The phone and email customer service is excellent but the actual work is very disappointing. Once I had to ask them to return as they completely missed the back of the house, another time they missed one eave - the final and last time they broke the winter shelter surrounding my backyard .They are inexpensive and you get what you pay for. read more

Very poor experience -- avoid White Shark at all cost yelpers. They provided a quote to remove stickers from our new windows (we specifically requested that service in writing, which they acknowledge is what exactly we asked for). Half way through the job, they knocked on door and told us it will be more than double the quote to remove the stickers. We said we weren't interested at that price and they left (our windows are still very dirty). However they never refunded our payment. I called, they said it was a miscommunication and promised to come back with correct cleaner to remove sticker residue -- but then just never contacted us again. I had to reach out a 4th, 5th and 6th time (they don't return messages, or answer during business hours). Jack then blamed us for the miscommunication (... it's in writing Jack), and again asked for more money while also refusing to refund what they already took without completing job. I spent more time on hold/calls with them than it would take to do myself. Really, avoid this unprofessional outfit. Promised specific things on 3 occasions and didn't complete. Was left with dirty windows, working with credit card company for refund, and calling another company. read more

These guys are bad news! I live in a semi-detached home in downtown Toronto and my neighbour decided to hire White Shark to clean her eavestroughs and thought she was doing me a favour by having my side done as well. However when these two rather obnoxious guys arrived and went up on the roof I noticed they were making a great deal of noise that sounded like hammering and that's something I don't expect to hear if they're just cleaning the eavestroughs, So I went out to see what all the noise was and the guys were on the roof with ropes and fall protection harnesses. "That's good right?" Except these guys had some sort of relocatable anchoring system that they would hammer into the SURFACE of the roof tiles! (Not underneath a flipped up tile) then heave it out via the attached rope every time they would move to access a different part of the roof??? Now my 20 year roof tiles were 16 years old and would have required replacement within the next few years anyway.. But that's not really the point! The point is that both my roof and my neighbours roof began leaking in less than 2 months after these guys cleaned our eavestroughs. I happened to be away when the leaks made their way through my ceiling in 8 locations!! Once in the attic you could see the various leak points every one of them was the same distance away from the edge of the roof spaced pretty evenly. Please be cautious hiring these guys because they like to emphasize how much safety training their employees receive, Speaking as a residential and residential high rise Construction manager and Site superintendent these particular employees used the required safety equipment... But they didn't use it properly! Because if they could heave the anchor out with the rope every time they moved to clean a different section of eavestroughs? It would have certainly not have held up very well if had they fallen!! Improperly used safety equipment is usually more dangerous than not using it at all!!! read more

We have a small semi-detached in Toronto, and called White Shark for a quote for window cleaning of all windows on the house. They came by and dropped the quote in our mailbox, since we weren't home at the time. My husband thought that $65 was reasonable, so hired them. When the appointed day came, we weren't home for the cleaning, but came home to find that only the front living room and second-storey bedroom window had been cleaned. However, the large kitchen and bedroom window on the back, and the side bathroom and dining room windows, were not cleaned. When my husband called to ask why not, they said that our backyard awning made it difficult to access those back windows, so they just didn't do them. No reason given for why the side windows weren't done either. When asked why they didn't mention this on their quote, their simple reply was, "Don't know. The price is for whatever windows we cleaned." So they had time to come by, look at the house and the windows requested, drop the quote in the mailbox, but never mentioned that 4 of the 6 windows wouldn't be cleaned. $65 for one large and one small window? Never again, and would never recommend to anyone. read more

My family's house has beautiful ivy covering most of the brick on the front that took years to grow. White Shark has been calling my mum bugging her to clean her windows for a year or two, finally she gave in. They cleaned the windows by ripping the vines off the house, leaving an uneven mess of dead dangling vines and exposed brick, like a really bad haircut. Even though I was home and had introduced myself to them, they did not bother to ask to see if this was an okay thing to do. In the process of the 'cleaning', they trampled the front garden, destroying a number of plants. Then they had the audacity to write on the invoice "cleaned your vines away, free of charge!" They even put one of their signs on our front lawn without asking. Every day for a week we called them explaining what had happened, and they said "oh we'll get back to you" or "someone will be out today" My mother finally had to speak to the president to get anything done. They are going to replant the garden, but the vines will take years to grow back. Even then they wanted us to pay to have their mistake fixed! Very disappointing. read more

We have had White Shark clean our windows several times over the years and they have always done a satisfactory job. However we have never written a review up to now. About a year ago the house next door was demolished and new house construction begun...with all the expected dust and grime. When it was finally complete we called White Shark to paint the outside trim on our three story house. This was done about a month ago. The workers were pleasant and efficient and we are very pleased with the result. Today they came to do the windows inside and out. The outside was especially filthy due to the construction. The two pleasant young men arrived right on time and got right to work. The result was excellent. We are very pleased.. read more

White Shark came to clean the exterior windows of our house. After they were finished, we immediately went outside to have a look and noticed that our lawn chair, which was resting against our sunroom, was broken - hinges on both arms were completely disengaged. I had sat on the very same chair that morning and it was in perfect condition. We called the company and spoke to Nicole to seek reimbursement for our $40 chair and were told the team didn't touch the chair (even though the chair was leaning against the sunroom windows which they cleaned) and they would not reimburse us for it. This place is a scam! Buyer beware. They have sent me three invoices for work that's paid...my credit card statement proves it! Each invoice increases "the amount owing" by about 10 dollars. They have even sent my name to a credit agency and won't answer the phone when I call or return my messages. This company is outrageous in how it treats people. Really unfortunate as I thought I would rely on them for more than 2 years to take care of my windows and gutters. read more

The day the White Shark window washers came to my house I told them I would leave my house alarm off so they wouldn't put it on accidentally as they cleaned the outside of my windows. I returned home after work to find that someone had tried to break into the house: the door handles on the French windows leading from kitchen to garden had been violently yanked off. Thank goodness the door was strong and they weren't able to get in. I called the police, they inspected, and suggested it likely was one of the window cleaners. They were the only ones who knew my alarm was off. read more

I've used White Shark in the past, with satisfactory results, but not this time. I reminded them at the start to do the windows as well as the eaves troughs. They had to be reminded to do the 2nd and 3rd floor windows, and by then, they'd removed the ladders and had to put them up again, taking much more time and effort than necessary. After they left, I got a phone message from their office saying there would be an increase in the bill because of foliage in the way of the ladders and the extra time it took the men to do the work. Then I checked the passage between my house and the neighbour's, found it was full of debris, and phoned to complain and demand that they come back to sweep it properly, which they did. I also explained that the time problem was their own fault, since they didn't do the windows while the ladders were in place, Instead of $400, the office person said she would charge only $300, even that being a lot more than the standard $225. Not using White Shark ever again! read more

I called White Shark to find out why my flat roof was backing up. They came and said they fixed it. They were here for a very short period of time, I was told 10min by my house keeper. However, based on their GPS they said 25. Regardless, they did not do a very good job. The very next rain storm we had, my flat roof was FULL of water. They claimed that I waited to long to report it and said they could not guarantee their work. The worst part is that they were extremely rude, unapologetic and argumentative. They reduced my bill from $95 to $75 plus tax. So at the end of the day I paid over $80 for nothing. Save your time and money and find a professional service to help you with your eves. This company is nothing but a headache. read more
