It's beautifully maintained, and looks like a well to do family lived here in the 1920's. the stove is the eye catcher here. They kindly have indoor plumbing. I didn't see the barn and church. They are available for rental year round. Activities and classes go on all year as well, and the month of December is Christmas on the farm. Near the house is where all the jellies, jams, breads and other goods are sold. I haven't had my grape one yet. Local vendors have delicious baked goods and sandwiches for the outdoor activities. I tried the kolaches from a local Czech family. This is a good place to volunteer as well. This may be the center of York. If I lived here I'd celebrate every life event at this beautiful landmark. I won't see another eclipse, but I'll come back and visit again.

The 12th Street Cinema only plays movies once an evening on Friday and Saturday, with a matinée and evening viewing on Sunday so tickets usually sell out fast. I was amazed when we walked in the door and it only cost $10 total for my family of 4. That is unheard of with movie theaters today! We then walk to the concession stand where the highest price item was $2 for large popcorn and large pop. I'm pretty sure that most of the workers there are high school kids who volunteer their time for free which is how they keep their prices so low. The entire experience was great from start to finish from the friendly staff, affordable prices and clean theater. My only regret is that I've lived in this town for 3 years and am just now visiting the 12th Street Cinema. I can't wait until our next visit.

Wow what a diamond in the ruff! We were passing through stopping off highway 80 for a break from…read moredriving and we found this gem. To our surprise when we arrived there was a miniature train running around the park. We bought 4 tickets, $1 for kids, $2 for adults. There was even a man dressed as the train conductor, tooting the horn and getting the kids excited for the ride! Once we were done with our train ride we headed over to the playground that was fairly large insize. Lots of bridges, ladders, hideouts and slides. Was a blast for my kid. We finished the stop up with a popsicle from the concession stand. Also worth noting there are indoor bathrooms, although extremely dated and poorly designed. That is about the only negative on this fun stop. Highly recommended detour if you are headed down 80.
