Dr Bragg performed shoulder surgery to reattached my Supraspinatus tendon in October of 2022 right after my 50th birthday. He is absolutely professional and did a phenomenal job. Unfortunately this rating has nothing to do with the Doctor himself, but his surgery scheduling staff. Specifically Daisy. Very unprofessional and unknowledgeable. She told me Dr. Braggs office does not accept workman's comp. and that the only reason Dr. Bragg was seen in the first place was because he was the on call doctor, implying he doesn't deal with people like us. I ask what insurances are accepted and let Daisy know that I'm pretty knowledgeable in insurance. I asked if she can double check on workman's comp., if not, see what we can do to move forward. She proceeded to tell me that I don't know insurances like theirs. They're "different." I asked her what kind of insurances they take and she said "HMOs and PPOs." Which, I am very familiar with. I told her we would never talk to a patient like that at the office I work at and ended the call. After calling back to discuss the fact that a follow up appointment still needed to be made, (NOW WILLING TO PAY CASH JUST TO GET A FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT), I voiced my concerns about my last phone call with Daisy to the person on the phone, and somehow got transferred right back to Daisy. She informed me that she had missed a note in the chart earlier that says this actually needs to be scheduled with a different department. I said well good thing I called back to try again, because who was going to call me to tell me this misinformation? No one. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was put on hold for over 20 minutes. I had to hang up as I have things to do with my day as well. Sucks Doctors get the short end of the stick when their coordinators would rather have a funky attitude than help. Would NOT recommend this office. read more

My 79 year-old Father-In-Law has NEVER been a fan of hospitals (and most doctors for that matter) though nevertheless badly needed shoulder replacement surgery. Wow, Dr. Bragg immediately won over my Father-In-Law, and the rest of the family. First, his style and communication skills are extremely impressive. We found Dr. Bragg to be authentic, amiable and an an expert who does not withhold his opinions. We felt very well informed throughout. The procedure was successful, as good as we could have possibly hoped for--a specialist obviously at the top of his craft. Two big thumps up for Dr. Bragg. Dr. Bragg is a great shoulder surgeon and I would strongly refer anyone to him who is looking for a strong communicator, personable MD and efficient office. I had a repair for a torn bicep, rotator cuff, labrum and sub-scap and he did a wonderful job and everything turned out better than I expected. He is young, fit doctor who cares about his patients. I have never had a problem getting a call back from a staff member and he embraces technology and the on-line patient portal. Dr.Bragg replaced my right shoulder in May 2018. I cannot express enough what a great communicator he is and how much better I feel. He recommended an approach that has been used in Europe for years but is fairly new in the US. He explained why he felt it was a better option for me and he let me make the choice. Dr. Bragg helped do a surgery on my friend while she was at Mercy General Hospital. She had an infected knee and did a procedure where he removed the fluid from her broke as a joke knee. Needless to say besides being a good doctor, he's a great human being. My friend says yelp is lame so I have to post on her behalf. read more

Update to the bottom portion of my review. I met with Dr. Bill Bragg and the reason he has such great reviews, is because he is a really nice guy. I was disappointed with my appointment though. After waiting for him for an hour and 10 minutes past my appointment time, I was getting very impatient. While I do appreciate him taking time with his patients (a very important part of practicing) maybe he shouldn't have so many appointments then. Making someone wait that long is just not fair, guess my time is not important. Secondly I was referred to him from another surgeon that met with me and said I needed surgery but was booked out farther than I liked. When I met with Dr. Bragg, he did not believe I needed surgery (even know I know my body, have been dealing with the pain for several months and have already had this injury on the other shoulder a few years back that last almost two years before I moved forward with surgery, clearly it is not going to just heal). The Dr and I agreed to disagree, which I can appreciate his opinion. He is entitled to his and I am entitled to mine. I just don't understand why I had to waste my time when the office knew I was being referred to discuss surgery, I confirmed that when I was on the phone with them. Lastly the location of the office (not the Dr's fault), is a nightmare!! You all can keep the downtown Sac area, I want nothing to do with it. One way streets, NO parking... stupid. This office has valet parking, for $5.00 CASH. When I pulled up the attendant did not tell me that they had an ATM, so I had to leave and go find one several blocks away, only to come back and then he told me they had one. First it is was $12.00 cash, then it was $5.00 Cash. (something shady going on here!) 08/17/2016-Disclaimer on my review... I have not seen the Dr yet but the front office staff is usually a huge deciding factor for me when deciding what Dr's I wish to get medical opinions from. The front office called me to book an appointment with the Dr surgeon due to a surgery I need to have on my torn rotator cuff. The office was friendly, answering all my questions and very accommodating to my concern about needing to get in quickly. I did some research on the Dr after they called me ( I got referred by my regular Dr), and he comes highly recommended on the Internet. Fingers crossed that since the office was so great, I will equally love the Dr. Meeting with him next week, I'll update my review after I meet him. read more

I had a fall five years ago that left me with lots of pain, sleepless nights and frustration. I started seeing doctor Bragg and every step of the way he made me feel listened to and understood. I am allergic to most medications and he knew that I don't want to mask my symptoms with medications that only made things worse. He knew I wanted to try and avoid surgery so I got shots and did physical therapy but nothing worked so we both decided it was time for surgery. I am 5 weeks post op now and while the pain is still bad (recovering pain) and my other issues with the right side of my body are flaring up, I am so pleased with the level of care I received from him. He truly cares about his patients like no one else I have ever had. Even after a whole day of surgeries he took the time to call me back after I left a message for him. He always took the time to explain things to me so that I can understand. If you read this you are probably looking into having him as a physician and believe me you will see why I say he is so amazing.
