Love, love, loved this experience from setting up my appointment to picking up the photos. It was so much fun. Before the photo shoot, they reach out to learn a little more about you and your family. At first I thought this was silly, but then I realized that the studio wants to make sure you get the photos that you want that show your family how you see them. David did an amazing job during the photo shoot! We showed up with my grumpy 12 year old rat terrier mix, two year old crazy wild terrier mix just picked up from the shelter earlier in the month, a teenage boy, and my husband. David showed amazing patience and grace throughout our time in the studio. Somehow he even managed to get a real smile from my step-son while he was holding the dogs! I won a photo session with David eight years ago at an animal rescue fundraiser. He still had the proofs, and I was able to order prints of my kitty Bailey who is no longer with us. To see his photos, just took my breath away. We love all the photos. We have them above our mantle, and we love to sit and look at them. read more

We are extremely pleased with the exceptional results of our photo shoot with David Sutton and his entire staff. We were a bit apprehensive when we started, having never been through such a process before. As we started though, David showed how well he can read pets and their people. I wasn't sure we could bring all of our dogs for our family picture. We have four dogs with very different temperaments and ages...not an easy group. I needed to update my review as when I wrote the first one, I had just had my sitting and had not even seen the proofs. Well, all I can say is WOW! From what I thought was not an ideal sitting, David captured amazing images that truly brought me to tears. Nice atmosphere. Mr Sutton was punctual and good working with our dog. But when the photos [very expensive] came back, the quality was poor. The tone range was flat, no highlights, very limited detail. We couldn't see any difference between the proofs and the finished photos. And the selection process was awkward. If you don't want his signature huge on the mat, you have to embarrass yourself by asking him not to put it on. read more

Happiness is having a photo taken by David Sutton. The first time we went was as family (wife, son, dog) on my 40th birthday. Our dog began freaking out and things seemed like they were headed south. But David was calm and took control of the situation, making each of us laugh and somehow making my dog cock his head and smile just the way he does at home. I cannot say enough good things about David and the rest of the folks at Sutton Studios. I was given a portrait sitting as a gift for my birthday. I took my bulldog to the sitting adnd what resulted were several dozen of the BEST photographs I have ever seen. He perfectly captured my dog and her silly personality (and he even made me look good)! The pictures he took of the two of us were the best photographs I have ever been in. I have one hanging in my office and every single person who has seen it has been amazed at how good it is. David is warm and friendly and immediately puts everyone (dogs and humans) at ease. He puts on some music before the shoot starts and lets the dog get acclimated to the studio before he starts snapping pictures. He knows all the tricks to get the dog to do just what he needs in order to get a great shot. Agree with Leslie P. the photos turned out great but to get reprints or anything else from your shoot it's prohibitively expensive. Honestly, for what they are asking you can buy a (really) nice camera and take the same quality pictures, which you then own and don't have to shell and additional $125 just for a slideshow on DVD; which by the way is the cheapest offering. read more
