There's lots of wood and wicker seating out front with shady umbrellas, and I would recommend sitting outside because the chairs inside squeak on the floor so bad I started grinding my teeth. Now, the biscuits: I had coconut macarons, lime shortbread, and coffee florentines, and they were too delicious to believe, try them for yourself. As soon as you place a coffee order they bring you a water glass on a whimsical silver platter, as if to say 'cleanse your palate lady, you're in for a ride.' The service was also top notch and very professional. My cake was also delivered by Heidelberg's staff to the party's venue, just before it started. They do, however, also stock an assortment of other baked goods, including Baguettes and a range of french pastries. Everything is baked on the premises and is delicious and fresh. Although no pains are taken in terms of fashionable presentation, there is a small table setting within the 'croissanterie" at which one can take a pastry, or croissant along with a coffee, which is also good.

I also loved the display of edible meringue people. They've started making the Christmas ones already. It's a little pricier than some of the franchise bakeries, but I like to think I'm buying quality and supporting an independent when I shop here. The staff are friendly and seem to manage to serve people in order, even when there are a dozen or so people squeezed in. If you're not doing a mad lunch-on-the-run, there are a couple of casual tables and chairs strewn out the front where you can savour your baked goods.
