My husband and I got married in 2024 and I still think about how much I regret hiring her. Writing this review so that someone else doesn't make the same mistake. We should have fired her when she CCd my mother in law on an email to our DJ saying my husband and I would not be signing paperwork at the wedding because we were already married. Still not sure why the DJ needed to know we weren't married. But because of her lack of attention to detail my in laws found out via email that my husband and I were already married before our wedding... She said she couldn't show up to our rehearsal dinner because she had a prior commitment so we had to make accommodations for her to come to our venue and do a walkthrough the day before our rehearsal dinner. So my husband and I had to do the walkthrough with our bridal party without any direction from her which was one of the main reasons we hired her. On the day of the wedding she was never around to help answer questions when I needed her. Every time I turned around she was on her phone or eating. She caused more stress than help and didn't follow direction well at all. Luckily we had a wonderful photographer and videographer who kept us on schedule and who were doing her job even though they shouldn't have had to. I had asked her to fluff my veil once it was time for me to walk down the aisle. She agreed but once I got to the aisle she just stood there and smiled at me and didn't help at all. So the photos I got walking down the aisle were with a jumbled up veil. My last straw was when my husband and I came back from taking photos and I saw her standing there eating a plate of food meanwhile none of our guests had been released to get food so people had started to form a long line and our bridal party and our parents were at the very end of it. She didn't release anyone to get food but made sure she got her plate first. Mind you she also required we bring her a lunch so it's not like she wasn't being fed. We fired her after that. She refunded us half of the bill but I wish I would have trusted my gut and not hired her from the beginning.

To be honest (and this will be no surprise to Carolyn), I was hesitant because I was trying to keep our wedding budget as low as possible and didn't think our wedding would be that complicated. But let me tell you, SHE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY and we have absolutely no regrets. We are so incredibly thankful that we found Carolyn because she is Wonder Woman! Not only is she an absolute expert about Cannon Beach weddings/venues/contacts, but she made the entire process as easy as possible for us by taking many things off of our to-do list and tackling them herself. Carolyn quickly grasped our vision and understood the aspects of our wedding that we did not want to be "traditional". We highly recommend choosing the Full Wedding Planning Package and could not imagine pulling off our perfect day without her and our regular check-ins. Carolyn was organized, kind, humorous, and at the end of the day, got things done. She always made herself available, whether it was planned or last-minute. On the wedding day, I encountered a slight dress malfunction...and Carolyn immediately came to the rescue with her "emergency kit" and made it appear as though nothing ever happened. She always told us that if there are problems on our wedding day, we would never know about them because she would take care of it -- it certainly felt that way to us! There truly aren't words that I could convey to describe the magic Sarah creates behind the lens, but humor me as I attempt. Living in California, I'm used to overpaying for mediocre everything. This is typically the name of the game. The thought of spending $8,000 for a photographer I wasn't crazy about was keeping me up at night; but unfortunately was our reality. It never occurred to me to reach outside of our overpriced-California-bubble, until a good friend was researching for her own Wedding. At first I thought she was nuts, considering photographers in Hawai'i, Washington, Arizona, Oregon; and initially wrote off her notion. Enter, Sarah Willey. Upon the first "check this photographer out" text, I was hooked. It was a done deal in my head, but still I grappled with the idea of travel costs, distance, unfamiliarity with the area, etc. etc. etc. Upon my first contact and phone conversation with Sarah, all those concerns melted away. She was immediately my favorite person. She was down to earth, bubbly, funny, professional, and her price packages were unbeatable. Too good to be true? It wasn't. She was everything and more. And she delivered. This is where my words turn into head nods, shoulder shrugs, teary eyes, and hand claps. In other words, THERE ARE NO WORDS. What she captured on our Wedding day, is purely indescribable magic. I don't know how she did it. Each photo encapsulated the raw emotion we felt in each moment, from our first look, to our vows, to the food, decor, dance floor, everything was perfectly captured in a forever keepsake. Memories in the form of photos. But not just any photos; beautiful, rich, enchanting photos.
