    Our cute little cottage!
    Hannah C.

Had a "girls trip" here with my childhood best friend and it was AMAZING! Our cottage was cozy, well maintained, and perfect for the two of us. The staff here is super friendly and accommodating. It is family owned and that is reflected in the service and treatment you get. The food was FANTASTIC! Everything was fresh, homemade, and delicious! They also work with you on any dietary restrictions/needs you may have. My friend has a severe nut allergy and we simply told them we when we booked our reservation and we never had a problem. My friend and I spent 4 days and 3 nights here. We mostly spent our time exploring state parks and historic sites around the area, but it was also nice to just relax at the cabin or down by the river. I would definitely come back again!

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend at the Wilderness Lodge. This was our first time and we will be going back. Our room was super cute, the resort was quiet and peaceful and the amenities was great. I requested vegetarian meals and they were very accommodating. The best part is they are pet friendly. I loved our dog could join along on our weekend trip.

This place was amazing for the long holiday weekend. I wasn't sure what to expect but was blown away by the food and the amenities (there were even fireworks for the 4th!). You can walk right down to the river and get in to enjoy the clear water & they have chairs & tubes for you to use. There was a nice fire pit with marshmallow roasting sticks, tons of yard games, a fun 18-hole putt-putt course, and a tree house with a zipline plus a pool and hot tub. The log cabin lodge itself was such a cool place to be in with interesting art, a great bar (with good beer and wine options), games, and then the dining areas. The food was homemade and delicious. My group had a few food allergies and the staff did an amazing job to accommodate. I'm already planning my next trip!!

Really don't know how to explain how incredible my stay here was. The air-conditioned log cabin I stayed in had two comfortable beds covered with beautiful quilts. It featured a stone fireplace surrounded by comfortable chairs for reading or talking, and a screened in verandah opening out to a peaceful view of the surrounding forests. The spacious grounds themselves were well-maintained and were nestled with many outdoor games areas (basketball, disk disk golf, mini-golf, etc.), while the nearby river offered the opportunity for a relaxing float in the water with friends. All of this helped the big group of colleagues relax and forget about a world of busy-ness. But the thing that compelled me to write this, though, was the incredible warmth, hospitality and generosity of the family running the Lodge. They ensured this 3-day retreat would be absolutely unforgettable.

Came here with friends and the staff and owners treated us like VIP. I've been to resorts but none that has such a hard working group of staff. Food is great! Place is rustic and old traditional. I will visit again.

What a great place for a weekend getaway. We brought our rambunctious German Shepherd puppy for a well deserved getaway. They were accommodating and treated us like VIPs. We stayed in the riverside suites. It has a large deck and windows that open up to the property. We laid around, went to the river, and swam in their pool. It was a relaxing few days. Taylor (the bartender) was awesome. The entire staff went above and beyond. We sat and chatted with the owner during and after dinner, and you can truly tell how much love and pride they put into making everyone's stays perfect. The reviews on the food are all true. It was gourmet food, and I'm not sure I've ever had a 4 course meal haha. 5 stars all around.

I wish I could give them 100 stars. They were amazing. Genuinely nice and accommodating. Super close to the river! We stayed in one of the river suites and I fully recommend it! Zero bugs! Not even one spider. There were games and books in the suite which was very convenient.

A great place to stay. Tom and the staff are super friendly. The kitchen team was amazing. Always hospitable and accommodating. Lester was also a great host. Great bartender and amazing story teller. The location is out there. You won't have great reception if any. But you come here to escape and detach and decompress.

Lovely and delicious breakfast and dinner service!

On our first day we went to the office and inquired about borrowing a golf cart to transport our things between the dock and our cabin and were told they didn't have any. There were numerous Totten's golf carts around the premises and we saw other guests on them. We picked up some family members on the other side of the lake and brought them by boat to our resort. My father in law is disabled with a cane and had already fallen several times that day. He tried to walk up the hill himself and almost fell again. My husband went back to the marina to ask to borrow a golf cart but John was talking with someone inside watching my father in-law on the hill and laughing at him. Due to the urgency of my father in laws condition on the hill and the disrespect of John, my husband got in the Totten cart to pick up his dad and get him up the hill before he fell. After dropping him off, my husband brought the golf cart right back to the marina at which point John came outside and started cussing at my husband and threatening him saying he was going to call the sheriffs department for theft of the cart. The cart was already returned and John knew we are guests of the resort since we had to track him down 2 days in a row to try to buy ice from the marina. We couldn't believe that they would treat their customers that way in a situation of trying to help a disabled man on their property. We immediately checked out. I would not recommend this resort. Any family business should put family first and respect the fact that the property is difficult for people to get around. We had hoped to end our day with a nice family barbecue but instead it ended with our family being threatened for transporting a disabled man up the hill. In the future this resort should be more accommodating to their guests and offer to help people up the hill instead of laugh at them.
