Food trucks and vendors outside of the civic center and then vendors inside. It's not just chocolate vendors inside which would make sense so the chocolate doesn't melt, it's solar, window treatments, realtors, etc. There are WAY TOO MANY vendors in that tiny room. There is absolutely no room to walk around comfortably and actually look at what anyone was offering. And of course there are strollers, wheelchairs and wagons to navigate through. People stop at a vendor table and then hold up the whole line of people trying to walk down the aisles. Please work on your logistics. This was not a fun event to attend, we didn't even stay for 30 minutes. Don't advertise this as a Chocolate Affair. It is anything but.

This event is a yearly event that usually takes place at the Glendale Civic Center. It looks like…read morethis event has been going on for at least 16 years now. Most food festivals cost money and/or parking. What's awesome about this event is that it is one of the rare events where it is free admission and free parking so you really have nothing to lose by checking it out. There were 8 general food vendors which were situated outside. All the chocolate vendors were inside of the exhibit halls in the Civic Center. Along with this were a few other misc pop ups such as clothing, trinket, home improvement, and candy vendors. The chocolate vendors were a mix of actual physical establishments such as Cerreta's Chocolate Factory and pop ups such as Wysked. Something this place had that I don't see a lot of food festivals have is ample seating to enjoy your delicious treats. There's a beer garden too if you're looking for some alcohol. Overall, it's a pretty small festival but full of neat places to browse. Since it's in the heart of downtown Glendale, you can also spend your time walking around time if you haven't gotten full off the savory sweets of this festival.

Especially since there's lots less seasons of any kind waiting for our arrival. Glendale puts on a beautiful public display of lighting, businesses in and around the Square/Plaza/Town Center open, families, friends and lovers stroll through town and life is good. Better than the usual Christmas Light Drive-by. Stop in yourself, check it out, and write your own Glendale Glitters chestnuts for others to read.

I love this street show…read more We've met so many talented artists over the years, we've been coming for the last several. This is my favorite place to Christmas shop because we can buy local artist pieces and one of a kind gifts. I love West Kept Secret's homemade magnets and metal calendars. The weather is gorgeous, there are so many places to sit in the shade, being your doggies on a leash and eat and drink. They also feature local music to listen to in the main quad as well.

We (Yelp Elite) met the coordinator in order to listen to information on directions on how to sample food vendors and vote. It was put simply that there were three lines per vendor and that we could get samples by simply letting the vendors know we were guest judges. We then would vote on our favorite vendors and submit our results after all the given tickets were used up. The event was simply put as horrible and highly unorganized. Most vendors were unprofessional in denying such line for samples or didn't participate in the "contest". Besides that, there was not as many vendors as advertised and seemed to be a bait for a higher turn out for the festival. Also, it's staff did not contain enough knowledge to direct us anywhere or about anything related to the event. It was a mess. I do have to mention that The Panini Guys and Longhorn Steakhouse were the only vendors who participated in the sampling as well as showing some form of respect towards us judges. As mentioned before, most vendors were unprofessional in their responses and condescending. Poorly coordinated, planned and lacked in many aspects. Probably the saddest excuse for something they call a Street Food Festival. Many other guests who had purchased VIP wristbands realized they paid more for nothing VIP and that it was overheard that many wanted refunds for their tickets. Let's just say, I will not be returning- even if offered as a guest judge.

Also, having not attended any yelp elite related events, I had minimal to zero expectations. However, if I was not a yelp elite and had decided to attend the event and purchase a food pass, I would have been so upset. First of all, the sizes of the food samples were extremely tiny - oftentimes the size of my two thumbs. The price of the food definitely did not justify the quantity that customers were given. For the "Foodie Pass" tasting option, $28 gives you 10 tickets - that's an average of $2.80 I could have paid and actually what others were paying for very small portions. An hour after the festival had begun, vendors were beginning to run out of samples and even dishes and cups to put the samples in. Furthermore, there was supposed to be three lines at each vendor, to differentiate between people getting samples, actual food, or express, but more often than not, there was just one long line. That was really silly. I think the lack of communication amongst the event organizers, volunteer staff, vendors, and festival goers was a big issue. So, with the judging, yelpers weren't informed about where to meet initially, that we would be taped, and that even though the event organizer told us to cut the line, some vendors wouldn't let us do so. The event website was definitely misleading. Overall, it was a bit of a mess.

