Even though it's a 22 minute drive from my house, I sucked it up and ventured out. What I loved was their late hours on certain weekdays. I work until 4:30 and wouldn't be able to schedule an appointment any earlier than 6. Not a problem here! I arrived for my 6 pm appointment on a Thursday a few minutes early and was met by the receptionist. No clue what her name was, but she looked ready to leave and spoke in a monotone voice. Shortly thereafter I was taken back by Judi, a talkative and incredibly friendly woman who asked great questions and seemed interested in my responses. Within 30 minutes my hair had been washed, trimmed 2 inches and dried. I even rocked my part on a different side, breaking out my wild side wahoo! I will say it was a bit pricier than I expected. $43 for a wash and trim. But they were speedy and nice throughout the entire process so I suppose it was worth it.

I gave her multiple chances to make things right, but she chose not to. I was nothing but kind, and I definitely didn't deserve to be treated this way. No one should ever be made to feel disrespected or uncomfortable in a place that's supposed to make you feel confident and cared for. Drybar gets started as early as 8a. Check in is prompt and my stylist came out quickly. I confirmed I wanted my hair to be straightened and also wanted to try a Liquid Glass treatment for additional shine. The shampoo area was fairly busy; however, plenty of space between me and the person in the next chair. Fairly basic shampoo, conditioner and application of treatment. The drying and straightening of my hair fell into the promised time. I was offered coffee, tea, or water. The chair wasn't super comfortable - maybe I'm made too short to fit it well, but the backside only hit me mid-back. Overall, my hair feels cleans and it's straight, but is still holding a lot of volume. This is the second experience at Drybar where I've come home to flat iron my hair. I also don't notice a difference in my hair from the treatment, which was an additional $15. My stylist was friendly and I appreciated having a quiet morning flipping through a magazine and my phone. BUT ... Overall though, Drybar prices have increased in a way that doesn't match the experience. $75 plus tip?! Nope. I could go to my hair stylist for a cut and walk out with the same dried look. Unless I get an unexpected gift card to Drybar, I don't believe I'll be back for services.
