I think I talked to the actual attorney once?... and I've been working with the paralegal ever since. Don't get me wrong, the paralegal is friendly, but I can tell she's super busy. I need to call/email a few times just to get a response back from them, and for a good chunk of this accident, I needed to make calls myself to the other parties insurance, car rental shop, and body shop. I thought I got an attorney to help with the headache of an accident... but somehow I'm still dealing with a huge mess. I understand that sometimes things don't work as smoothly, but at least keeping the customer in the loop would be helpful so I don't have to sit here wondering what in the world is going on with my case.

She was very professional, very detail oriented and would thoroughly investigate things. My case took a while to resolve due to the nature of the injuries but that can be typical for any personal injury case. Sarah worked with me through it all and with all the years she's been with the company, it is a testimony that they not only treat clients with the utmost respect but that they have exceptional personnel that remain with the company. The case also involved their coordination with JAG for an Affirmative claim against the at-fault driver. I don't know Todd on a personal level and I am embarrassed to say I don't even know what Todd looks like. All our interactions have been via email or over the phone and I typically prefer face-to-face meetings but Todd was extremely easy to work with and very responsive that I did not even need to meet the guy! For those who need additional details, I reached out to Todd via email for an initial consultation to see if he could provide his services to help me with my home purchase in Baltimore City. Being a first-time homebuyer, there are many things you don't know and you can easily be taken advantage of if you are not cautious and you don't have someone supporting you. The real estate law in Maryland can be tough and the contracts can be over 50+ pages! So I contacted Todd and asked him a few things and he responded within a few hours the same day/night (in the wee hours of the morning mind you) even though he was just coming back from vacation. Todd responded that he could and would and asked me to forward him the contract, without a single request for payment. I being a reasonable person understand that lawyers are a dime a dozen and they are not free so I asked for his cost and he told me his rates and how many hours he typically bills. We went back and forth a few times over email and he answered all my questions and was completely honest and fair. He then asked me to send over my contract before I signed it and he would review it for me. He reviewed the contract within a day and not only did he do all of that and more, he did not even charge me a single penny! He told me everything in the contract was standard and his services were not required in my situation and gave me a few pointers to move forward. I kept Todd in my contacts and I consulted him once or twice more along the way. He gave me excellent recommendations for inspectors and insurance agents and I used them and they were fabulous and just as easy and professional to work with. A couple of weeks before closing, Todd even reached back out to me and asked if I needed anything further for my purchase. We spoke over the phone this one time, and he was extremely helpful and listened to everything I asked and gave me suggestions. At this point I was completely shocked and thanked Todd tremendously. Lawyers are not cheap by any means and many won't even respond without establishing an attorney-client relationship first. Todd took it upon himself to help me and close all the loops without expecting anything in return. In addition, I learned from Facebook that Todd is also a great community guy and willing to help the people in the neighborhood. Todd works with realtors and insurance agents to provide workshops and information sessions for interested buyers, which is extremely great for new and inexperienced buyers. Brown and Barron couldn't even establish a correct timeline of events. They asked us (at the end) if we would help them with an out of court lawsuit settlement so they could recover $14,000 in their expenses. They were more concerned with that than our case. I wouldn't wish our experience on anyone! Update: As a previous Accountant, I know what was said to me regarding recovering defense expenses, so there's absolutely no confusion there. We can agree to disagree; however, ultimately we believe there were far too many delays and issues with representation. Although promised to be updated monthly, we had to constantly email about updates when not informed. In additon, your reply states it's a nursing home negligence case. There were 2 physical rehabs (not nursing homes), as well as a hospital negligence case -- hence this is why we are deeply disappointed with representation.
