The Festbier and Monkeys Dunkel on tap were but really good esp paired with the soft pretzel with bier cheese and goetta tater tots. Honestly, how can you go wrong with goetta!? Great tucked away pub with a super variety of beers. If the Mustard Club buffet is an indication, they have great brats, the Goetta tots were fantastic, and best sauerkraut I've had in a restaurant. When we inquired about our food twice since we had been waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes for it - we were told there's just a lot of orders in and you're in the line. A simple- I'm sorry let me check on it for you - would have helped. Amist the chaos, the owner or manager was aimlessly wandering around - not helping the staff at all. I'm updating this after having just come home from lunch here but standing at my kitchen counter, eating. Why? Because my burger was so awful that I was given a $5 discount on it and I left it with only 4 bites taken. I tried to refuse the discount multiple times. I wasn't looking for a discount - just some food because by the time i finally got my food I was shaking from hunger. And the service? Terrible. Very, very slow. It always is and is a reason my daughter and her coworkers have stopped coming at lunch. But today we decided to try it again and waited 40 minutes after ordering to get our food. It was disputed to me - when I mentioned that I had already waited for 40 minutes and since my daughter only had an hour for lunch, that I couldn't wait for a remake - that it had only been 30 minutes since I ordered. Nope. We were clock watching because of my daughter's schedule and how long it was taking. The place was nearly empty and two servers. Maybe she waited 10 minutes to put the order in. Maybe because both servers were on their phone several times (hiding in the server station that was visible to us). What was wrong with the burger to make it inedible? It was a plain, dried out, overcooked burger on a bun. She asked how I wanted it, "How it comes?" And I said, "Yes" - looked down at the description and then said, "With everything." Which she repeated and my daughter heard. I can honestly say that was one of the worst burgers I've ever been served. No cheese or toppings of any sort. No ketchup. Just a very overcooked, dried up lump of beef on a dry bun. And the taste? Exactly what you'd expect from the description. Based on this last experience and the extremely slow service, that has been an issue every visit I've had and every visit my daughter and her coworkers have had, I just can't see myself ever coming back here again. read more

I have returned to this brewery several times since my first visit. Although a relaxed atmosphere, they draw a good business with events and live music throughout the weekend. Service has been great and the servers seem to be familiar each time. We have enjoyed the soup, fried pickles, fries, fish tacos and fish sandwich. Food is served on paper. First timers on a busy and loud Saturday about 8pm. We stood in the entry way for about 15 minutes and no one acknowledged us. No signs as to whether we were supposed to seat ourselves. A customer told us to talk to the bartender who was very busy. She told us to grab a table. We sat at our table for about 20 minutes with no service. Finally I got up and poked my head in the kitchen to ask for menus and waters. Once we were able to actually order food, it came out fairly quickly and it was decent. However I was disappointed that we were given disposable plastic utensils and cups. Overall it felt a bit chaotic and seemed like they focus mainly on the beer drinking crowd. read more

Second time trying this place and very disappointed. I honestly feel awful for the bartenders. Our salad, veggie burger, and pretzel took 45 minutes, and everything but the pretzel was cold.. like not like warm, cold. First time in my life walking out without even giving a chance for them to remake it. We left the bartender a tip and paid for our beers, but she deserved more! Having to witness the owners of this establishment belittle their employees is awful. Maybe if your employee does something "wrong" talk to them about it not behind the bar where costumers can hear and see everything. One of my kids works at Wiedemann's, giving me a great excuse to visit for the first time. It was a hot sunny day but comfortable on the large deck, which has plenty of tables under a canvas awning and umbrellas. There was a great soundtrack playing, mixing honky took, soul and old-time Wiedemann ads. It gave me good adult summer camp vibes. Service was prompt and friendly. I started with the Blood Orange Blonde Ale. It's light, fruity and a good choice for a hot afternoon. My turkey BLT was fresh and well-sized. Potato chips come with the sandwiches but I opted to pair mine with a generous side of crispy tater tots. I finished with the Wake Me Up Hazelnut Coffee Stout -- delicious! I finally got around to trying Wiedemann's today, and it was a pretty good experience. As an appetizer they have a wonderfully soft pretzel with a good cheese sauce that shouldn't be called beer cheese, because there was no taste of beer in it whatsoever. That was pretty disappointing at a brewery but, as I said, it was a good cheese sauce. The assorted sausages on sauerkraut were very good, accompanied by a mediocre German potato salad, but the French Dip was probably the best I've ever had (including my homemade one), with a very tasty jus for dipping. Although I don't live in Cincinnati, I visit yearly. My family lives in St. Bernard and were all very excited about Weidemann's opening. I got to try it out over my holiday visit, and we had a great time. They have a wide selection of beers and the beers that I sampled were very tasty. We had a huge party (with kids) and got a large area to ourselves. There is a Touchtunes jukebox and we had a ton of fun playing songs of our choosing. We started with some fried appetizers, which all were to our liking. I decided to go for a Buffalo Chicken Pizza and it was absolutely delicious - just the right amount of spice and dressing. My husband got the Goetta Melt, which was a fun Cincy themed item for a Florida guy to enjoy. How fun is this place? Located inside a former funeral home, the interior is so cool! The bathrooms are art deco-ish with funky light blue toilets and pink sinks, really fun to see these old fixutures still in use. Everywhere you turn inside, there is something to read or see. Outside has a deck area and also a huge gravel yard with firepits and a stage. You can have any type of experience you want here. We sat inside, and my only gripe, it was pretty hot in the room we were in. I don't think there was any a/c in there. I was super impressed with all of the beers we tried, and we had 8 of them (flight size). The food is on a limited menu right now and they were out of a few things as well. So, for sure I'd come back for beer and to hang out, maybe have a snack. Check it out! read more

