My friend/boss has been telling me about Aqua aerobics, lap swimming that she has been doing with a group. With that, she asked me to join her, joining means signing up for the 45-minute to an 1 hour drive to get here. I walked inside, and I was quickly greeted by YMCA staff. I asked for a tour. Leslie was so polite and answered every single question I had. As we began to do a walk thru of the YMCA. I quickly saw a gym set up a workout area. Machines galore with a lot of privacy and unisex. There are locker rooms that have been remodeled. Everything inside the locker room has every amenities you need to make your visit successful. The ladies all chit chat everyone is welcoming. Modesty goes out the window when coming to the Y. Plenty showers available, benches and chairs in the locker room. From the ladies' locker room is an exit door that leads to the pool. There are some major lap swimmers here. Most of them don't care too much about sharing a lane. There is the shared swimming area, which works out great. What you need to know Areas may close for cleaning multiple times throughout the day. You can book up to 5 visits. Each visit has a minimum and maximum length of time. You can check in up to 30 minutes before your scheduled time. A member forfeits their spot if they are not checked in within the first 25 minutes of their time slot Reservations Required AM Lap Pool AM Main Open Ex PM Family Swim/Open Ex PM Lap Swim Saturday Lap Pool-Shared First Come, First Served Adventure Center Child Watch The YMCA sign up was easy , I downloaded the app, and we used the app to schedule myself a lane for lap swimming. Keep in mind we all have different needs for the YMCA, whether it be for ourselves, seniors to keep thier mobility, movement, child care. The park has a dirt track that's wide enough so that people can shuffle or sprint here without interfering with one another. The trees and plants are also gorgeous, and there are signs everywhere explaining why these particularly (local) species were selected and how the local watershed works. There are large concrete benches/stairs on the southern end of the track, so there's plenty of space to sit and watch even if you're not joining your exercising friends. I haven't swam here yet, but I used the EV charging. According to PlugShare, it was free for a…read morewhile, but it did not get updated. It's around 30-45 cents per kwh. There are 2 handicap spots (for EV only). Then, 2 regular spots next to it, and 2 more spots across the other side. I usually use the ones further from the entrance, but noticed people parking weirdly. Either some people without EVs are parking in that spot and/or EV drivers are parking on the opposite spot and still using the charger. No problems with charging, but it is slow, so it'll give maybe 5.5 instead of 6.7, but it is one of the cheapest options. I've only ever see one or two other people use the EV chargers, so it's a good substitute if you have a lot of time! However, they are building an Electrify America by the Food4Less near where the EVgo station is. You do have to download the PowerFlex app, then scan the QR code or copy and paste it from the location. I like that it allows you to pick a duration and amount of kwh desired, so it'll stop once it reaches your goal. In any case, the employee at the front desk was kind. The facilities appear to be clean, and they have free swimming hours on Saturday afternoons, I believe. Best to call and ask because I don't think the hours on their website are accurate, and the way they posted them is a little confusing to read. There is always a spot to park, and it's right next to the school, so you can enter through there or via a residential street.
