Por Qué No? Taqueria - Bryan 's Bowl

Por Qué No? Taqueria

Some days aren't planned they unfold. One minute you're…read moreposted up near Burnside Skatepark, concrete echoing with wheels and grit, your kid by your side, chasing something simple... good food. The kind you remember. The kind that sticks. We'd just come off a run through Tacovore solid, no complaints but the word on the street pointed us somewhere else. A name that gets tossed around like gospel in Portland: ¿Por Qué No? Taqueria. You walk in and it hits you not just the smell, but the story. Colors that don't ask permission. Walls that feel alive. It's loud, packed, a little chaotic... the way a good place should be. This isn't fast food. This is a commitment. You might wait. You probably will. Go early if you're smart. But if you land a booth, if you carve out that space and settle in it pays you back. Yeah, it's not cheap. Let's not pretend. But you're not here for cheap you're here for something with a pulse. Something with character. Plates come out looking like they mean something. Not overdone, not pretentious just honest, thoughtful, and damn good. The kind of food that doesn't need explaining. Service? Dialed in. Friendly without the script. They move like they've done this a thousand times, because they have. And they still care. And the vibe? This is Portland in its natural habitat. Funky, a little weird, unapologetically itself. The kind of place where you look around and realize yeah, this is why people fall in love with this city. So yeah, throw it on your list. Hell, move it up a few spots. You're WELCOME !!!!!

What a well-run place! Their staff is on top of it. The menu is great. Love the Bryan's Bowl and…read moretheir vegetarian tacos. They've expanded a lot into the spaces behind the original restaurant by making some very cozy and warm patio areas with the most delightful decor. Whenever I have guests come in from out of town, I make sure to take them here.

The Matador: Big Flavor, Big Plates, Big Personality…read more If Portland had a spirit animal for bold food and cool vibes... it would be The Matador. Let's start with the service--superior. Not just "good," not just "friendly"... I'm talking dialed-in, on-it, genuinely glad-you're-here kind of service. The kind that makes you relax immediately because you know you're in good hands. Now the food... Bring your appetite. Seriously. The portion sizes are LARGE--like, "did I accidentally order for the table?" large. And the best part? It's not just big... it's great. Every bite delivers. And then there's the interior--funky in all the right ways. Dim, moody lighting, eclectic decor, a little edgy, a little artsy... the kind of place that feels like Portland decided to throw a party and invited your taste buds. You don't just eat here--you experience it. Final verdict: Incredible service Massive portions Funky, awesome atmosphere Great food across the board The Matador isn't just a meal--it's a whole vibe. And it absolutely delivers.

what can i say - awesome weather, awesome service, awesome food and drinks…read more and of course the complementary chips and salsa just top it all off perfectly! our group got a shrimp burrito, the tacos, and the ahi tostada. one of the best lunches that ive had in awhile! parking was fairly easy to find on the streets, and although we were seated outdoors, our server was super attentive and accommodating to us. indoor seating looked as equally spectacular, with a classic, homey bar feel.

I just hopped in the drive thru on this adventure and ordered some tacos…read more The service was quick but not so fast that you think the food was just sitting around (we've all had that dried out burger). I was originally going to go to taco bell (what a mistake that would have been). I saw this as I was driving by and thought I should give it a try. The beef tacos came out wonderfully like little steak bites in corn shells. Just the right amount of spice and veggies. I will definitely stop back when I'm in the Tigard area as this was just to tasty to pass up again. They do have indoor dining too I just didn't stop inside. So, I cannot comment on the ambiance of the dining room. Don't pass this one up.

I absolutely love the food here. It was one of the first places I tried when I moved to the…read moreTualatin/Tigard area. Their breakfast burritos are tasty, simple, and while sometimes inconsistent, are still a nice warm meal first thing on a Saturday. However, in the last few months, every time I enter, there's a Sonos speaker that is playing music ON BLAST. It's been in a few different locations; over the condiment bar, or behind the register near the kitchen, and at such a volume that I could barely hear the employee at the register, and I had to raise my voice to be heard by them. Additionally, the employee that normally works the register does the bare minimum you would expect for someone taking your order at a register. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. I get my order out in in a timely manner, but I get the sense that, while this is a family-run restaurant, they're not necessarily including their patrons as part of that family. I think their main challenge is their drive thru. They seem to have one person working the register, drive thru, and handling incoming phone orders the majority of the times I've come in. I'll never skip out on this place, but I avoid dining in anymore. You don't come for the vibes or service, really just a quick and tasty meal.
