician in the E R was great. The nurse and ER doctor were very attentive, methodical and reassuring. When I got to a room later in the day I was amazed at the nurses and techs and how they were a team and exemplified caring for patients. At this stage of my life I have been in hospital situations over the years and White Plains Hospital should get ten stars. Thank you Mark, Megan, Michelle, Rachel, Pam, Julianna and Dr Alon the attending physician. Thank you ER staff. It was determined that I had a UTI that sent my blood to go too low. 87 yo mother-in- law was left lying in her own waste for 10 hours while waiting for a bed. No food or water. NO IV. Not adequate pain control. Hospital experience great so far. But state should investigate the ED and consider closure. read more

I was diagnosed with a softball-sized tumor in my retroperitoneal cavity and referred to White Plains Hospital and Dr. Sasan Roayaie. My experience was very disappointing. They gave me limited options -- basically surgery with the loss of my kidney -- and performed a biopsy that produced no results. At a second hospital, the biopsy was done in a completely different spot, and I had preliminary results the next day with a clear timeline for answers. White Plains, on the other hand, left me waiting almost two weeks with no communication. For something as serious as a tumor, I recommend going straight to Memorial Sloan Kettering. Their accuracy, communication, and expertise far surpassed what I experienced at White Plains. Below is a picture of my back where you can clearly see the two biopsy spots. I would like to commend the ER doctors and nurses at White Plains Hospital. They were phenomenal. They were patient,kind, knowlegeable and compassionate!! I gave 3 stars because of them!! However, the transport tech and other lower echelon staff,in addition to "SECURITY," need professional development and etiquette training. To put it mildly, they are simply GHETTO and unprofessional. So I stumbled into White Plains Hospital yesterday afternoon with a swollen leg and could barely walk! It was clearly visable that I had an issue and these people were really incomptent! I was seen relatively quickly considering the way the ER looked. But I will NEVER go there again! I was sent for an ultrasound, then an xray. They find nothing with my heart which was good. After 3 hours in a communial area, where they are treating patients like myself. Installing IV's, drawing blood, asking personal questions on people, bringing a portable screen/shade to cover a man while they did something possibly in a private area, (what happened to the HIPA policy???) I did not get any blood drawn. I see everyone getting a pain shot, I asked the nurse after 3 hrs. Can I get pain medicine??? Thinking I would get a cup with 2 pills???? I get "oh you have pain?" Yea That is why I am here. So she messages the Dr, Andrew, who supposively never got back to her, so apparently by me asking her if he ever got back to her, "flagged me as someone who was starving for pain meds" ARE YOU KIDDING me?? They did give me a shot in my arm, which I was told it should go in my buttocks, but whatever. The bozo of a Dr., said he was calling in a script to my pharmacy, and didn't because according to them I was starving for pain meds! My PCP told me this this am. This was a complete shit show, and I lost 4 hrs of my life that I will not get back. I told the clown of a Doctor, and he agreed. I said just give me my discharge papers and Let me get out of here. He shakes my hand and says Linda hope to see you at the next Barbeque???? Where the hell did this come from?? read more

My wife rushed me to the White Plains Hospital ER at midnight, after I was complaining of severe pain in my abdomen. Turns out, I was having a gall bladder attack with stones and an infected gall bladder. From the minute I arrived to the ER, until I left the hospital after surgery, the staff at the hospital was way above awesome, and I can't say enough nice things about them all. I always felt very cared for during my 4 day stay at the hospital. Dr. Charney, Dr. Robbie and nurse Eli are just a few members of the staff that made my medical emergency so much better than it could have been. Thank You! read more

I along with some others care givers, came to WP Hospital for 1 month to help with our 61 yr old family member. He has severe pancreatitis and lost 35 lbs in @ 5 weeks. By the time he got there he was skin & bones, but rather then treating him immediately from his prior diagnosis they judged him completely, the pain managment Dr. said he was looking for meds and would not treat him so we had to watch him for almost 2 weeks suffering from severe pain and near death. No one would listen to us untill it was almost to late. We had to beg finally to this evil pain managment Dr to help him. It gets worse from there but ill spare more details. The saddest part is they let him home with no pain meds in hand, my 34 yr old daughter had to wait untill 10:15 pm at a CVS 3 towns over to get a prescription filled, and no visiting nurse ever came to teach us how to take care of the aftermath of the emergency surgery they had to perform that changed his life. The nurses and cleaning staff were good, some were great and much appreciated. I would Never step foot in there again nor would any of us. Its been 2 weeks and we are gutted by this experience, just so inhumane and we had the patient advocate involved the whole time, it did nothing. Beyond bizarre. We are moving him to another state and pray the Dr's there will see a good man who needs help and some kindness, as does his family. If this helps 1 family its worth it. read more