Overall a solid evening at Wiedemann's Fine Beer. We ordered flights for our first visit. Options include a flight of four, and a flight of nine. We opted for two flights of four. That was a good amount for us. (They had nineteen beers on tap.) My three favorites were the Grapefruit Wheat Ale, Blueberry Tart Wheat Ale, and the Wake Me Up Coffee Stout. Both the grapefruit and blueberry wheat ales were refreshing. I rather enjoyed their lightly tart finish, and that they were less aggressive than some other tart beers I have tried. Wake Me Up is a solid coffee stout. Hard alcohol, wine and soft drinks are also available. My husband and I found the food to be alright. Our children on the other hand really enjoyed it. While I probably would not crave the food, I would eat there again. Having the ability to order food, (without checking food truck availability,) is actually a big draw for us. Portion are good for the price. Lots of entertainment options. Aside from talking to the people you are with. Several TVs, darts, coin operated games, and board games are available. Wiedemann's Fine Beer may need to change their name to "Wiedemann's Fine Beer and Museum." Adorning the walls are pieces of brand and Cincinnati memorabilia... spanning 150 years. Make sure to check out the bathrooms as well. It is clear by all the embellishments that no expense was spared when the bathrooms were originally built. Wiedemann's has opted to keep the bathrooms in all of their art deco glory. Elizabeth was our server. She mentioned early on that she was the only server working at the time. My husband and I visited for their "Falling for Wiedemann's Fall Beer Fest," which unfortunately due to weather was moved inside. But we still had an amazing time and feel like this will be our new favorite local brewery. If you are interested in Cincinnati beer history, talk to anyone that works here and you will find that Wiedemann was a brewer that worked at Kaufmann Brewing Company in OTR pre-prohibition and moved his operation to Newport in 1870, becoming Kentucky's largest brewer. This space was an old funeral home that opened in June, though they've been brewing since May. There is a huge "bohemian" beer garden outside that I'm sure would be very fun in the summer. The bathrooms and other touches around the space definitely give off that older, cozy vibe that makes the place very special. Lets talk beer. The original "bohemian-style" beer is light and very drinkable, similar to a pilsner or standard American beer. Good for someone that walks into a brewery and asks for a Bud or Miller Lite. We had the flight of 9, which is pre-selected (though the bartender was more than happy to substitue the Oktoberfest for an IPA as we are not IPA people). In a world full of double and triple-hopped IPAs and sour beers (which we do not like), I was very pleased that we had many options and loved them all. The blond, brown and stout were favorites, with the Oktoberfest being my favorite. I am definitely a seasonal beer drinker. The food is all bar food, though it was done well and in a timely manner. When you need fries and tenders at a brewery you need them fast. The prices are also all good too, no jacked-up food truck pricing here! Definitely give Wiedemann's a try. This place is definitely a family, I learned all of this information just chatting with other patrons and the bartenders, waitresses and hostess that night. read more

I met with my two brothers and my sister for a family reunion in the town where we lived as kids. The Brewery made a great place to meet. There's at least two rooms, the large main bar where live music was playing and a smaller one off the front entrance. As we wanted to catch up, we choose the smaller area. Service was excellent as a waitress was working that area and very attentive to us and another party. We all tried different brews on tap. My favorite was the blonde ale while the others selected flights of different brews and enjoyed them all. Food selection was good and my WiediWurst Brat with kraut was very good. The larger flight is preselected beers, although they were out of three so we got to choose. Maybe it's because I ended up with beers I wouldn't have chosen, but nothing really stood out to me. For food, we got the pretzel, which was pretty basic. I ordered the goetta melt with tots. It was ok, but pretty greasy.
