I had heard of this area for years, but hadn't gone to Santa Fe to explore it. Well, now I've had…read morethe opportunity and only wish I'd have done it sooner. As an artist, art walks and art districts are my life. It's not only research; it's also a source of regular inspiration. Canyon Road was dazzling with inspiration. The color that spilled from the galleries, the statuary that peppered the walkways, the road is a visual mapping of creativity. The galleries offer everything from antiquities to modern art, jewelry to textiles, crafts to fine art, open studio spaces to showrooms available for appointment only. There is definitely a southwest-influenced throughline along Canyon Road, but it's also got an international flair. There is a reason it's gained a reputation as a cultural art hub. If you find yourself in Santa Fe or planning a trip there, it is worth scheduling a half day or more for the experience. This "roadside attraction" is guaranteed not to disappoint. The true value in places like this is getting a taste of what it is like to be a part of the area you're visiting.

They really do have a variety of things, despite being a tiny space. The owner also is an artist whose work is on display in the area. Very cool guy, friendly, and down-to-earth. I really enjoyed chatting with him and learning more about the art and artists he has in his shop. It's very clean, which is appreciated. BUT ~I'm not flashy... from the moment the blonde older woman (owner?) saw me walk in she made it clear we were not welcome and seemed suspicious about our very presence. Mind you that although we were casual we were not sloppy. I love fashion, art and the finer things .. as well as a good dive bar and Levi's but I felt VERY unwelcome for no good reason. Bad day perhaps? I was friendly to the shop keeper but she seemed pretty salty and sus. What I have to say is I came in intending to spend real money and enjoy myself but I was so put off by this small town basic B that I won't be back. Good luck with this unremarkable business. Well, Andrea Fisher Fine Pottery did not disappoint! We saw so many pieces that were amazing (it was like looking at a restaurant menu where everything sounds great), but one really jumped out. So, we bought it! And it looks absolutely fabulous in the spot in our home that needed a little something' somethin'! Thank you to the staff that assisted and educated us, and so carefully wrapped our purchase for the walk back to our hotel and the drive home.

OK, so I'm admittedly not an art gallery person (The Hubs is), however, I did like this gallery. They had a nice variety of different art media (medium?) that I actually found interesting.