I was rushed to WHITE PLAINS HOSPITAL 122 Maple Ave. White Plains NY 10601 on 01/29/2026 due to 3 weeks of worsening right upper extremity weakness, and a severe headache from the head injury I suffered during defensive tactic training at the academy. When the Neurosurgeon - Alexandra N Kammen MD saw the alarming result of the head CT scan that she ordered showing large left sided subacute subdural hematoma with marked mass effect and midline shift. she immediately took me to the OR for left craniotomy for hematoma evacuation. Dr. Kammen is phenomenal, very assuring and knows her onions, the surgery went well, and my recovery very rapid, I was worried about my altered mental state and speech problem, but she assured me that it would be resolved and truly everything became perfectly restored on the on 01/13/2026 when the surgery staples were removed. All the staffs including Nurse Brittany who worked with me in the morning at the ICU made the pain less painful for me; The Caribbean American nurses that worked night shift with me at 4E floor were very helpful and encouraging, they emptied my urinal for me. May God bless you all. I will not forget to add that NP Maria Dedios is a great member of the team. She always makes sure all necessary notifications to my job or WCB and referrals are done promptly. read more

Dr Joshua raff my oncologist and hematology monitoring system for non Hodgkins lymphoma is the best in his field. Erica Green his assistant wonderful. $6,000 for nausea and a muscle spasm. They billed me as admitted but I wound up getting discharged from the ER but they won't change it. Mind you I spent half the visit in the hallway next to people in active withdrawal. My insurance is billing me as admitted now and mind you it took them over a year to send me the bill. Friday 2/11/2022: After my brief visit to Urgent Care NYCMed, we were discreetly recommended to go here for a more thorough exam and tests. We were ever so glad - every staff member was lovely and welcoming. The Resident MD and Nurse Practitioner both displayed superb bedside manner, articulate and clear concise explanation of diagnoses. One of the charming male nurses said that I look 25 years younger than my actual age. Thank you, Mr Nurse! It is remarkable to have a good medical center that runs like a well oiled machine, and serves what ails us professionallly and humanitarily. Well trained doctors and a good professional medical staff are a very good thing. Right, Martha? I admire White Plains Hospital's commitment to setting a stellar example. White Plains Hospital recently took very good care of my dad. The ER doctor was excellent and took the situation very seriously. Once my dad was admitted, the hospital doctor called me daily with an update. The nurses were very nice as well. My dad got better, so I would say they all did a great job. On top of that, the hospital is clean and updated. The parking is easy as far as hospital parking lots go, and it's not terribly expensive. In the lobby, there is a decent cafe with some good food options. The only reason I didn't give the hospital five stars is that, like all hospitals, the discharge day was very slow while we waited endlessly for certain things that should have been done earlier to get done. But I've unfortunately had a lot of hospital experience lately, so o know this is typical of hospitals. White Plains Hospital at least made the whole experience a lot more pleasant than it could have been. read more

While labor and delivery is fantastic, the postpartum recovery section has gone downhill in the last 2 years. They are so focused on being 'baby friendly' and having mom room with baby 24/7. I spent a day getting mom shamed and getting denied each time I asked for my baby to be sent to the nursery so I could get a quick nap in. read more

