It is located on the Upper Level near the so called foodcourt containing the likes of BB's, Burger King, Subway and Chicken Cottage. I came here to post a letter, there didnt seem to be a Post Box, it just was a hidden counter service, it didn't feel like a full post office but they did still sell a selection of envelopes. There was a large selection of drinks, however some of the pricing was a little expensive such as a Lipton Iced Tea costing £1.29 which normally retals at around £0.99. The overall vibe and feel of the store was average, not too great but one thing saved this store from getting a low two star rating and that was - Customer Service. Having been well and truly drowned in the Manchester rain, my envelope was ruined and wet too, but the man behind the counter went out of his way and gave me a free envelope and a pen to use to re-write the event and then of course he helped get it posted for me, which was really kind. When I came into Mirage News I thought it was just a bog standard newsagents. Crisps, sweets,…read morecigarettes, bottles of fizzy pop and few newspapers. That kind of thing. That's certainly what it looks like from the outside. And it does sell all of those things. But what it also does is tobacco. So what I'm talking about is cigars. In fact a couple of cabinets full of the things, with a wide range of types. They also sell tobacco, in flavours such as apple, banana and toffee, all weighed out to the amount you would like. They also sell paraphernalia like pipes and lighters. The guy serving is nice enough too. What Mirage News is really great for is its tobacco though.

That's it basically. It's a newsagents. Crisps, magazines, papers, sweets, fags, gum and polo's are its thing (as well as phones, obviously).

You can imagine my joy when I saw this shop, and imagined myself redeeming my Euros against a large pile of newspapers, fizzy pop and sweets. It was terrible news then, when I discovered that you are expected to pay in British Sterling. Jokes aside, it's a good little newsagents. Especially worth a look at is all the Haribo style sweets, that are not Haribo branded, but taste the same, and are about half the price. The selection is great. Plus its got some strange random items that tourists might be interested in. This is just speculation though, as I don't know any tourists.