Cool fest to taste the food truck flavors of the Valley…read more The food festival was a Friday/Saturday affair. My wife, little girls, and I attended on Saturday. Bought a stack of sample tickets at one of the tents and we were on our way! The assortment of food trucks and vendors was a hoot. Our sampling included Cajun BBQ, Hot Mess sticky buns, kettle corn, cotton candy in crazy flavors, panini, sorbet, and even a piano lesson. There was a ton and I'm forgetting a good portion. Certainly worth a visit with friends. Traffic and parking weren't absurd and the Glendale Police folks were friendly. Afterwards, we stopped in the comic book shop for a couple comics for the girls with a Black Friday type sale they were having. Critiques: 1) ATMs charged a $5 fee, plus your banks. That's crazy. I walked to Bank of America across the street for a $3 fee... and less chance of card skimming. 2) A number of vendors stopped providing samples. And drink samples were very hard to find outside of tent areas where alcohol was served.

I loved the festival this year especially as they added a bunch of dances from the kids as well…read more It's so great to see the younger generation keep the traditions and stories and dances alive. We will be able to watch and remember these stories for years to come. That was worth everything this year. Plus the food is delicious. And I love the dance troupes and their costumes for each region. I have been coming for years, and I will be going for years to come. It's a wonderful festival!

The music, the food, and the culture are amazing each time we go. Parking is pretty easy - just find a spot not blocking a driveway in the neighborhood or park at a designated place and ride a shuttle to the church. The main stage is terrific for the musical numbers, and we love the variety of the troupes that come to perform here. Saturdays are typically 10AM-8PM and Sundays are a bit shorter from 10AM-4PM. There is a raffle for numerous prizes and tickets are on sale all day Saturday and Sunday usually until 2 or 2:15 when the drawings happen. We usually buy several raffle tickets but have not been lucky enough to win any of the prizes yet. One favorite part of the annual festival is the combination plate which you can get by paying for food tickets and exchanging those for delicious food. Sausage, cabbage roll, pirogis, and a potato pancake? Yes please. So good. The dates for the festival change each year based on when Lent and Easter are each year. Next year, the festival takes place on April 10-11, 2027. Mark your calendars now.

I went to the Tequila Festival with the BF and 2 friends and, honestly, it was pretty fantastic. We…read moregot our tickets through groupon, so it was not terribly expensive. With the ticket, you get 10 drink samples. I tried drinks from Canteen, Cruz tequila, and many others. We got enough alcohol to have a very good time. We also got to try food from the Sandbar (spicy mac and cheese...surprisingly delicious), El Reye de la Torta (always delish), Si Senor (Really good green chile...strong jalapeno flavor, but yummy), and America's Taco Shop (delish pork tacos). I had the added bonus of getting some Yelp sunglasses....fabulous! Overall, we had several hours of fun and entertainment and didn't have to stand in line for crazy amounts of time to do so. We also got to meet Xhibit...so that was....weird. I would go again next year.

Attended this annual event on Saturday. It was fairly big, taking up a good half chunk of the park…read more I only saw a few homeless folks loitering. They must have been hiding until the festival ended. The dollar food sampling tickets were a nice touch, but I only found about six booths out of 150 offering those dollar samples. I tried the $1 tamales and small egg burritos, both were good. Over a dozen food trucks, a huge beer garden and a bunch of local stuff for sale. It was a nice event for downtown Phoenix and finally one where no admission is charged, like the good ole days.