The bloat that is WP Hospital should have a neon sign-- No Complaints. I was feeling the worst I ever have. I thought my Abdomen was going to Burst. It was very late at night but I drove myself there. The ER Room was empty. I waited. I asked how long. Thats when they brought me to Stage 1. Vitals. My BP was crazy. I was told to get on this Gurney (sure!) and then I was moved inside to stay outside a room of a very ill gent. I started to freeze, had to keep asking for Blankets. I was told there are no rooms available. Stay in the Hallway. I was hurting so bad I pulled this PA over and while listening to me, he was asking questions for billing and put a Coding Bracelet on. Where is a Doctor? Very Short staffed. Only 1 for each side. Finally, a Dr came over pressed around said Xray, MRI, CT Scan. I ruled out the CT Scan. They took me up and then I was told Dr.said Ct scan w contrast!! Took em all. Diagnosis-I had a UTI! Brought me downstairs into a room and left me there. Gent came around to scan more charges. I asked him to get something for neusea. No. Ok. Grabbed my purse and took 2 Bomines. I laid back, the OTC worked. No one came. I hopped off the Gurney changed into my clothes, walked to the Bathroom unaccompanied and back, grabbed my Purse and walked right by the nursing station and the Dr. I was a bit dizzy and the Security Guard right by the Exit Door said, you look pale, are you ok? Yep. Fine thanks. He asked to accompany me to my car as he was concerned about me driving, asked for Discharge Papers! Dont have any but Patients Right to Leave. He agreed. It wasnt easy getting home but at 4am, I came in and draped myself on the Bed. They sent a Fabulous Bill of which I paid $100 (from $6K), Explained to Billing the whole truth. Then called my Doctor, who said pooey on their Diagnosis. It turned out after my blood work, I had an infection in my gut from certain food I ate. Antibiotics. I was fine. I will never use that Hospital for anything. I will be driven to Greenwich Hospital. Period. read more

a few weeks ago I had an accident where I fell in the bathtub. I had recently had foot surgery and was still recuperating. luckily I was not home alone and my daughter brought me straight to the emergency room. starting with the valet parking and one of the attendants bringing me a wheelchair to leBing and then bringing the car right to the front and everythjng in between I received amazing care. The intake process was efficient and the people were helpful and nice. Once I got into the emergency room, at first it was overwhelming. There were so Many people there and activity going at But everyone that worked there knew what to do and where I was at all times. I needed a number of X-rays and a cat scan. Someone who was a volunteer even offered me a warm blanket and pillow. The person I want to call out the most was the Doctor, who may have been a PA His fIrst name is Connor. Don't know the last. He was the best - kind, efficient, clearly knowledgable and a great communicator. I can not thank him and everyone at white plains hospital enough. Thank you for all you do. read more

Emergency Room Visit I went to the ER because I was having Chest Pains for several days, shortness of breath, nausea, swollen ankles and dizziness. I've been diagnosed with severe grief which leads to severe panic attacks. After being left standing unattended in a hallway and feeling faint, I realized there wasn't a call button or MEDICAL STAFF around to help me. I decided to leave and I asked for the paperwork I needed to sign myself out of WPH-ER. I left before receiving the paperwork and went to Greenwich ER. The doctor who I didn't see wrote misleading notes in my perm med records about my conduct, also instructing the medical staff not to contact me to see if I was ok. Surprisingly, no suspiciously left out was when security was contacted to help with an aggressive patient, because I was not aggressive and handle myself with dignity and the reason I decided to leave and seek dignified care. IT SHOULD BE NOTED: I was able to walkout the ER unnoticed, without medical intervention to try to keep me there to seek medical treatment and false info was put in my chart to cover White Plains Hospital neglect. Thank God for New York State and my ability to file an official complaint against the hospital and the license medical professional who enter misleading information in my permanent medical records. This ER was like a dirty war zone, patients were on stretchers and sitting in chairs waiting for care with no professional in sight. While at Greenwich Hospital ER, the blood test (which I hadn't received at White Plains) showed an elevated D-Dimer count which can indicate blood clots and the reason for my dizziness and shortness of breath. I could have passed out while waiting for care and left to die. I live a 5-10 minute walk from this ER. I will drive to Connecticut before going back to this ER. I wish I could understand White Plains Hospital national ratings. The lack of concern and care for the patients seeking treatment is evident. I will contact every state or federal agency to investigate the treatment of patients in this Emergency Room, and the character information falsely added to my medical profile because they messed up. I will have it LEGALLY removed. read more

