Idk what the craze is about this place, but IYKYK. We are finally getting one out here in Arizona, and it will open in Goodyear on June 22. Be that as it may, I won't be going until probably fall, lol. I'll most likely be making another trip to TX before then anyway. This location is large and fully stocked. The same classic Buc-cee's you know is full of everything from housewares to clothing, car accessories to freshly made brisket sandwiches ans everything in-between! Service was great, and the cashier was friendly. I didn't get a sandwich this time around, but I did grab a few bags of beef jerky. They're my new favorite snackie! And they are the only place I know that correctly calls "sausage kolaches" as their real name--Klobásník--or Klobásníky (plural.) but don't expect those to still be there. On a weekday, they might still have these Czech treats until 3 pm, but on the weekends, they go fast! Always friendly staff and i just love looking through their home decor. They have the cutest little tchotchkes that are locally crafted and so wonderful for home, garden, or lawn. I have bought many a christmas and birthday gift on the way. Great metal art as well! First off if you stop early they do have a hot fast food section of food like breakfast burritos and meats. I've been in there at 8:30 am and still wasn't impressed enough to purchase any of the breakfast food. It dries out real quick (no covers) and I don't like crusty looking food. By afternoon their food looks even more petrified. I think if you purchase something from that section it's best to get something as soon as the lady brings in a fresh pan of it. I'd rather go to the Sonic across the street for fresh fast food. Actually I've found most items higher priced over their competition south of them on hwy 105 on the east and west sides of the freeway. I got ticked off when I bought hostess marshmallow sno balls and they charged me $2.37 plus tax and I found them at Walmart for $1.00 no tax an hour later. I walked in planning to spend maybe 20 minutes max just to buy a few souvenirs, snacks, and a few things to take home to my kids and family. Shortly after I walked in, I was approached and told I wasn't allowed to be there because I came in a semi truck. I explained that I was only going to be inside for a few minutes to buy a few items, but I was told they would not allow me to purchase anything. I was also told, "Unfortunately truckers are not welcome." Those were his exact words. That was extremely disappointing to hear. Truck drivers are a huge part of what keeps this country moving. We deliver the products businesses sell every single day, including the products sitting on Buc-ee's shelves. To be told we're not welcome and not even allowed to make a purchase is sad and frustrating. Because of this experience, I will never return to Buc-ee's again, not even in my personal vehicle. I'd much rather spend my money at a truck stop or any business that welcomes everyone and appreciates the people who help keep America moving.
