The boss lady, "Mama"

The folks at Willie's are lovely people. They have a lot of hidden treasures; jewelry, clothes, vinyls, wigs and China. Raquel, Jeanette, and Mama make you feel like you're at home. Prices are fair. Leaving the store I have a new belt, broach, and a couple new aunties too

We finally stopped by Willie's Vintage! I've been to many vintage stores and this has now moved to my top favorites, their selection is beautiful, reasonably priced, and they have wonderful service! Look at this gorgeous purse we bought! thank you for incredible experience Jeanette

Such a fantastic store! It had so many different things from different time eras!! The owners were absolutely amazing and welcoming. There were so many items to choose from. Highly recommended, from clothing to jewelry to furniture. There is something for everyone!

Shopping in Pasadena, Los Angeles, California…read more.. My friend, Jun, was going to look at furniture at The Huntington Collection. He had learned about this cool place from our friend, Nikki B. Of course, I wanted to tag along with Jun! The Huntington Collection is not just a place for thrifting... it really is a collection of vintage items such as furniture, jewelry, clothing, shoes, books, etc. Check out this shop for interesting merchandise! It's for a good cause: Huntington Hospital's Senior Care Network Shopping here is also great for our environment: reuse things, recycle items, and reduce waste!

I just need to share this story bc it is truly COMICAL and adds an unpleasant experience to what would otherwise be great. There is a Hispanic lady w very short curly hair that works the register -- and she consistently treats me poorly, is cold/rude and downright has a chip on her shoulder! I can't seem to tell if she is just rude towards me or everyone. Today I got 2 linen XL shirts, should be $8 each She rang the first one up as $8 and the next as $10 I made a comment: oh the shirt is $10?? She replied THIS IS A JACKET. The size makes it a jacket! (it is not a jacket. Literally a plain linen button up but XL size and I am not an XL sized person) I replied: but they are identical (same button up/brand in 2 diff colors) ie you charged me diff prices for identical items She says: well then I should be charging you $10 for both so just be thankful I made a mistake w the first one. I was sooo shocked she doubled down and said I should be paying $10 for both I wasn't going to fight over $2 and cause a scene but wowwwwww I will ofc continue to support and shop here but management should know the character of the people that work the front. After I paid she just walked away and could care less. The very KIND other blond lady working the front gathered all my stuff and I really didn't need a bag but she was very kind and offered to bag my purchases. Truly dread interacting w this chip on the shoulder lady whenever I shop here. They really are not jackets. I have no idea why she thought it was a jacket

Prices are around $7 to $10 for items, such as the Size 6 Talbots women's work pants I picked up (my luck). The tableware and kitchen acoutrements are worth perusing if you like those things. Rather too many old books and not enough of the utility items that people want to buy second hand. In terms of service, the young woman is very pleasant. Otherwise I had a palpable sense of a frontier small town with a closed knit white community where non-white are treated as suspicious. History lives large in these parts, it's only a century ago that the Europeans came here from the eastern US. As well, this is attached to a women's club which is an organization reflecting the "settler" ethos. Anyway I wouldn't bother again, and would look through shops in Pasadena for more choice. Also I had a whole car load of things to donate but I decided to take it back to LA where the charitable causes seem more pressing (than a women's club in a white enclave city which participated until recently in U.S. apartheid) and the population is more diverse.

Just like the Bargain Box and Huntington Collection, I can't call the Treasure Fair a thrift shop since it's not like a typical thrift shop, but more like second-hand boutique. You can tell that the volunteers take the time to highlight the quality of the available merchandise, especially the housewares and decor. It's very evident that all of the treasures for sale were meticulously cleaned and staged by the hardworking staff. There's also a pretty good selection of clothing for all ages. The Treasure Fair is a nonprofit managed by the Assistance League of Pasadena, and one of their worthy endeavors is Operation School Bell, which provides much needed clothing as well as school supplies such as backpacks and books to children in need in neighboring local schools. There's a very small parking lot but there should be plenty of street parking available if needed. Also, be aware that the store has limited hours since it's managed by volunteers. It's only open four days a week, Wednesdays thru Saturdays, from 11am to 2pm. Plan to check out The Treasure Fair to give much needed treasures a new. home.
