I am not a member (nor am I a Presbyterian), but I am a regular attendee. Wythe has undergone many changes in the last few years. The new pastor is working hard to create a community, based on clearly articulated sermons. Add in a very involved congregation and you get a home, not just a layover. For the right community - one with an active kids ministry that would also be comfortable with our large family coming in the door, but that we ourselves could grow with and in and be a thriving and supportive element. St Basil members got it right on the first try - it felt like home, and we were able to make friends and build a community right away. The iconography is in-progress and not entirely finished yet but it's beautiful already- and so amazing to get to watch it all come together. We also really appreciate the opportunities to connect with the local community outside of the church church through the annual Sacred Arts Festival and the lectures that the Church sponsors with speakers from all over the country. !
