This was my first time at this library and I was amazed at the theater!!! I attended a poetry slam and it was the perfect place for this event. Not to mention it being located within walking distance of shops and restaurants

I've been patronizing Williamsburg Regional Library since the first part of this century, and it has been good. Mostly. I don't live in Williamsburg or James City County, but WRL had an arrangement with my county where I could have library privileges. I believe there was a small annual fee, and it was well worth it. Then I took about a 5-10 year hiatus, returning last month, just to find that my library card no longer worked. I went to the Info Desk to get a new one, but was told that my county no longer has that arrangement with WRL. Grrr. But I believe it was my library that terminated the agreement. But I can still browse the library, surf the net, or just have a cool, quiet respite from the summer sun. The plant is always clean, staff is friendly and helpful, and parking is ample. Handicapped parking seems to be in somewhat short supply. In the age of covid, as you walk in the door, there is a monitor there to ensure you're wearing a mask, and a machine you must stare at for a few seconds while it measures your body temperature. All computer keyboards have been replaced with Wet Keys washable keyboards. WRL is still a hit with me.

This review is specifically for the kids section- it's amazing! If you are in town or visiting colonial wburg with young kids this is a great stop. They have a spacious, comfortable children's area with accessible, age appropriate book displays, a good foreign language selection and diverse representation. They also have a big variety of toys and materials for kids, especially toddlers to ~age 8, that encourage open ended and imaginative play. My kids loved it. I was really impressed (and wish we had similar resources at my library!)

This is a pleasant library, located in between the College of William & Mary to the south and the Williamsburg Transportation Center to the north. It's a small but reasonably spacious library, one floor, more or less, that is always filled with a happy bunch of individuals reading, using the computers, or more. Wireless internet is free here -- no library card necessary -- and speedy. Despite being so close to the College, the Williamsburg Library tends to be lacking in student patrons during most of the day, so if you need a place to read, work, or meet, but are tired of college kids that frequent many of the other local areas, this is a safe bet. (As a fellow alumnus, though, I can attest that we aren't that bad!) There is a beautiful auditorium attached to the library that is regularly used for meetings, concerts, and more. It's worth checking out. Parking is good here. You can situate yourself on the street, or pull around back where there's a medium-sized lot. The whole area here feels very open and comfortable. Recommended!

Not the largest library ever but they still have a grest selection of books including the largest collection of photography related books and magazines of any library I've been to. I especially love the new arrivals area. My kids really like the child computer area and the preloaded games on them. Enter through the side door to see what is basically a small wall art gallery showcasing mostly local artists!

This library is a little gem! I wish it opened an hour earlier but once you do get inside you won't want to leave.

We absolutely love the James City County library. It's a first class library that's personable and…read morecomfortable. In addition to books, they have lots and lots of DVDs, and a children's section, which includes an area to play. The children's section has its own glass door so the kiddos can enjoy themselves without the noise traveling to the other parts of the library. I love how the library staff arrange books they recommend and new titles so you can easily find them. They also have a terrific borrowing program with other libraries. Plus, if they cannot obtain a title for you, then,au often purchase it to add to their collection. When you enter the building foyer, there often are seeds and plant clippings to take at no charge. It's a great way to share plants! Another good aspect of the library is that it's open every day! Parking is plentiful.

I have lived here 8 years and never visited this library. My loss. I recently got a library card…read moreand I am glad I did. I use the Libby app mostly to get audio books. We have a good selection to choose from. The library itself is very nice. The huge kids section is perfect for your little ones and is closed off from the rest of the library via large glass wall and doors. This is great for keeping the happy kid noises down. I was very supervised at the huge DVD and music section in this library. Too bad I no longer have a means to play them at home. The history section is quite large as one might expect in this historical town. The display sections for new and promoted books are very nicely managed. There are plenty of comfy spots to sit and read too. WRL has a lot to offer for everyone. Even my picky, science fiction, nerdy self.
