There's a lot that goes into wedding planning, that's no secret. One of the most difficult junctions of the planning process is deciding your budget and figuring out which vendors are most critical to your big day. For me, the most important thing was capturing every beautiful moment - that's where Ben with Whole Heart Video came in. I could shout this from the mountain tops - if you're considering hiring a videographer, look no further. Whole Heart Video was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Ben was extremely communicative. With the pandemic we, like so many others, were forced to reschedule our big day... 3 times! He helped us navigate through the stress of rescheduling and continued to encourage us. I had never met Ben face to face but something about him was calming and I felt at ease knowing the task of capturing the big day was in his hands. Let's cut to the actual day - incredible doesn't cut it. Ben came to video my bridesmaids and I the morning of and added so much fun to the day! I speak for my entire crew when I say we felt so comfortable in front of the camera. Ben did such a great job of working hand-in-hand with my photographer - he got so many smiles and candid moments. I'm not super comfortable in front of the camera but I know it was Ben who helped me get there and I was able to *live my best life* without worrying about anything. My husband and I recently got our highlight video back and it was everything I'd hoped it would be. Our day was PERFECTLY captured. When you're in the moment it's hard to hold onto every moment because everything is so overwhelming. What Ben put together for us, knowing all the hours he spent planning and editing, was just so incredibly special. I think it's important to really vibe with your vendors leading up to the wedding and especially on the big day and I would now consider Ben a friend. After months of searching countless thumb drives, email folders, and corners of every cloud, we reached out to Ben as a last ditch effort to see if there's any chance he still had footage.... from 5 years ago. Ben was fantastic to work with from start to finish. We were on the fence about having a videographer for our wedding, but Ben answered all of our questions/concerns and made us feel at ease from the beginning. Little did we know when we booked Ben that we'd be in for the ride of our lives (aka the year that was 2020) and we had to change our plans several times as things with the pandemic continued to evolve. Ben was incredibly understanding and flexible throughout, and was quick to respond to our questions and new plans. While our day wasn't exactly as planned, we feel so lucky we had such kind and supportive vendors like Ben to help make our day special no matter what it looked like. He truly went above and beyond our needs/asks and it was deeply appreciated. While Ben's fun to have around, you won't even realize he's there. I was worried about being distracted with having another camera or two around, but he truly makes himself disappear and still captures all of the moments. It's really impressive. We are so happy to have our video to play back as there are so many little details that you forget or get glazed over because the day goes by so fast. We had an amazing experience working with Ben and Lee at Whole Heart Video and would recommend them to anyone looking into getting a videographer for their wedding. The entire process from planning to day-of coordination was seamless and well thought out. Ben was very responsive via email and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. We decided to go with a Highlight video and Ben did a wonderful job piecing together all the important moments from our day into a highlight video. Lee also took the time to meet with us and prepare in advance, running through our timeline and ensuring he understood our vision. On the day of the wedding, he didn't feel intrusive and yet was able to capture so much of our day. He also helped direct us in a comfortable manner to ensure he could capture additional footage in addition to the authentic moments. Short version: If it's in your budget and you're on the fence, get off the fence and book these people! Longer version: We knew we wanted to invest in video for our wedding. Not to post on social media, but to have real video we could look back on and watch years down the line to see our family celebrating together, to see us exchanging vows, etc. We got both! Some social media worthy videos, some longer videos just for us. We filled out some forms so Ben could know what we were looking for. Then we also met via zoom/video ahead of time with our day of videographer, which was great so we could know the guy with the video camera all day/night and he could know us. Our day of videographer captured it all AND worked well with our photographer. No one seemed to be in each other's way, and they seemed to communicate well to each capture great moments. Our final products were sent to us and were so good. Ben took care of little edits we wanted without hesitation. All in all, great experience, great end product/videos, and I felt like we got our money's worth. Highly recommend Ben and Whole Heart Video! read more

I cannot recommend Ben highly ENOUGH. Any bride I've spoken to that did NOT have a videographer at their wedding always lists that as her number one regret. And if you saw the video footage from my wedding, you'd understand why ;) Ben is incredibly talented and fun to work with. He was so accessible leading up to the wedding, taking calls with me to discuss all the little details and making the whole process so easy. Day of, he was just a pleasure. First of all, he's very discreet, so I hardly noticed he was there, which led to many lovely candid moments captured between not only my husband and me, but my family, friends and the bridal party, too. Our highlight reel perfectly captures the joy and sparkle of the big day (and night), and I've been watching our ceremony and reception videos on repeat. Ben is an absolute pro. He didn't just capture the magic of our wedding, but added to it. He even offered the groom his jacket when we started getting cold taking pictures outside -- in Chicago in December, no less.
