So, I really have had mixed feelings about this place over the years. I pretty much refused to go here when they were doing their "Abortion Fund of Ohio" campaign.......so I really hope they've stopped that at least. Kinda creepy considering they sell baby stuff here. But speaking of selling baby stuff, there are items here that also are definitely not appropriate for young children and it's pretty mixed in throughout the store with stuff that clearly is for children, so be very cautious with that if you bring your kids in here. This is my go to spot for gift buying. I only go in a few times a year, but it's always with a mission and I always find something perfect. I'll buy greeting cards here for special occasions - they are a bit pricey but it's nice to buy local, and all the cards are so adorable. They have an endless variety of cute mugs and knickknacks, but my favorite is their wall of tee shirts. Most of them are "Ohio Pride" themed, all are soft and comfy, and you can find a gift for anyone you are having trouble shopping for. I've finally made it to the new location! Hours are expanded and so has the shop. There's room to walk around and dozens of people can be in the space without bumping into each other. The items are well placed. Little jewelry items are near the counter. One wall has lots of t-shirts and cards. Everywhere you look there's something new to see but it's not cluttered. The bigger space allows for multiples of each item type so you have more of a choice than before. As usual, the staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Many hilarious, none lame. We also left with another gift for a graduating friend moving elsewhere to remember his Ohio days. I spied several other gifties for both men and women in my life for which I shall return. Good stuff for kids and adults alike! I think they also have workshops if you want to take a crafty class. I've heard rumor of their "Supply Closet" before -- apparently you can bring in old craft supplies and donate, and take whatever you want from the same area. A search on their website to confirm revealed little information other than a blank headline of "Supply Closet" as of the date of this review. But if that's something that excites you, you should call and ask! We asked for some help with "wrapping" the graduation gift. They were able to hook us up with their cute store paper bag fluffed with tissue paper -- from old patterns! They say they get the old patterns donated in amounts that will never be utilized, and I think this is the cutest use. Going in my memory bank for future parties and gifts. One confusing point - there's a ton of Rifle Paper products in here. Don't get me wrong, I love Rifle -- but, kind of confusing because it's not a local company and pretty widely available? read more

This was my first visit to the new Wholly Craft location. The larger space is packed with crafted goods made from local artisans and some not so local. (But as far as I know, everything is from the US) There is so much eyecandy here it's a little overwhelming initially. They have something for everyone: baby goods, children's toys and clothing, adult clothing, accessories, bath/spa goods, art prints, home goods, and more. BUT! My favorite part of this place might be the Supply Closet located in the back of the store. It's a crafter's trade station. Have some unwanted craft supplies? Drop it off here and exchange it for whatever supplies you'd like to take. Have nothing to donate, but want to obtain some craft goods? No prob, just pay whatever you think the supplies are worth. Have stuff to donate, but don't want to take anything? They are happy to take supplies off of your hands too. Just awesome. I scored tons of supplies for my very handcrafted wedding here. read more

I ordered balloons to be delivered for my niece's 6th birthday. Since I couldn't be there due to Covid, I wanted to send her a special surprise. A crafty store, yes, and cleverly designed to ensure I make grabby hands at nearly everything they have for sale. Here you can find all manner of locally crafted items, from bags and kitchen textiles to jewelry and magnets. They also sell fun things like nightlights with shadows of murderous animals and felted ribbons which declare the wearer "Amazeballs." Locally-themed prints and t-shirts, along with cards of many flavors. So many things to browse, so many things to pine for! There is a small workshop in the back, and they host small parties and groups (Stitch and Bitch, anyone?). This is my new favorite spot! They sell witchlab beard oil, which made my day because it's my husband's favorite beard oil! I also found a great rosewater vegan toner and this incredible exfoliating soap that my husband wants more of, so it looks like I'll be making another trip soon. The newer location of Wholly Craft is awesome and I can't get enough of this store. Every time I go, I find something I just HAVE TO HAVE and I have bought a lot of beloved gifts and trinkets here. They have all kinds of local goodies, from bath products, art, clothes, stationary, jewelry, pottery, and even crocheted mounted animal heads. I also kind of can't wait to have kids just so I can shop the onesie rack they have there with Ohio themed baby clothes (but please don't tell my boyfriend I said that because he doesn't need a freak out). I haven't been able to make it to a crafting class here yet, but I was able to go to an awesome Pinterest Party they had here last Friday and it was an absolute great time. For $10, they had 3 stations set up and we got to make spring crafts. They had all the supplies and instructions prepared and the staff were also really helpful showing us how to make certain things. They even had Pinterest-y snacks that were really cute. It was a unique and cheap way to spend a Friday night and it was even BYOB, so my friends and I split a bottle of wine while we crafted. It was awesome and I hope they put on more parties like that. I love that this store is minutes from my apartment in Clintonville and I love being able to shop locally for interesting gifts. read more
