On weekends this Halloween, they even did fog bubbles. Since the fog they said has an odor, they went out of their way to put a scent in, so the bubbles were pleasant when they popped. If you're on the west side during these holidays, check out their website for dates and time and come visit. You may stay in the car while cranking up the tunes on 99.1, or you can watch them from the sidewalk. So much fun. We appreciate all the hard work they put into this , to entertain people during the holiday season.

It's a bit of a drive if you live in the Gilbert area, but it's a wonderful exhibit for families, friends, and even date nights if you're into lights and scenic walks. Just be sure to wear very warm clothing and comfortable shoes because once you start walking... there's no turning back and it takes a good 1.5hrs to get through it all. lol. For me, after about 15min I was ready to go but not to discredit the event. I didn't come in warm and comfortable clothing, having arriving right after work and at the last minute deciding to go. Parking is $15, and the crew was very friendly. Kim, one of the parking attendants, was especially amazing--she deserves a raise and should definitely return next year. The ticket booth attendant with blue hair was also super polite and kind. I especially want to highlight the entry staff--Sharon, Maribel, and Andrew. They were a total hoot and truly made the entry experience fun. I even spent time chatting with them and learned a lot about what goes into this fantastic setup. I was also able to bless a family with tickets (don't worry about how ). Be a blessing to others this season Overall, this was a great way to get exercise while enjoying the view.

It's divided into four areas: bugs, holidays, ra8nforest, and prehistoric. Everything moves and each interactive piece had us laughing. We went through in under 90 minutes as we were a bit rushed to get somewhere after, but could have spent much longer. The installation runs until January 4th. Pro tips: arrive just before opening for closer parking. Use restrooms at the entrance (port-a-potties) as the next ones are halfway through (not port-a-potty). Parking is an additional $15, but pay for parking online ahead of time to save a few bucks. Allow for longer and take your time to enjoy every interaction and photo op.

(check their website for year round performance info.) For the annual Phoenix Improv Festival at the Herberger Theater, they jury in the best groups from around the United States for one action packed weekend. All you have to do is show up at the theater (well, get tickets first of course) and you'll have an opportunity to see some of the most interesting improv groups from around the USA all without spending a minute waiting for a flight out of sky harbor airport. Get ready to stretch your perceptions of what improv is, as these groups have so many different takes on it. Some will make you laugh, others will be wickedly irreverent or will amaze you with their talents at weaving a cohesive story line. Still others will have you thinking about them a month or longer after seeing their performance because of all the subtle intricacies woven in. Phoenix's veteran improv groups frequently travel to other major cities to perform and have a key role in teaching and mentoring some of the up and coming local groups participating in the festival. What a great opportunity for all to share the stage with groups from outside AZ and interact offstage. fantastic learning opportunities that will only make the Phoenix improv community continue to grow better and stronger and deeper. I attended both the 7 PM and 9:30 PM shows on April 18, 2009 (for a total of six performances), and without a doubt (and of no surprise to me) I was most pleased with WeirDass. Most of you will know Stephnie Weir from MADtv. I was doubly pleased because I had not expected any, what I would call, "headliners." Though I think there is a huge opportunity to market the Festival to the masses that is being overlooked...all in all, I think the Festival has the potential to become great.

Cool fest to taste the food truck flavors of the Valley…read more The food festival was a Friday/Saturday affair. My wife, little girls, and I attended on Saturday. Bought a stack of sample tickets at one of the tents and we were on our way! The assortment of food trucks and vendors was a hoot. Our sampling included Cajun BBQ, Hot Mess sticky buns, kettle corn, cotton candy in crazy flavors, panini, sorbet, and even a piano lesson. There was a ton and I'm forgetting a good portion. Certainly worth a visit with friends. Traffic and parking weren't absurd and the Glendale Police folks were friendly. Afterwards, we stopped in the comic book shop for a couple comics for the girls with a Black Friday type sale they were having. Critiques: 1) ATMs charged a $5 fee, plus your banks. That's crazy. I walked to Bank of America across the street for a $3 fee... and less chance of card skimming. 2) A number of vendors stopped providing samples. And drink samples were very hard to find outside of tent areas where alcohol was served.

Tickets are $5 but all of that goes towards a charity. Parking is also free which is great. I stayed for 5 hours and loved the fact that it never felt too crowded and I never had to wait in a long line to get what I wanted. I just loved walking around seeing all the food choices. I personally felt like they could've fit more places on the actual lawn area instead of making two complete sections to walk through. They had a gate open so you can walk in a nice circle but for whatever reason, they closed that gate which made accessing the food places on the upper plaza more of a pain. Since this place takes place in spring, I wish there were more vendors that focused on cold drinks. There's a bunch of seating on the upper plaza but you can also opt to sit in the stadium seats or bring a blanket to sit on the makeshift grass. Lastly, they advertised that these places would have $5 samples but only a handful actually had them. Overall, a super cool place to try out food truck type food.

Admission was $5.00 and proceeds benefited the hungry. They offered children free admission and use to the splash pad. They offered some full bars. The food trucks were not permitted to sell water or soda so those items had to be purchased (water $4.00) from Peoria Sports Complex Food vending. $2-$4.00 food samples were suppose to be offered by every truck there but I found only a handful of food samples offered. It's necessary to do some Yelp Homework on food trucks or it's just like gambling and you have a 50/50 shot of enjoying what you try. I didn't do my homework and made some poor choices. The samples and food adds up fast and with admission were spent around $58.00.

This is our daughter's fifth year at the studio and we truly couldn't ask for a better dance home…read more The teachers are dedicated, supportive, and create an environment where dancers are encouraged to work hard while still having fun. What really makes this studio special is the sense of community. It's welcoming and positive, and the kids build great friendships while gaining confidence and discipline through dance. Watching my daughter grow as both a dancer and a person over the past five years has been so special, and we're so grateful to be part of this studio.
