After I ordered overalls that were slightly too large, I did an in-store return. The staff was very helpful, even though the item I wanted to exchange for wasn't in stock, they facilitated the exchange and honored the original price. A friend that came with me tried on some items and their help for people in dressing rooms is above and beyond. The brand aims to be inclusive (size, gender, race, pay) and sustainable. My daughter was looking for an androgynous cut suit for senior pictures and prom. She normally wears a size 16 pants and 14 shirt or basically an XL in most brands. After consulting the few measurements that are available for online ordering we determined that an XL would be her best choice in vest, tux jacket and wide leg trousers. I was prepared to take the suit to a tailor to make adjustments. Buying online is never 100% so we were prepared. Unfortunately, the pieces we received were of such low quality the tailor couldn't alter them unless it was to take them in. The jacket sleeves were too small around and it was extremely tight across the back as well as too tight at the belly. But the XL trousers and XL vest both fit around her waist. The bottom line is that for the price they were ill fitting and the fabric so cheap that we couldn't even have them tailored. read more

Wanted to love this store after seeing them on Instagram, but the cuts on the pants, tops and jackets don't work for me. Everything has a very "boxy" form and loose pants with a low waist. I so wanted the coveralls, that is what brought me into the store, but I would have to have them tailored. I'm definitely curvy so high waisted pants and form fitting tops are more flattering; boxy makes me look twice the size. I've visited several times, even bringing friends. Everyone liked the fun accessories and they have cool sneakers. One of my friends who has what she calls a "square" shape found jeans that fit her perfectly. They have lots of t-shirts emblazoned with slogans, mostly feminist, but I'm not one to wear slogans or wording on my clothing. It would really have to speak to me strongly, like a sweater I bought in Palm Springs that simply said, "sunny." They had lots of button up shirts in conservative stripes and others with floral or patterned prints. I have perused their online store and they have a mock turtle neck and a sweater I really like, but based in my shape and the cut of their clothing, I have to try things on. So I have hesitated to purchase anything as I don't want the hassle of returning. Everyone working there was helpful and friendly. Will definitely give them another try. We also got some outfits for My partner and hands down the best looked dressed she had ever looked. They are alittle pricey but so well well worth it. I ordered 8 items online recently. When I received the items, I was surprised to find that 7/8 items did not fit -- they were HUGE. When trying to size myself, the only option I could find on the website was an AI size selector (you put in your measurements and it spits out a size for you). I tried to find another chart online, and couldn't locate one. When I emailed the company it took them 4 business days to get back to me about the wrong sizing and wanting help on my return as items were selling out and I wanted a different color in something. The person who messaged me was kind, but seemed uninterested in really solving my problem -- I kept being directed back to the automated return portal. There were some items I wanted help on sizing (the person did help with that info by giving me flat measurements of items that were no where near the AI sizing and another chart I found days later). I was disappointed that it took so long to hear from anyone at Wildfang and I was also disappointed that a couple of my overall concerns weren't really acknowledged. 1.) I spent almost $500 and the AI size suggestion was completely wrong. It suggested I was a size 12, when the person I got flat measurements from said I was probably a size 4 or 6 when looking at that flat measurements. The picture of measurements still was different, and it was saying I was a 10 or something. The discrepancy in the sizing is terrible and I really never got an explanation on that. 2.) I ordered with express shipping (paying $15 extra), and because I feel like it's the company's fault for not really having good sizing guides, I have to return/exchange 7 of 8 items I bought. No offer to express ship back to me was offered even though I mentioned it in my initial email. 3.) I wanted help exchanging for a different item/color, and asked a couple times for help with that, and I was just pointed back to the automated system several times. It would have been nice to have someone say, "Yes we can get that correct size in a different color for you" OR "The item that is now sold out in the color you want, we can put it on backorder for you when the new shipment comes in." I just feel that if you are going to help customers, you should help them personally. The person that kind of helped me did fine for probably what she has been trained/asked to do, but the company overall could have made it a much better experience. I emailed 3 times and even commented on Instagram. I was hoping for what I've know as a pretty awesome and inclusive company to just be a little more awesome about the customer service. Sorry for the rant, but I was a little let down. I'm now waiting on the exchange of items that I was able to request. Though a jacket I wanted in a different color I didn't order because I'd have to place another order, a vest I wanted exchanged was sold out in my new size, and one pair of pants the fabric was meh so I just returned them. The quality of the other items seemed good. Hoping the items I exchange will fit correctly and look alright. Trying to give them a chance even though disappointed in the customer service and sizing charts! read more

