I attended a special function here and first of all I have to commend them on their friendliness and willingness to accommodate anything that was requested. The food was delicious! It was a lovely Indian spread and everything was fresh and yummy. Dishes and other things were cleared off the tables as soon as you turned your head, it seemed. The folks at the GMC dealership down the street recommended this place for a lunch and coffee while we waited on the rental car company to come through (our truck broke down here on a road trip from California to Alaska). Overall, it was a great recommendation! The staff here were very welcoming and when we were being indecisive about what to order they suggested a delicious meal that really hit the spot... a "Donair" with a side of tomato soup - we both really liked that. My hot chocolate was pretty good although it could have been a little hotter. I didn't actually try their coffee, though - sorry! The environment was very pleasant. Quiet enough to have a conversation but loud enough not to hear every time someone sniffles. Pricing was a tad on the high side given the portion size compared to some of the other places we've been while in Canada, but I still haven't got the Canada to USD conversions figured out so I'm not going to hold this against them. The reason I'm not leaving five stars is because WiFi is an important aspect to a cafe/coffee shop. Unfortunately, their WiFi stopped working for my phone after a few minutes. So I had to use my data connection. Oh well! Still overall happy we had brunch here. PS: They sell lattes with Baileys here. That's pretty epic! We need that in the US! read more

Nice atmosphere for the North. Good Eggs Benny and they sell a 1/2 order for $7.00. Good for seniors. Took the grand baby with me and they do have clean highchairs. The waitress doesn't usually deliver but she delivered to me cause I had the baby with me. The bathrooms fit the stroller so that was good! All in all a nice place with decent pricing. Amazing breakfast/lunch spot, located downtown in Fort St. John. The 'mainline' breakfast is a great if you feel like a traditional bacon and egg breakfast. For a healthy alternative, they also have the a yogurt, fruit and granola breakfast (called the whole wheat and honey) that's delicious. I must admit upon first entering I was pretty impressed to find such an establishment so far north. The baked goods looked amazing and the tea and coffee service are impressive. I ordered some french toast, a fruit salad and a tea. I tucked in and right away I noted some areas they could improve. First of all my french toast was cut very thin and wasn't fully soaked in the egg wash. This meant that the edges were just hard dry bread. Also, it had been cooked on the same grill as some sausage and onions. So what should have been a sweet morning treat was a little tainted. The fruit salad was good, except for the frozen blueberries and plethora of uncut grapes. The blueberries were way to cold for my sensitive teeth and the grapes were pretty hard to capture on my dull fork tines. I think next time I go for breakfast here I will try the eggs. At least if they fry onions on the same grill and not clean it off I won't care as much. The tea was tasty. Even though they charged extra for soy. Again I will always be annoyed by the additional charge for soy. Basically because 50 cents is highway robbery. If anyone sat down to do the calculations I doubt it costs that much more. All that said I would definitely go here again and try out some of the other menu items. Please note all of the criticisms discussed above I chalk up to tough love. I figure if a business wants to charge high prices for food, the quality should match. read more

Right around the corner from my hotel was this quaint, yet busy diner. I didn't even know it was there until I discovered the reviews for it on Yelp, so kudos to my fellow Yelpolinos. You read that right. Yelpers doesn't have the enough flair, so I made up a new word. As I was strolling in, I noticed a Legion sticker on their door. As a huge supporter of our military myself, that was nice to see. They have a decent menu including a very large breakfast menu that they serve until 11am. They have basic diner fare for lunch including soups, salads & sandwiches. I wasn't particularly hungry, so I just wanted something hearty and small. Cup of soup it is. Their soups were a tomato or a bacon chowder this time, and since everybody and their dog loves bacon, I went with the latter. I actually have a Jewish friend that has the habit of eating bacon during the Sabbath. His Rabbi must hate him. Back to the review, in no time I was served enjoying my small lunch. Perfect consistency and fairly flavourful. I quite enjoyed it so I think I'll need to try their donair next time. read more

