I had my very first appointment with Bill at the William John Massage Studio on February 28, and let me just say it was the best massage I have had in life thus far. I've had many massages, but this one tops them all. Upon entering the Studio I immediately felt relaxed. The decor, music and atmosphere were very relaxing. I completed the new client paper work then we headed to the massage room. The room was just as relaxing as the front room. The entire studio was open, clean and fresh. Now onto Bill himself. Excellent masseur through and through. Prior to starting the massage Bill and I sparked a little conversation; which for some can ease nervousness dealing with a new massage therapist. Bill is easy to chat with and helpful with random information (i.e. I'm heading to San Francisco and he recommended some places for me to check out; which I plan to do). He's definitely fantastic at what he does. His expertise allowed my session to be relaxing and enjoyable. He stressed the open line of communication which was very important to me so that I may communicate my likes and dislikes (side-note... no dislikes). He applied the perfect amount a pressure needed to work some of my most tender muscles as well as explained various things during our session. Because my muscles are very tense he stretched my legs in a way that allowed for a little more flexibility for a short time (need more stretching for better longer lasting flexibility). When my session was over Bill explained some things I can do on my own to stretch my most tense areas. Bill took the time to write down some things I should look up to relieve a lot of tension. I was very eager to schedule another session with Bill and so I did. I'm looking forward to my next session and other near future sessions. Bill was fantastic. It was my very first massage and he made me feel super comfortable and did a fantastic job. I have gotten massages other places, mostly chains, and they absolutely don't compare to the service and talent at William John Massage Studio. Bill is awesome! He is friendly and professional and focused on making sure clients have the best possible experience. The client's comfort is a priority of his throughout the entire process. From greeting you by name and having a bottle of water waiting for you when you enter the studio, to asking what kind of music you prefer and where you would like him to focus during the session. He definitely takes cues from the client during the session, if you aren't in a chatty mood then he won't try to make conversation, but if you feel like talking he is ready to interact with you and chat about anything. During the session, Bill answered all of my questions and encouraged me to ask more. He took the time after the session to show me some techniques I could do at home to help keep my muscles loose. There is just not enough words to express how much Bill is a class act. He is excellent at his craft and his knowledge of the human body is rare from a massage therapist. My first three sessions immensely fixed long-term chronic issues that my physical therapist struggled to cure. I simply listened very carefully to everything he said to perform post-session, and my body improved 10 fold. When you schedule a follow up session, he examines and notifies you of your improvements, or lack of. How many therapist even think to do that? If you're looking for some legit body work, this is the place to go. I've been an athlete for most of my life and have had more massages than I can count to work out the knots and sore spots that come with months of wear and tear. This is probably one of the best massages that I've ever had. I love that I leave feeling pleasantly sore -- I know that those problem areas have been worked on. Before the massage, Bill took the time to ask me about my problem areas, spots that were bothering me, recent injuries, concerns etc. Then for the next hour, he proceeded to find every knot in my back and shoulders and recommended stretches for my tight hammies and hips. After our session, he showed me some other stretches to help stretch my rounding shoulders from hours of computer work. it's an awesome place for a high quality massage in a great location in Towson. read more

I highly recommend William John Massage Studio! Bill is a talented therapist and is sincerely interested in relieving muscle pain and treating chronic ailments through massage and exercise. He thoroughly listened to my history and complaints, and pinpointed my problems through touch. I had a deep tissue massage with Bill and now I feel significantly better! I've been coming to see Bill at William John Massage Studio for a little over two years now and I couldn't be happier. I have chronic back issues that the staff have always taken time to understand, address, and help me understand how to improve in my day to day life. This isn't your ordinary run-of -the mill massage by any means - they listen to your issues, and constantly modify their approach based on you, your anatomy/physiology, and your individual needs. I've had the opportunity to get massages all over the world, and I can say with confidence that William John Massage Studio is able to provide service that exceeds my needs and has me walking away from their office more healthy then when I came in the door. The office is comfortable and simply designed, staff friendly and super knowledgable, music choice A+ (if you want new-age whale songs and rain sticks I'm sure they'd play it, but otherwise its just a great relaxing playlist), and the quality of their care and service second to none. Case and point: Bill was recently out on paternity leave (congrats!) and somehow took the time that week to ensure that I had updates/information and my scheduled session was rebooked at a time that respected my crazy schedule. The absolute best all around experience I could hope for. I go to Bill for deep tissue and sports massage: intensive work on deep-seated knots and muscle tension. I've never had a more perceptive and skilled person work on me. Truly a caring and nice guy, Bill is really easy going and easy to talk to. I started going to Bill months before leaving for the lacrosse World Cup this past July. Consistently going in for therapy after a long training weekend with the US team or before traveling to the next one. I cannot rave enough about Bill and his practice. I have had plenty of sports massages and Bill's is the best yet. A relaxing and professional environment that made me feel very comfortable off the bat. I am always a little worried about going to a new masseuse with so many unknowns and what not. But Bill is super easy to connect with and very informative. He educated me during the massage and gave me different exercises and stretches after to help me with my targeted issues. The session was entirely catered to what my body and muscles needed and I left feeling completely taken care of. He set me up for major success and I would not have been able to perform through such intense training without his help.