There was no indication that the sale was "final" until I received my receipt. And thusly, returns nor exchanges are accepted. Be aware. Bought a coverall on their site. They have a weird policy that you can't exchange items if they don't fit right if they're on sale. I didn't want to return it just change for a size that fits, they don't really care about the customers. Once you give them your money, they'll take it and look the other way. My partner, son, and I went in while we were visiting Portland in the beginning of March. What a wonderful shopping experience!!!!! First of all, we adored the staff. They were friendly, personable, and helpful. We felt comfortable roaming around and asking questions. They didn't pressure us to buy anything, but were there to help if needed! I love that. I was obsessed with the can(s) of beer from the bar that we so thoroughly enjoyed while shopping! It was the Cucumber Melon beer (I forget the name of it now!) I've recommended this store to many people in Boston who are looking for gender ambiguous, neutral, or tomboy attire. The button down shirts are sexy and the hooded sweatshirts are so comfortable. EDIT: So the only follow up I got from the company was an email saying "sorry you were disappointed" and surprise surprise my review has still not shown up on the website. No wonder most of the reviews were positive - makes your clothes look great when you can just censor negative reviews. That shadiness alone has put me off ever buying from this store ever again. Funny how the review I tried to leave three times on the website doesn't show up, even though there's three other five star reviews that show up just fine. Gees, wonder why that is. So guess it's going here instead. I've perused the Wildfang website for a while and because it perfectly fits my aesthetic and I love to support queer-based companies so I'd always wanted to try it. Finally I had a little extra to splurge with and with the Empower Wildflower Slim Crop Pants being on such great sale I went for it. I wish really, really wish I hadn't. To start, the color is a much lighter royal blue and not at all the close to navy it looks like in the photos. That would have been fine though except... literally everything else. The fabric is stiff and weird feeling and not easy to move in. Even though I match pretty much exactly (within 1/2") with the size 2 measurements ON THEIR WEBSITE, the waist is at least two inches too big, and the pants overall feel a size larger than they should be. I might have attempted to tailor them except to top it off, the cut is ridiculously unflattering. Like I put these on, looked in the mirror, and couldn't take them off fast enough. And of course since these are final sale, I can't return or exchange them so I'm stuck with a wasted $70+ dollars on what should have been my happy New Year feel-good-about-myself treat. I'm sad this is the review I have for these since I had such high hopes for this brand, but I'd rather spare anyone else from wasting money on these. read more

I brought my teens here to pick out some clothes. They were both very shy at first but Tate connected with one of them and helped them find some things to try on and it was so great! Tate helped us through our whole experience and was an absolute gem. Great friendly attitude and was amazing at helping the kids feel comfortable. I finally purchased one of their amazing t-shirts and was pleasantly surprised to see that they sell several other minimalist beautiful brands in store. They even have a little bar inside, which we definitely wanted to sit at all day! The staff was helpful, if not a bit chaotic, but I won't mark them down for it. The first time I went to Wildfang a friend had invited me to an event. It was fantastic but I avoided writing a review because I hadn't really experienced the store. Today I came back for help finding feminist bridesmaids gifts and the person at the counter was so great, they just made my day. A complete delight to work with and totally helped me with suggestions. Not at all like so many other boutiques where an overly made-up and underpaid burned-out salesperson rolls their eyes at you until you leave in a cloud of shame. I'd love to come back to try on some of the clothes, but definitely keep in mind that this is a great spot for cool small gift finds. I particularly love the pronoun pins! read more

I have purchased many items from this shop and have gotten to know lots of employees. The stuff is kinda problematic because they preach equality etc, but they couldn't answer me where they source their fabric and who sews it. On top of that I noticed some employees that "modeled" for them a few times. I asked one of them how that was and they said they don't get paid any different for modeling then working in the store.... this is wrong. If you're too cheap to hire actual models then don't even try.... or model yourself. These people aren't models and they aren't even getting paid like them. Really wrong. read more

Every time I go in the customer service seems to get worse and worse. My boyfriend has had his eye on a pair of shoe in their store for a couple of weeks. the We finally go in for him to try by them on and purchase them. There was two employees and one customer in the store, once we were greeted by gwe found the shoe we were looking for and waiting a few minutes for the employee at the counter who was helping the other customer. My boyfriend kindly asks if he is able to try the shoe on and she rudely lets us know that once she was done helping the other customer she would grab it for us. We say okay and wait, and wait, and wait. We waited 15 minutes while the employee was on the computer the whole time and other one was in the bar area and the other customer continued to browse. We asked again and she told us to wait until she was done helping the other customer. We ended up just walking out due to being ignored for 20 minutes while trying to get some damn service and purchase a product. They lost our business. read more

I ordered coveralls and was pretty happy with them when they came. The first time washing them - following care instructions - resulted in the coveralls shrinking 2 -3 sizes. Pants went from ankle length to capris, the sleeves from having to roll them up now they fall well above my wrist. I can still wear the suit, I can still fit into it though not at all what I had ordered. The biggest disappointment is that i wrote Wildfang almost a week ago and no one has returned my email. I went in expecting it to be another overpriced downtown boutique with nothing the average Portlander could actually wear and was very pleasantly surprised. Cute, stylish warm coats for under $150, and lots of great denim, printed trousers, and flannel. The theme is tomboy-ish clothing, so keep that in mind, there won't be a bunch of dresses in here, but if you are looking to level up your casual-wear game, this is a perfect place. Fun gifts, postcards, and stocking stuffers too, and of course plenty of things for the men. Four stars for selection and one more because the staff were friendly and not snobby. read more

When I walk into this store, I expect it to be a safe space for women. That's Wildfang's entire marketing scheme, it's all they sell themselves on - that they are a space FOR WOMEN, and for women to be comfortable, to dress how they choose to dress, to be empowered and themselves. And I understand that the manager cannot discriminate in hiring based on gender, but when I walk in and only see a male employee, and the ONLY employee there at that time, I am going to walk away. Some women (like myself) see spaces like Wildfang markets themselves to be and finally feel that we can go there and finally let out a breath. I don't feel comfortable around men, and so I never, ever go shopping, which is why I went to Wildfang, thinking I'd be okay there. If they want to have a male employee, fine, but don't market your brand/store on a lie to get more women into your store. read more