Service can be a hit or miss. If I go early enough in the weekdays, the service is friendly and not too long of a wait. The other day, I was disappointed by the slow ass service and the lack in sense of urgency. The girls on shift seemed to not care that there were a huge lineup of people waiting . Love this place! I ate here 2 or 3 times a week when I lived in Fort St John. I never had a bad meal, the hot drinks are amazing, and I appreciate that they use as much local produce as they can. I live in Edmonton now, but every time I'm back in FSJ for a visit I eat here at least twice! The Breakfast Burrito is one of a kind, just ask them to add ham or bacon. The fresh baked muffins in the morning are a great way to start the day. And I'm not really a pancake guy, but I could eat stacks of the pancakes made here. The lunch menu always has an interesting variety. The soups are very flavourful, and the sandwiches are delicious ( not to mention considerably healthier than anywhere else in town) This is also a local hotspot for the local music and art scene. If you haven't been yet, you owe it to yourself to check this place out. read more

A visited this establishment yesterday with a buddy of mine, and it was fantastic! The place was hopping. there was talking and laughter, and an overall great atmosphere. Even though it was busy the service was very fast with friendly staff. We had a bread bowl to start, and it was served with an oil and vinegar dip... delicious. My main dish was the chicken Caesar wrap, and the only complaint was it was very weak on the sauce. As long as you don't mind some noise (which I don't) I would highly recommend this cafe to anybody! read more

Nothing beats the atmosphere of this place! By far my favourite place in Fort St. John. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Nowhere makes a better Chai Latte than this place! Had heard awesome things about WWnH so we decided to pop in while we were running errands downtown. I tried their French toast, but it was not my cup of tea, so-to-speak. It was made on some sort of rye bread and was just really weird. It was 10:30am as well, and yet....they had no baking. None. Nothing. Not sure why not, as I was given no excuse or explanation. Just "we don't have any". Not even a rice crispie square or muffin. A can of juice was $2.25, which I thought was a little ridiculously overpriced. We haven't been back since. My husband said the coffee was pretty good though. The service was definitely lacking when we went as well. I will never understand the customer service in this town. If you are busy or have something to do before you can help me...simply make eye contact or tell me "I'll be right back" or "I'll be right with you" or "I'll be there in just a minute". SOMETHING. Acknowledge your customer, service people of Fort St. John! :( Would be a great place to visit if you're into very healthy nuts n' seeds type foods, I think. Though that still won't make up for the high prices and lack of service...but if you're into that type of thing, you might find the food to be worth it. Good food and good coffee ( the egg benedict is AWESOME),just dont expect speedy service. Go there if you have time to kill. Time managment and order priortization are not there strong suites. I had to leave one morning without getting my coffee because i simply couldnt wait while the barista finished up her orders she let get built up. Wasnt busy at all either. Visiting family and decided to try this place. I ordered the hot special - roasted brussel sprouts with candied walnuts and red onion on a bed of spinach with a delicious dressing. My daughter tried mine and ordered one for herself. She got the last one which was almost twice the size of mine but it came covered in grated cheese. Being vegan she couldn't eat it and asked for a refund. This was ignored several times and instead asked if she wanted anything else. Say anything... company policy, we don't do refunds, we already spent the money... anything... just acknowledge the question. My salad was very good, $13. We also ordered veggie wraps which were good and a donair which from where I was sitting, seemed pretty skimpy on the meat. I think the food is delicious, and except for this unfortunate incident I found the service to be very good as well. read more

Had a wonderful late lunch with my two little ones. Could be because none of us had a melt down!! Cafe had a Kid's Meal special - perfect. Choice of Grilled Cheese or PB&J with veggies and dip along with a chocolate chip cookie. I usually dislike ordering grilled cheese because usually you'd get a piece of processed cheese between white bread (void of any nutritional value). We were all pleasantly surprised with a hearty seeded bread with real cheese! And you know ordering food for toddlers is touch and go whether they will actually eat it or that it will be a totally waste of money that gets thrown in the trash. Both girls went to town in the sandwich, even the extra sandwich that was brought to our table! The cookies were so good we had to order two more (gluten free). I also had a sandwich special and soup. It was a Chorizo White Bean soup - so good and obviously homemade. I think, especially on these chilly days when you are just wanting a GOOD bowl of soup - this maybe the place to go. I finished off my lunch with a special coffee that I savoured! Atmosphere reminded me of a few cafes back in Victoria - except you're not crammed in. Looks like a great venue for a staff party! Looking forward to going back! read more
