I walked in looking for a bottle of local wine (new in town) and found MUCH more. There are fresh cheeses that the owner graciously offers samples before buying. The wine selection was missing local wines, but once I engaged Vanessa's wine knowledge, I found we were sympatico on drinking unadulterated (no wierd additives) beverages whether wine or tequila. As I said, the space is small, but the owner has been able to acquire a great selection, if limited, of liquors, wines, beers (beer available by singles). Another bonus was a freezer full of choice cuts of grass-fed, local, angus beef. This is truly a gem in this little town. I haven't shopped the local grocery store, but what I can see online is there is no comparison to the quality of the products in this shop. When dinner or drinks call for 'special occasion'...THIS is the place to shop!

"Straight On" - Heart…read more I made my way to this store right away (straight on) as it was only a block and a half from the Glenwood La Quinta, and directly across the historic Hotel Colorado. I bet this store stays mainly afloat from all the people from all the hotel traffic that comes across their door, and it's a good thing, because the people here were very friendly. The prices were not exactly bargains, but for the convenience and the walk-a-bility factor in Glenwood: Hotel Glenwood Springs, Hotel Colorado, La Quinta Inn and others, this store is right off the main strip. I managed to find a 6-pack of my favorite beer, a Tropical IPA called "Idol Time" that I had in a local pizza joint. The beer is made in Oregon and has flavors of coconut and pineapple without all the sweet - it was the BEST IPA. I bought a 6-pack and managed to pack it away in my checked luggage without the thing blowing up, which was a big plus, since this beer is non-existent in Hawaii, how ironic, given the fact that it says "Tropical" and has the word "pineapple" and a tiki head on it. It's located right in town just a couple blocks from White House Tavern. The moment we arrived we were greeted by a staff member who offered to help us. I ended up picking out two bottles of Burgundy that the staff recommended. Prices seemed slightly higher than what I am used to back in LA, but that is probably to be expected considering these wines made it all the way to Aspen. I was impressed with the selection and would definitely come back if I need wine in Aspen!

The small store has a great look & a nice feel & seems fully stocked with all you might need. As an IPA only drinker, the small beer case did have a few 6-packs of a handful of IPA brands, which was nice... didn't expect that in such a small town, as in personal experience, most I know aren't IPA drinkers... we're more an oddball, niche enclave of the beer drinking community at large. Also, prices were very reasonable... $10 for a 6-pk... I pay $13-15 for IPAs in most states I've lived/visited. There are another 1/2-dozen liquor stores in the area, which I didn't visit... I was only in town for 4-days, so just needed 1. They might be great, as well, but this place is definitely worth a look. Note: There are a few other shops nearby on Main St., as well. Misty's Coffee is a few doors down. Haven't tried them, yet, but will before I leave. I'm always game for a good, strong cup o' boot glue. 5* out of 5.
