I had never heard of the place, but I looked it up and I liked what I saw. It's in a super cute building and the inside is so cozy. There were so many options to choose from related to painting pottery. I chose two items and soon after the employees guided us through what we needed to do to make our pieces look great. It really was a good time with my work committee and I'm looking forward to seeing the pieces once they've been processed. I'm hoping we get them before Christmas. I couldn't resist buying a hibiscus that was flowering and looked so pretty. It needed to be transplanted to a bigger pot but I don't see one there that looked big enough so I bought one at Home Depot instead. It is also doing really well. As a matter of fact, many of the ones left buy their product from walmart because its cheaper (just kidding). I'm all about cheaper vegetables for families who are on a tight budget, but the trip out here is good for the soul. Walk around, get some exercise and fresh air. Check out the plants, produce, baked goods, and ice cream. This is a wonderful place to take kids. Its educational, its fun, its delicious. You may live in the city and have absolutely no time for a garden, but you and your kids deserve that chance to see what a local market looks like. I'm not sure where they source everything, but they definitely grow much of the flowers and plants inside the green houses. You may pay a little extra, but its worth the trip. When you are finished, get some ice cream and sit out on the rocking chairs. You may catch a cool breeze.

The lady that helped me this week was very helpful and knowledgeable about the plant-world. I was in a hurry when I bought two flats of Mixed Heatwave Vinca; so, I didn't make it to all the other sections of the nursery and that's my loss. There's a tree section; a shrubbery section; an indoor greenhouse and on and on. This place is big! In addition to the annuals, I should've also bought a hanging basket for my Mom for Mother's Day, because there were some beautiful arrangements. Oh and the prices seemed to be less than other places that have hanging baskets and flats of flowers right now. I can't wait to go back to Hazelwood's just as soon as I can.
