Today my boyfriend and I decided to go for a walk and since the last time we passed by there were several Pokéstops and lures going on we thought we could make this a nice fun Friday evening adventure as we have been talking about coming here for some time now but just never made it. The turn into the bigger lot is pretty sharp on the right as you're headed north on Bridge St. There are also a few spots right up front but it's usually occupied, and so was today. We went all the way in and had to come back out because there was no place to park, except a couple of handicap spots. There is also a Yacht club on the far right of the park. The park isn't very big but it's very nicely done. The drought however, along with people walking on the grass, has really damaged the greens turning them tan and dried out. We parked in the side and sat and watched the sunset as I played PokémonGo until a spot opened up. We grabbed it and headed to the park for the walk and the play. It was really beautiful seeing so many people out. We walked alongside the bank of the water and it was low tide so saw the bottoms of the land. The houses across the way was nice too. There were a couple of trails you can walk over to just off the "Kibby's Property" sign but since ITT was getting dark we decided not to go in. And at nighfall, a truck came about starting rounding up the people and lead them out of the park because although it's open year round, it closes at dusk and it was beyond dusk at that point. Best park about this small park is that it had at least about 13 Pokéstops and the lures were going on all of them. Had a great time here and will definitely come back again soon!

Beautiful, well maintained trails that are easy to get to from Boston. Climbing to the top of the…read moreskyline trail requires a bit of scrambling up rocks. However, they do have a nice set of trails by the reservoir/ ski area of the park that has little elevation and some of the best foliage in the fall. Parking can be a bit tricky on that side when it is busy though. I don't like the trails over by the pond and skating rink as much as I do the other side. It can get a bit muddy and buggy over there and the pond views are meh. Parking is shared by the ice rink and there is plenty of it.

Could Dune Shacks Trail be the 8th wonder of the world? I don't know man...but I feel like it is…read more When hubs located these dunes as part of our nature escape in Ptown, I was like...."ok" and shrugged my shoulders. But once we started ascending on a narrow sand path leading to the tallest peak, all we saw was a stretch of pure gold and imagined some desperate soul running frantically looking for water. Even with the frigid late December visit here, make sure you bundle. Hiking on sand was difficult especially since we wore denims- but definitely wear leggings or joggers to get the most mobility as you hike up. We didn't prep ourselves mentally- so once we got to that tallest peak, we came back down and never saw past the end of the dune and into the ocean. Dune Shacks could well be that place that combines the dune+beach beautifully together. What a dramatic and lovely place to visit. If you're into the breeze rustling your hair and really sinking your boots in the sand, this spot's for you.

I came across this trail while planning our trip to Cape Cod. I liked it because it had some sand…read moredunes (cool) and I thought it would be cool to see the dune shacks. Unfortunately, I had no idea how high the dunes were! If you've never climbed a sand dune before, let me tell you - it's not easy! It's exhausting as for every step, your foot sinks down at least half way back from where it started. The sand starts fairly soon after the trail begins and you're soon trekking uphill in sand. We made it up to the top of the first dune and 2 of the 3 of us were beat. I took great lengths to stay as high in elevation as possible in making my way to the second dune, where I saw the ocean and maybe two dune shacks in the distance - at least half a mile or a mile away. I couldnt imagine walking that far in the sand. Overall, the trail was nice and it gave some nice views, but be prepared and know going in that its not going to be easy.

The presentation was nice, but something that should not cost that much. There is no warning not to bring strollers, or wagons for children. If you are not capable of pushing up a long long bumpy trail to get back to your car I don't recommend going. Again nice presentation, great farm, but I would not go again.

While we didn't go to Weir River Farm today, let me tell you it's worth a visit as it's a 10 acre…read moreworking farm with plenty of well-cared for animals and lots of places to walk around, things to do and learn especially if you care to do some volunteering. A group of friends and I spent a day here not long ago clearing brush. We did a good deed, had fun and got loads of exercise. The barn here is quite impressive too. The walk we took this weekend was at the adjacent Turkey Hill very early morning on this beautiful sunny Easter before heading out to be with other family. There are easily walkable trails and nice views. It was just a pleasure to be here noticing the newly greening bushes and trees and enjoying some quiet time outdoors. Hub, our dog and I all had a really energizing, pleasant morning. It was the church of the outdoors we decided to attend for our services today. I love feeling such joy at being outdoors on a great spring day. Both of these place are local properties owned by the Trustees of the Reservations. We're lucky that there are many of these properties in these parts. I can't urge you enough to become an annual Trustees member and support the great things they do like perserving these open and special places and spaces. There are Trustees owned properties throughout the entire Commonwealth so you'll have plenty of places to explore, mostly for free with your card.

This trail is fantastic. While the terrain is a little challenging because of sand, it is mostly…read moreflat. The variety of sand, dunes, water and panoramic views are beautiful. Lots of little crabs along the way, and birds flying overhead. The parking lot is very convenient. We arrived at 10 am and only 3 cars were in the lot. Y the time we got back at 2 pm the lot was full so plan accordingly. Bring water and snacks and a camera!

We took the Chasm trail but the trail off it to the chasm itself was closed for repairs. Hit the Summit trail and didn't see an overlook at the top, just an ugly concrete water tower. My now my knee was bothering me as I am not a spring chicken, so we went back down to the parking lot. Looked at the map and saw it was quite a ways beyond the water tower to the lookout. I probably could have made it to the outlook and back if I hadn't gone off on the chasm trail. Maybe this is a better site for younger folks, though they did have reading glasses at the kiosk for older folks like me, which I've never seen anywhere before and which, along with clearly marked trails, got them a second star.

The 3.3 mile trail was pretty easy and took me an hour to complete. When I came at 3:30 on a Thursday there were only 2 cars in the parking lot. When I left at 4:30 there were 7 cars at the trailhead. Nice place. I was staying at the minuteman campground and it was only a 5 minute drive from there.

There is a good sized dirt parking area here with security lights. A trail map is located at the…read moretrail head and the paths are very clearly blazed. You can see they have been through and cleared winter debris from the trail. The terrain is rocky with plenty of roots and has a slight incline. Nothing too strenuous. An excellent location to get into the woods for a quick day hike.

It wasn't very green yet but we cannot wait to come back in a month. There were some deer tracks, two garter snakes, a frog, and lots pretty birds. Oh and a crab! Our pup did great too.
