I recently moved to Pocatello and had to start using a daycare for the first time ever. This was a…read morehard adjustment for my children and myself. Amber and Donovan were so good to help step me through the process of all the paperwork, explained how the daycare worked, gave me a full tour of the facility, introduced me to staff that were there and went above and beyond to make sure that I felt my child would be safe. It has been a couple of weeks now and my children are still adjusting to this new routine and ABC Kid City Daycare Owners and staff are just as amazing as they were the first day I went in. They have continued to go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that my children are being loved and taken care of while maintaining a professional atmosphere. I am not special nor do I get preferred treatment I have seen this excellent care of service for each child and parent that walks through their door.

One of the worst things that can happen happened today, I got a call from a Pocatello Police…read moreofficer asking where my son was supposed. I don't usually drop my son off my girl does, to unlock the door you need a finger print and a password, you check your children in on that same device so the school "supposedly" knows who is there and who is not. To enter or exit the school you must walk past the reception desk to the classrooms. My son took me too a class filled with other kids I looked around and didn't see a teacher specifically in the area but felt comfortable leaving my son with the other playing children. I left and received a phone call from the police explaining my son wasn't at the day care and had actually crossed 2 streets and was in the Fred Meyer parking lot when he was found by an old man!!!! MY 4 YEAR OLD SON!!!!!! when I arrived at the school I pointed out that the exit button was too easily accessible too the children and should maybe have a cover on it or possibly be moved higher on the wall. The response from the school was that they don't even have to have that button there and that its illegal too cover it. well its illegal too loose my children as well, they then said that it was my fault because I didn't introduce myself too a teacher, then after saying that said that a teacher had seen me and not recognized me which means they were fully aware that someone had dropped off another child and if their safety protocols work properly the computer should have notified them my son was checked in, not to mention if I leave my kid with other kids that should be a safe place the fact I walked in and out and then my son was able to do the same minutes later ,means they were being negligent, I just don't want to see someone kid go missing or get hit by a car or something of the nature. when you drop your kids off with a stranger its a calculated risk hopefully this story helps you make the proper calculations for yourself and your family.
