I had Willet Construction build a pole barn for me in Jay NY. Pole barn itself was ok, however, I did not get the Anderson 400 windows I asked for. The grading outside was less than sufficient as I had to direct all the water coming into the garage with proper grading. The steps leading to the 2nd floor were thrown in and very shaky with not enough support. The concrete they poured cracked 1 month later as they did not compact stone under the concrete. Alex said they did, but I saw myself the day before the pour that there was very little gravel and not tamped down. I would not have contracted Alex to do my tile job after what his finished product looked like at the pole barn, but was committed. Willet Construction then did install tile at my home in Chazy. They started on a Monday, ripped up carpet and linoleum, and found some more layers of flooring. They spent the next 3 days 930am till about 4pm ripping up the floor, which is about 18 hrs or so of extra labor, which my wife and I were prepared to pay a little extra, since he had no way of knowing what was involved. His guys said they would work saturday and monday( holiday) but did not, next day we waited till 130pm before they showed up with a truckload of the wrong tiles! We ordered classic oak tiles and gor something different, with no warning. My wife and I at this point were displaced from our home already 7 days, noticing his guys were in no rush to finish the project. We took 9 days and camped at our woodlot to not.interfere with the tile install. The last day before we went away again for a few days, I saw tile installed that was not level and and did not line up with other tiles. I was told Alex was coming to deliver grout that day and was hoping he would see the butcher job! We came home and thought they were not done. No thresholds were complete, hole in my wall, material missing from my property, car wrecked with tile dust all over it and the worst tile job Inhabe ever seen. Lippage standards totally ignored, doors don't open due to uneven floor(5/8" deviation in 3'!) And Willet.Construction wants an extra $2258 for 29.8 hrs of extra labor! I paid the balance of.our contract(5000 of a 10,000 quote) hesitantly, bit honestly I just want this contractor done and out. Well, Alex called and was Unhappy that I was not paying for.extra labor considering my tile floor looks like a child installed it. I would have not written anything negative, but when he called me into code enforcement regarding my pole barn, I decided to take the gloves off. I am going to take him to court for breach of contract with both projects. 66,000 for.a.pole barn with wrong windows, incorrect grading, poor stair installation and a cracked concrete floor. 10,000 for tile floor with tripping hazards throughout , hole in the wall and severe damage to wife's car! You should have let it go Alex, please check your contractors before hiring them. BBB.alerted, many complaints. read more

absolute worst company ever! idc what these other 5 star reviews say, they're either working for the company or were coerced to write it, paid 6k for my BRAND NEW FLOORS (addition in front and back 18x26) and now they need to be ripped up and replaced because they just laid them down and didn't feel like telling me I needed floor leveler, now I'm dishing out an extra 4k to have them ripped up and leveled and replaced. my walls look like a kindergartener painted it, my cathedral ceiling is cracking, nail holes poking through, tape is visible on the walls and and ceilings. floors are uneven, the list goes on. SPARE yourself the headache a never hire this trashy company, screwed up my shower completely but then wanted payment to come back and fix it after they screwed it up. knowing damn well they had no intention coming back after payment. my shower required mortar but Alex wanted to depend on google to run his business and put 6 holes in my floor for spray foam. do not listen to any other 5 star review about this company. save yourself, go on vacation and make memories. don't hire. They are scammers. Do not hire them. I hired them to construct a deck and they made the holes in the bars too wide and not up to code then lied about how wide they were. When I asked them to fix it they put metal rods in between the cedar railing which I said was fine for a temporary fix but not permanent but then they stopped responding. They didn't seal or stain the cedar. They were also contracted to replace pavers under the deck they placed them but didn't put the grout in so they all immediately fell out of place and I had to have it redone. They were also contracted to do some electrical work adding path lights which I paid for and they didn't even start. I offered to split the difference with them to repair the mistakes but have gotten no response. I typically never pay the balance of a construction project prior to completion but I trusted them which was a huge mistake. I now have to hire someone else to redo the deck and pavers and a new electrician and am out 25k. read more

If you're looking to pay top dollar for less than mediocre work.. stray no further, Willet construction has you covered. I own a 4,000 square foot home. It took 5 weeks to finish, and rain wasn't a factor. The owners fabricated some sort of story about needing an abrupt final payment in order to make payroll. As a client, this was supposed to matter to me. this is a classic move for contractors because once they've got final payment, contract is final. They won't come back. And email contact is suddenly difficult. They guys didn't come close to cleaning the job site or my gutters full of nails. after being repeadtly assured this would be taken care of. I spent $35K on a roof, bought his crew lunch weekly and my 20 month son has picked up more nails that Mr Willet and co. I'm sure the unfinished siding they removed 20 feet up in order to "repair" the chimney was just an over site. read more

Highly recommend Willett,s Construction. They recently put a new metal roof on for me. Everyone was very professional. The job was done quickly and looks great. When I raised a small concern about a piece of trim they immediately addressed the issue. Crew was polite and happy. They picked up completely when job was done. Alex Willett was paid for over 15,000$ in home remodeling. He left the roof unfinished; no soffit and he didn't do the roof on the porch at all. He left the bathroom unfinished. He failed to build a kitchen cabinet that he was paid in full for. After receiving payment he chose to ignore our phone calls and texts. We had to seek out other contracts and pay them for work we had already paid for! Just to then hear he's installing new kitchen cabinets in his house purchased at malones kitchen and bath countertop . He took advantage of us and used our money for his own home remodels during the covid pandemic when money was already tight. read more