It pains me to provide any facility with a poor review, but what pains me more is expensive substandard care. I went to WP ED in June of this year 2024. I had fatigue and bilateral leg pain with pitting edema. A tough year with a sudden onset of pneumonia, flu, covid etc. I left Monte ED a few days prior as they were admitting me to a hallway and gave no care, just thousands in testing. I was put in a nice wheelchair & brought right in. An RN doing my vitals said I didn't belong there & should see my PCP. I told her a doctor needs make that decision. I was given an EKG sitting up in a chair ? Received two Tylenol & lab work. The Head Nurse did come upon request & she was professional caring, took complaint. I believe it was Ms Brown. I felt relieved also acknowledged as a patient. Then a PA came extremely rough to bandage my legs tight. She was visibly angry. I asked she said not mad ? No explanation given on why this was done. Then brought to a back area alone. A Nurse did check on me. There appox 3 hrs in total. In walks an arrogant MD. He first advised I exceeded the two hour ED turn around time, then said I was preventing him from caring for cardiac arrest patients can you imagine. I was horrified & went on home in a cab crying still very ill. Sadly I'd gone back a few days later to WSH Monte ED. Awesome doctor immediately she had Lasix pushed & IV started very concerned admitted me to a bed this time thank God. I understand everything happening in ED settings & stess levels. However a minimal standard of care is expected. I'm praying someone reads these more recent poor reviews and makes needed adjustments. I will never go back there, advise this to everyone too. I recently had been experiencing chest pains and saw Dr. Roger Cappucci(fantastic doctor!) who scheduled a stress test. Next step was the Cardiac Cath Lab for an angiogram where they performed their magic! What a great experience with Dr. Judah Rauch and his team of professionals! My nurse, Bill was great! I asked to have a MRI done I was having excruciating back pain and he refused to let me have one done. He prescribed meds without finding out what's my issue. I was sent there from urgent care. He refused to fill out my required sick note from NYC transit. And told me i should go see my primary care provide in a condescending tone. I'm downgrading my original review of 3 star to 2 star. I don't enjoy posting bad reviews. White Plains Hospital is far more than just how competently physicians perform. It's also about physician-patient interactions. To maintain high standards, it's also about how proactive the hospital is in dealing with complaints and concerns. Customer Relations did respond to my review and extended an offer to call them. I have spoken with them a few times and they are more focused on the hospital's image than on problem solving. You conclude you should go up the chain of command. That is very time consuming. You might get a minor fix but the underlying problem doesn't go away. Worse, now your relationship with the hospital is somewhat strained. All you did is try to right a wrong. For perspective, try filing a complaint against a physician with the NYS Office of Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC). Unless it is serious enough to get the interest of an attorney to represent you, it is generally a complete waste of time as the complaint process lacks transparency and gets buried. In both of these instances, you are being asked to rely on the "good faith" of the system. Because hospitals and their physicians know this, very little gets done. The reason is simple. Physicians are responsible for producing revenue so that the facility remains profitable and can sustain itself. So, while a patient complaint might be serious to the patient, in the broad scheme of things, it might be viewed as trivial and get handled as such. It is viewed as "you can't please everyone". Frankly, that is inexcusable. The only way to chip away at this is to talk about it publicly as I'm doing. read more

WARNING : Be very careful going to this hospital especially if you are seen by Nurse Practitioner, Michelle D Schmitt. This lady was not only rude but LIED on the report to fit HER narrative and held me against my will for over 4 hours. I simply went in to get my Eyes/Ears checked from pain I was feeling and she thought I should be admitted and held against my wishes. How can this happen to person looking for a doctor's help??? I saw/heard a lot of stuff in those hours I was held hostage. I feel bad for those that actually cannot think for themselves. How is she getting away with writing what she chooses for a patient??? I'm still waiting on a call from their Patient Advocacy. This was traumatic experience and I do not wish it on anyone. I obviously made a mistake by going to this hospital and worst by checking in to the ER department versus waiting to find a specialist on EAR, Nose & Throat the next day. These people ( everyone except Nurse Beth) have no bedside manners and you will be treated LESS THAN! I am a black female and NP is white. I will get a lawyer's point of view on this matter because I am honestly traumatized after this horrifying experience. You are supposed to trust Doctors and hope that they have the best intentions for your safety and betterment. read more

The staff was wonderful except for the receptionist who checks ids I found her snotty and with a point to prove ; the only point she proved was she was a miserable human being at that moment. The rest of the staff was accommodating eager to give directions. Parking garage for 3 fir and hour and specific visitor hours. The gift shop is closed on weekends. read more

I am a care giver for a patient who was admitted due to a stroke he had. The stay was ok. Some nurses were great. The discharge process was horrible. He was discharged without certain medications he needed. I called that WPH care line which is useless because the unit secretary just passed the buck. The case manager never contacted me until a week later after I put in 2 calls. I reported to the nursing supervisor which she did help. It was a horrible experience. Every time you call it's a different person who is not helpful at all. I'm very disappointed. Still til this day no help. read more
