As far as reputations go, Liz Hurley [has over 3 decades in broadcast journalism] is a local champion for breast cancer awareness and fundraisers. Liz personally helped a long-time friend of mine through her cancer diagnosis. She created the Liz Hurley Ribbon Run, an annual event which raises funds to provide diagnostic equipment for the Huntsville and Madison Hospital Breast Centers, as well as funding for a patient assistance fund and the Surviving & Thriving Program for breast cancer survivors. Brad [has been with WAFF for 27 years] is a respected local meteorologist. Do consider the WAFF weather app, actually the news app, too. I enjoy both!

She took the oxygen out of the room when she was on with Chris in the morning and then she was belligerent, they had to have either Chris or Demetria on, but not together. I don't like conflict like that. It's unprofessional. Moving her to the night slot, ensured I am watching WAFF for nightly news. I appreciate the teamwork and professionalism among the coworkers, not making your belligerence obvious on TV. I love this station during inclement weather like tornadoes. This station is very thorough.

When she was on, she did not let Chris talk and then it became a war in that you see one or the other - either Chris or Demetria. Obviously, Demetria is not a team player. Now, she's on the nighttime anchor position and I watch WAFF instead. She is rude, all about herself, not the news. Without her on the morning show, Chris and Grace get along well, are polite, have respect for each other. Demetria had 0 respect for Chris and it shows. She needs to go - I think she is going to cause the ratings to plummet for nighttime news now. Their biggest mistake was bringing her back.

Its playlist is classified as "modern rock," although I consider it heavy on the classic rock side. During the 1980s it was north Alabama's top rated station! The Dunnavant's sold the station to Cumulus Broadcasting in 2003, although the Dunnavant's remain co-ownership with other affiliated radio stations. The Mojo Radio Show is one of their most popular programs. The "Daly Download with Carson Daly" is also popular. They promote the "Sweet Deals" which are often really good deals on things like local golfing passes for super cheap and dining and local attractions at a good discount. I love their "Sweet Deals!" WZYP's format remains Top 40. Although I grew up listening to ZYP, I prefer Sirius XM stations to ZYP'S constant Top 40 playlist.
